St Hilda’s East has a 135-year history of combating deprivation and social exclusion in East London. We welcome people of all ages to our large community centre in Shoreditch where we offer a wide range of activities for local people which provide opportunities to enhance wellbeing, learn new skills and meet people of diverse backgrounds. We also run a day centre in Shadwell, with a focus on supporting elders from the Bangladeshi and other communities.
This is an exciting time to join the team, as we commemorate the Charity's 135th anniversary with a series of fundraising activities, campaigns and events. We are in a unique position in that we have strong, continuing links with our founders, the Guild (alumnae) of Cheltenham Ladies' College together with the school’s parents, and pupils.
As Fundraising Lead (Corporates & Individuals) you will play a vital role in securing support from corporates, local businesses and individuals to help our charity to continue to thrive for a further 135 years!
The role can be worked flexibly over 22.5 hours per week with opportunities to work from home as well as our friendly offices in Shoreditch, London. 25 days holiday and bank holidays (pro rata) plus a pension scheme.

- Identifying new funding opportunities through horizon scanning and prospect research
- Engaging with supporters to develop sponsorship opportunities, in-kind donations and encouraging them to carry out their own fundraising activities on our behalf

The role

QAC is a charity that runs a college, supported living (known as Independence Plus) and community services for young adults with learning difficulties and disabilities.
The College has been at its current location since 1903. Our original purpose was to provide education for young people who were blind or visually impaired. Today, in addition to supporting people who have a visual impairment, we offer education, support and guidance for students on the autism spectrum, those with moderate to severe learning difficulties, and students with physical and other disabilities. We have a large, skilled and diverse staff team who can meet a diverse range of student needs. As QAC has grown, we now have new educational and learning sites. As well as the more well-known campus in Harborne, there is the QAC Pinewood campus (dedicated to employment progression) in nearby Woodgate valley and in addition, QAC Umberslade campus (dedicated to horticulture and outdoor learning), in nearby Selly Oak. Our supported living programmes (Independent Plus) and Community Services offers support after leaving college and to those from within the local community. The marketing and communications team is responsible for marketing QAC services with the main focus being on student recruitment. The Role
The deputy manager would support the manager with recruiting and managing the large staff team, creating a culture of positive behaviour support within a personalised environment, embedding quality standards, achieving and progressing good outcomes with the people we support. As well as managing the service safely within the regulations and standard required by CQC.
You will act as a role model in the delivery of active support you will promote and maintain person centred approaches and inclusive community links to achieve positive outcomes with the people we support from the frontline staff team.
Skills and Expertise

· A minimum of 1 years’ experience of providing support to people with learning disabilities/ autism and or complex needs and or behaviours of concern

· Have strong IT skills and able to manage own time and work under pressure
· Creativity, motivation and enthusiasm to bring new ideas into the service and to implement these to shape the service as part of continuous improvement
· QCF Level 5 in Leadership for Health and Social Care, or equivalent or willingness to gain a qualification
· Experience of staff management and the ability to lead and develop a large team ensuring staff are appropriately trained
· Experience of carrying out needs assessments and creating support and risk management plans for people with complex needs
· The ability to deliver the service in accordance with an individual support plans, the service specification and CQC requirements
· A commitment to providing high quality, personalised active support
· Knowledge of managing a budget is desirable

