As project manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operation and delivery of this vital  service, using your experience to develop the team, sharing best practice and seeking creative opportunities to continually improve the support we offer unpaid carers. You’ll develop trusted partnerships with local stakeholders, practitioners, businesses and services to promote and embed the service in the local area, supporting the development of a positive ‘carer friendly’ culture in Lewisham.

This role will suit a people person who can quickly develop relationships, lead a team, and work closely in a supportive role with Adult Carers, Young Adult Carers and Young Carers. You’ll have overall responsibility for the Carer’s hub, where carers can drop in for advice and support, manage a small caseload, and support the delivery of the service’s range of activities as required, including respite activities, online groups, face-to-face sessions.

We are looking for a great motivator with excellent communication and organisational skills. Applicants should have relevant team or project management experience in social care, health, education or the voluntary and community sector. You will have experience of working with vulnerable adults and/or children and operational knowledge of multi-agency working. A practical understanding of barriers faced by unpaid carers, and an awareness of cultural differences will be key in this role.

This is a full-time role and the postholder can either be based in the community in Lewisham or our New Ash Green office, with travel to the other area/ office 2 days a week. The postholder must have access to their own ULEZ compliant car.

The Ripple Pond is a charity that supports adult family members of physically and/or psychologically injured British Armed Forces personnel and veterans. Many of these individuals and family members are hard to reach and often isolated.

Your role will be to ensure that more and more of the military community, professionals and other interested parties know who we are and how to access our support.

You will also help to organise our exciting programme of online talks and activities for our Members (service-users) to help ensure they are well-informed, involved and feel part of a supportive community. Making sure that Members are always involved in generating ideas and production.

We are looking for someone who is dynamic and determined, but you also need to be invested in our mission as a charity and care about people.

This role is about;

• working with a wide range of groups and individuals to help raise awareness of the charity and to create opportunities to identify new Members (service users);

• being responsible for networking, identifying, and establishing partnerships with key individuals and organisations and nurturing existing relationships;

• developing and rolling out strategies to engage with hard-to-reach and isolated military carers and families;

• coordinating a range of activities (mainly online) to deliver information to Members, potential Members, referrers, and other stakeholders. These will include online talks from staff, Members and other “subject matter experts”; and

• helping to ensure the charity continues to understand the developing needs of its Members.

Although the role is home-based, you will not be working in isolation; you will be supported by the managers and workforce.

All our staff are home-based, and we maintain a strong caring culture of teamwork, mutual support and promoting wellbeing at work.

You may be exposed to traumatic narratives from our Membership, for many this is a reality in their lives. We do provide an extensive framework of clinical and managerial support but you do need to be an emotionally and psychologically resilient individual.

There is a permanent, part time Funding Officer opportunity to come and join our North East and Cumbria Regional team.  The role is for 25.5 hours per week covering the area of Cumbria. 

The role of a Funding Officer is both challenging and rewarding with no two days the same. You will be expected to spend time developing your knowledge of and relationships in the communities that you are responsible for to try to understand the challenges they face and how our funding can make a real difference to help communities to thrive.

You will be responsible for assessing and presenting funding applications to our Reaching Communities programme, supporting community groups, making connections with important stakeholders e.g. CEO’s of LA’s, MP’s, Mayors and representing the fund at a wide variety of events including funding fairs and networking events.

You will often be the first point of call for potential applicants and will need to be resilient, diplomatic, supportive and assertive in equal degrees. As the outward facing representation of the fund you will need to have good people skills, good communication skills and be professional in a wide variety of different situations. You will have to assess applications and present these to the rest of the regional team at various panels. You will certainly have to be strong enough to say “no” as we always have more applications than funding available.

We are looking for people who have good knowledge and understanding of the third sector and the challenges it faces. You will need capable IT skills, the ability to learn new processes and procedures (including bespoke software). You may have to travel throughout the region and, on occasions, have to stay away overnight and work unsociable hours.

Ideally you will live in Cumbria. The use of car is desirable.

The postholder will develop research-based policy positions, identify and deliver clear opportunities for public and political engagement, and mobilise support from a range of stakeholders. Essential Criteria:

• At least 3 years’ experience managing a public affairs, policy or media function.