Programme Manager role
We are now looking for an enthusiastic and committed Programme Manager(s) to join our existing Programme Team in September 2024 on a full or part-time basis (6-month fixed-term with potential to extend). As a Programme Manager, you will be responsible for managing the Yes Futures programmes in-person, in our partner primary and secondary schools in North London, Essex, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire & Buckinghamshire.
Main Responsibilities
You will be one of a small team of Programme Managers, dedicated to delivering excellent programmes which make a positive difference to the lives of students. The main responsibilities of the Programme Manager role are:
Programme delivery
- Responsible for the care and wellbeing of all students in your schools on the programme;
- Communicating with parents where necessary during the programme, by email, letter and telephone;
- Planning and delivering whole-group workshops for students;
- Planning and delivering information and celebration events for students and parents;
- Facilitating the in-person and online volunteer coaching team to deliver student coaching sessions. As well as delivering coaching sessions to students, where required;
- Developing business and charity partnerships for day trips;
- Planning and delivering the day trips included in the programme;
- Supporting the planning and delivery of the Into the Wild and World of Work day trips;
- Implementing discipline procedures, including reporting serious discipline issues;
- Implementing all necessary Health and Safety and Child Protection procedures, including recording and reporting any incidents;
- Ongoing communication with the school and Yes Futures head office regarding student engagement and progress.
Organisation and administration
- School onboarding, including ensuring that dates are planned, students are recruited and parental agreements are returned;
- Planning and organising the logistical elements of the programme (timetables, activities, sessions plans etc) through liaising with Yes Futures head office, school staff, businesses, charitable organisations and the rest of the Coaching team;
- Creation of Risk Assessments, parent letters and programme-related documents for schools;
- Sourcing materials needed for programme sessions, including lunches for trips;
- Assisting with finance and petty cash where required.
Management of volunteer Yes Futures Coaches
- Managing and developing the skills of your Coaching teams (usually 2-6 adults per school);
- Ongoing communication with your Coaching teams, to foster their enthusiasm and commitment;
- Supporting Coach recruitment for future programmes;
- Supporting the planning and delivery of training for Coaches;
- Maintaining accurate and secure records of Coaches’ personal information, absences, sickness and other relevant information.
Evaluation and reporting
- Facilitating the pre-, mid- and end of programme evaluations;
- Oversight and input of key student monitoring data and impact data;
- Debriefing and ongoing feedback collection from schools and Coaches;
- Ensure all work is carried out in an effective and timely manner to support continued high standards of the Yes Futures programmes.
Programme Managers will also be given the opportunity to support with other Head Office functions, including but not limited to:
- Strengthening our strategy, programme design and theory of change;
- Supporting the marketing of Yes Futures to new schools and customers;
- Developing our fundraising strategy through bid writing and other fundraising tasks;
- Establishing relationships with key partner organisations;
- Planning our future Ambassador offer and other pilot programmes.
In addition, as part of our focus on employee development, you will be able to dedicate time to individual personal development opportunities and gain further professional growth through leading working groups in strategic areas in which you are interested.

The Pepper Pot Centre is a vital, Caribbean & other BME community resource for the over 60s in Kensington & Chelsea and neighbouring Boroughs, seeking to combat discrimination, isolation, depression and loneliness and help our members to take charge of their lives and live in a healthy and independent manner.
Having formally opened our doors in 1981, we are a meeting place for older and retired members of the community and a day centre that provides a balanced Caribbean meal, recreational and cultural activities and lots more. In 1976 & 2006 was visited by the late Queen and by the Duchess of Cornwall in2020.
We are now seeking a part-time Events Coordinator to join our team for a one-year, fixed term contract, working 21 hours per week.
About the role
This is a phenomenal opportunity for a proactive and community-focused individual with a strong grasp of the needs of older people from Caribbean backgrounds and other BME communities to take an exciting step in their career with our organisation.
We are looking for a highly organised and creative Events Coordinator to join our growing team to plan, deliver and evaluate the effectiveness of events targeted specifically at our 60+ community e.g. trips/visits to parks, museums, Theatre, Seaside and more.
Our new Events Coordinator will support the planning and delivery of a key part of our work, namely: the management of our events programme designed to combat and prevent isolation, loneliness and depression amongst our elders. They will work closely with our sponsor, Global Radio – LBC, Capital Xtra, Heart, Smooth, Classic FM, talkSPORT and more.
Specifically, you will:
- Develop an Events programme, trips, visits, excursions designed to combat discrimination, isolation, depression and loneliness.
- Publicise our programme of events, and activities via digital media, leaflet distribution, open days, and word of mouth etc.
- Support and encourage our members to attend the Events programme of activities.
- Recruit train and organise team of volunteers to support and expand the Events programme.
- Plan, organise administer and accompany members on trips, visits and excursions within and outside the UK and you may be required to work outside normal office hours.
- Produce written reports for the management committee and our sponsor Global Radio.
- Evaluate the success of events through feedback mechanisms, attendance records, and make recommendations
- Adhere to PPC’s internal administrative protocols and procedures, including the Finance Procedures, Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety and Data Protection policies.
- With the Director, regularly review and update risk assessments for events.
About you
Essential:
- Understanding the essential needs of older people from Caribbean backgrounds and other BME communities
- Previous experience of successfully coordinating events
- Experience of both planned and reactive approaches to event planning/work Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
- Good organisational skills with a methodical approach to working on several tasks simultaneously and working to deadlines.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively diverse populations and build rapport with clients
- Good written and research skills with the ability to draft letters, invites, reports skills
- Be familiar with Microsoft Office, Excel etc.