About IKWRO

IKWRO –Women’s Rights Organisation (IKWRO) is an award-winning charity founded (as the Iranian and Kurdish Women’s Rights Organisation) in 2002. IKWRO is a registered charity which provides advice and support to Middle Eastern, North African and Afghan women and girls living in the UK, who have experienced, or are at risk of all forms of “honour” based abuse, including; forced marriage, child marriage and female genital mutilation (FGM), or domestic abuse.

We work with women and girls of all ages, including lesbian women, bisexual women and trans women. We offer services in Kurdish, Farsi, Arabic, Dari, Pashto, Turkish and English. IKWRO offers free advice, advocacy and counselling services and operates a refuge which provides safe accommodation and specialist support to single women at risk of “honour” based abuse, forced marriage and domestic abuse.

IKWRO also provides training for women and girls to help them understand their rights in the UK. In partnership with other organisations, we assist survivors of abuse with accessing English language classes and education, training and employment opportunities.

As well as supporting women and girls directly, we offer advice and training for professionals from the statutory and voluntary sectors, to better understand the needs of the women and girls we represent, the types of abuse they experience and to provide best practice prevention and support services.

We campaign to increase awareness and improve laws and policies to tackle all forms of “honour” based abuse and harmful practices including; forced marriage, child marriage, marital captivity, female genital mutilation, virginity testing and hymenoplasty, discrimination by sharia courts and to push for better laws and policies to protect women’s and girl’s rights.

The post-holder will be required to work in a confidential setting and provide non directive support to improve mental health and social functioning of women who are experiencing different forms of gender based violence. The post-holder will be professionally trained, accredited and work within the BACP/BPS Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions (2018) or equivalent. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

·Provide a service in line with BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) guidelines or equivalent.

·To support the management team with the strategic development of IKWRO’s counselling services. 

·The provision of effective and high-quality Counselling and Psychotherapy services to IKWRO’s clients through making use of up to date service standards and IKWRO’s Counselling Guidelines.

·To agree a counselling contract with IKWRO’s clients and provide a timely, responsive and appropriate service.

·Carrying out a small one to one clinical caseload and/or depending on the team’s clinical capacity.

·To manage waiting lists according to the level of risk, delivery plans and organisational priorities. 

·To manage the delivery against targets and in accordance with contract requirements. 

·To lead, line manage and develop the counselling services staff as required.

·To do the clinical supervision of Associate Counsellors and trainees.

·Helping clients work towards a deeper understanding of their concerns;

·Maintain clients’ records ensuring accordance with IKWRO’s policies particularly as they relate to confidentiality and data protection.

·Making appropriate referrals and signposting to other services if needed;

·Attending clinical individual supervision, managerial supervision and training courses;

·Liaising, as necessary, with other agencies and individuals to help make changes based on the issues raised by clients;

·Liaising with IKWRO’s staff.

We are looking to recruit an experienced Fundraising manager to take on the well established fundraising of our organisation and further drive the growth of our donations and income base. The role will manage our communications, website and social media channels increasing engagement with key audience groups.

The Welcome Centre is an independent charity providing crisis support in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. We run a large food bank operation providing practical support. We also have an in-house Advice, Guidance & Support team who work with the people accessing our food bank to help improve their longer term circumstances. Each year we support thousands of people in crisis in our community.  As Fundraising Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring we can provide the resources required.

Katherine Low Settlement has worked with older people since its conception in 1924.They are a core part of the community that we continue to work with. We provide, often in partnership, a range of projects and activities for older people including health and wellbeing; creative arts; intergenerational work; connecting people and trips/outings. Our services include an Older People's Lunch Club, Contact Club, T’ai Chi for Elders, exercise and social sessions, and support online.

Key Objectives for the Elders Core Service Manager Role:

1. Team Leadership: Lead a team of dedicated part-time paid staff and volunteers, including a cook, support worker, minibus driver, and sessional workers.
2. Day-to-Day Management: Manage the day-to-day operations of the Elders Core Service, including the lunch club, transport, social sessions, and overseeing the one-to-one work of the core team.
3. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the wider team to provide a hands-on program that builds on older people's strengths and potential.
4. Monitoring and Evaluation: Support the monitoring and evaluation of the project in collaboration with the Head of Programme.
5. Budget Management: Ensure the program operates within budget constraints.
6. Member Engagement: Support the planning of the core program with input from elder members and the wider team.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Delivery

• Planning and Oversight: Ensure that all service output aligns with KLS' vision, mission, values, and charitable objectives. Organize and promote one-off activities throughout the year.
• Transport Management: Manage the transport offer, including route planning and pick-up schedules.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate activity records, registers, and casework notes for the core team.
• Outreach and Support: Conduct outreach work with older people in the community, oversee home visits, and manage a small caseload.

2. Staff and Volunteer Management

• Recruitment and Line Management: Recruit and manage the Outreach and Support Workers, Lunch Club Cook, and relevant social activities workers and volunteers.
• Performance Management: Use performance management and quality systems to monitor and evaluate the project's work and processes.

3. Relationships, Communication, and Networks

• Member Engagement: Build and sustain strong relationships with elder members.
• Communication: Oversee communication for the Core Programme, including newsletters, activities calendar, annual reports, and social media platforms.
• Meetings: Attend meetings on behalf of the Core Programme as required.

4. Finance

• Budget Management: Manage project areas to budget and maintain financial records as agreed with the Head of Programme.

5. Other Duties

• Professional Development: Participate in regular management supervision and annual appraisal. Identify job-related development and training needs.
• Professional Conduct: Professionally undertake roles, maintaining a high-quality standard of work in line with KLS's aims, values, and ethos.

Job Purpose

Money Minded is a new service designed to support adults (18 years and over) in Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Hounslow. This role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate closely with the West London NHS Mental Health Teams, operating within the tri-borough area.

The service provides support with welfare benefits, accessing debt support, housing and well-being. The role of the Mental Health Information and Advice Officer will be to provide advice, guidance and customer representation to tri-borough residents living with Mental Health difficulties. Advice issues may include housing, welfare benefits, council tax, accessing debt support, signposting etc.

The successful candidate will deliver support to enquirers and manage a caseload of individuals, as agreed with the Service Manager. In addition to advice casework, the Mental Health Information and Advice Officer will also be expected to assist onboarding referrals to the service, as and when needed.

The successful candidate will work closely with the West London NHS Mental Health teams and project volunteers, ensuring adherence to the Advice Quality Standard framework (AQS) and Mind's policies and procedures.

Due to the nature of the work, if successful, you will need to have an up-to-date DBS check completed, prior to undertaking unsupervised client work.

Place of Work

The Mental Health Information and Advice Officer will be required to work within the West London NHS Mental Health team offices.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver support to enquirers and manage a caseload of individuals as agreed with the service manager
• Deliver monthly wellbeing peer support groups/workshops
• Provide advice and information relating to all welfare benefits, including assisting clients with form filling and contacting agencies such as the Department for Work & Pensions on their behalf
• Provide housing advice
• Link in with specialist debt and money support agencies
• Provide information on employment opportunities and training support for clients
• Signpost to other relevant services in the boroughs, or further afield

Person Specification

Knowledge & Experience

• Substantial experience of delivering advice in a similar position, preferably to individuals with Mental Health needs
• Knowledge and understanding of Mental Health problems and how they are impacted by social issues
• Experience of delivering advice, information and customer representation
• Experience of managing complex cases
• Experience of working with multiple agencies
• Experience of delivering desired outcomes in a timely manner  
• Up to date knowledge and experience of safeguarding adults
• Understanding of the importance of monitoring and evaluation, and the ability to keep records

Skills & Attributes

• Relevant and up to date knowledge of welfare benefits, housing and social care
• Facilitate and deliver peer support groups for longer term improved wellbeing
• Ability to communicate effectively in person on a one-to-one basis and with groups, as well as over the telephone and in writing
• Excellent listening skills
• Computer literate, with the ability to use MS Office, email systems and databases (inputting information and extracting reports)
• Ability to liaise with a range of people – customers with support needs, carers, and a range of different professionals 
• Ability to remain calm in challenging situations and reinforce boundaries
• Ability to support people to manage difficult feelings, and communicate their needs effectively
• Strong organisation and administrative skills 
• Flexibility in overall approach to work