About the role
The Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the church and its buildings, with responsibility for: Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, Fire Assessment, Risk Management, Infrastructure and Accessibility issues.
Alongside this the Operations Manager will line manage the office team (two part-time roles) and support the work of the Property Committee. Cooperation with the Treasurer to co-ordinate financial operations and budgets will also be required. Attending the PCC (church council/ trustees) meetings (non-voting) when appropriate will give the Operations Manager a greater understanding of the mission and ministry of the church, and some administration tasks may be delegated to the Operations Manager at these meetings (eg Minutes or Reports).
This role demands the ability to take initiative, lead clearly and consider detail as well as the wider picture. Because of the nature of the organisation, leadership and practice must be informed and shaped by both Christian faith and ethics as well as legislation and policies.

Job Purpose
This role sits within our crisis alternative service, Safe Space, which is an out of hours service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed and experiencing crisis. The service operates 365 days a year from 12:00 (midday)-11:30pm across all of our boroughs.
This role is for our Ealing Safe Space, 4:30pm - 11:30pm. You may be required to cover at other locations across Hammersmith & Fulham, Ealing and Hounslow.
Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical and emotional support, face to face or via telephone on a one-to-one or group basis to individuals experiencing mental health crisis.
The objectives of the service include:
- To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health crisis in HFEH.
- To provide support to clients accessing the service- for instance: signposting, de-escalation, planned wellbeing activities etc.
- To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
- To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
- To treat service users with respect, dignity and personalised support
- To raise awareness of mental health services available with the goal to improve long term mental health and reduce social isolation
- To increase self-management skills of those accessing the service
- To reduce the use of police, ambulance and statutory mental health services whilst experiencing crisis.
- To reduce the use of statutory crisis services by people experiencing mental ill health without positive outcomes for the individual.
The Role
The role of the team manager will be to support the rest of the team in delivering interventions on a one-to-one and group basis. The role will also involve triaging and assessing all clients accessing the service, signposting and delivering collaborative self-management plans with clients to improve mental wellbeing. The role will also include line management and supervision of support workers within the service. Team managers are responsible for management of their site; including report writing, audits and being the named manager for the site. This role directly supports the service managers in keeping to a high standard service.

We are hiring an established Deputy Manager looking to progress and utilise their own skills and experience to make meaningful change. OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Line Management and Leadership
- Provide high quality support, leadership and line management to staff, offer guidance, support, and advice to the team and support them to perform to the best of their abilities.

- Work proactively alongside the Service Manager to ensure the service and team meet and exceed Key Performance Indicators, and work in line with professional codes of conduct.

- Be part of the operational on-call Rota for providing out-of-hours support across the operations directorate.
Risk Management
- Follow relevant risk assessment and management procedures, share relevant information with others as necessary.
- Ensure all case recording and information is accurately recorded in a timely manner, ensuring confidentiality and GDPR.
- Alongside the Service Manager, champion, and act as a point of reference for safeguarding concerns within the service(s). Ensure all staff attend relevant safeguarding and training and use knowledge to coach and advise the team.
Property and Housing Management
- Ensure the accommodation in which residents live is clean and maintained to a high standard
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance issues are correctly reported and managed through to completion.
- Ensure a provision of high quality housing management service is provided to residents.
Financial Management
- Support the Service Manager in managing the service budget and review monthly management accounts: Set budgets and ensure resources are maximised.
- Promote effective cost control mechanisms and other financial activities.
- Maintain financial management within the service.
Other
- Some of what else is included: Contract management and Internal auditing, admin, and general other duties as required.

KEY CRITERIA
What we are looking for:
- Understanding and/or experience of working with people of complex backgrounds, ex-offenders, mental health, substance misuse, challenging behaviours
- Experience of working with and engaging with diverse groups of people from varying backgrounds
- IT Proficiency, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to navigate and learn new case management systems and other types of organisational software.
