Home-Start Epsom, Ewell and Banstead is a voluntary organisation committed to promoting the welfare of families and children.  Our team of trained staff and volunteers provide regular emotional support and practical help to families in their own homes and in groups throughout the community.

While the majority of our funding has previously come from grants, we are excited to announce that we are recruiting for a part-time Community Fundraiser to help the charity diversify our funding sources and engage with the local community, individuals and businesses.

The right candidate will combine their enthusiasm about our purpose, their excellent networking and negotiation skills, and their local know-how to generate income from a range of sources across Epsom, Ewell, Banstead and North Mole Valley. Knowledge of Home-Start and similar experience would be advantageous.

This role requires good IT, evaluation and report writing abilities, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to handle confidential financial and other data.

We are a small but friendly team, and we’re looking forward to recruiting the right person for the role.

You’ll lead and expand a network of peer volunteers who work within local communities to promote hepatitis awareness, reduce stigma, and improve access to testing, treatment, and care. You’ll collaborate closely with Leeds Teaching Hospitals and The Hepatitis C Trust’s national and regional teams to ensure culturally sensitive, community-led engagement.

About this role

The Head of Education and Community Engagement is a key leadership role, providing strategic and technical direction for SPANA’s education, community engagement and Social Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) work. Key Responsibilities 

Strategic Planning:

• Undertake research and mapping as required to ensure that projects and programmes respond to local and regional needs and is distinctive and complementary in the context of other providers.

• Keep abreast of educational policy and practice at national and regional governmental level, ensuring that project development is aligned with current thinking and strategy.

• Develop new bespoke and innovative education and community projects in strategic partnership with local and national bodies, allied to the core work of the Orchestra.

Leadership and Management:

• Provide creative leadership and direction for the Learning and Engagement Department, reflecting and clearly articulating the Philharmonia’s vision, mission and values

• Develop and motivate the members of the Learning and Engagement Team, and as required, manage the Learning & Engagement team’s support staff, such as freelance Project Managers, animateurs and musicians

• Sustain and strengthen existing partnerships for funding and delivery with key stakeholders including other NPOs, Local Authorities, Music Education Hubs, community groups, arts organisations and venues, private and public development agencies and schools, colleges and universities.

• Represent the Orchestra on the Strategic Boards of appropriate bodies in London and residencies (for example, music hubs)

• Ensure that key national and regional stakeholders have a detailed understanding of the Orchestra’s Learning and Engagement work, as well as ensuring effective and constructive communication with artists and musicians engaged in the Philharmonia Orchestra’s Learning and Engagement Programme

• Represent the Philharmonia Orchestra at external meetings and conferences, as required, acting as an advocate and ambassador for the Orchestra. 

• Lead and manage the Safeguarding for the Orchestra, ensure that the Philharmonia Orchestra’s safeguarding policy and procedure is up to date and effectively implemented, including taking responsibility as the Philharmonia’s Designated Safeguarding Officer; ensure that all relevant staff and freelance practitioners have current DBS checks. 

Programme Management and Delivery:

• Oversee evaluations of all projects to share outcomes with stakeholders and partners and to learn lessons for developing and delivering future projects.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential:

• Minimum five years’ experience in a relevant role

• Knowledge of the education and community learning landscape

• Experience of reporting tools and data visualisation, ideally for funders

Churches Conservation Trust (CCT) is the national charity caring for historic churches at risk. As the operator of the third largest heritage estate in charitable ownership in the UK, our 356 historic churches include examples of irreplaceable architecture, archaeology and art from 1,000 years of English history.

CCT has an international award-winning reputation in heritage conservation and regeneration. All churches in our care are listed, mostly Grade I and II*, and some are Scheduled Ancient Monuments.

Overall job purpose

This is a fundamental role within our South regional team, internally the role is known as Local Community Officer.

The future of CCT’s outstanding collection of historic churches depends on communities supporting their local CCT church with funds, events, inspiring interpretation, visitor services and preventive conservation. The Local Community Officer will engage and support communities and volunteers to care for 29 historic churches across Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, ensuring each site achieves agreed standards.

About the role

We are looking for two experienced Community Engagement Officers to support NatureCityNorwich – a three-year multi-partner project supported through Nature Towns and Cities, a programme funded by National Lottery players to help urban areas protect and enhance their natural heritage.

The project will co-create a community-led urban nature recovery action plan, placing nature and people at the heart of Norwich’s future. It will map and address the city’s ‘nature gaps’, improve access to green and blue spaces, and empower communities to shape a more resilient, biodiverse and inclusive city.

Sounds great, what will I be doing?

In this role, the individual will work as part of a multidisciplinary NHS team—alongside clinicians, social workers, and community partners—to support adults with moderate to severe mental illness. They will hold a caseload of service users, acting as a key point of contact and contributing to care planning, progress monitoring, and discharge support, using the RiO clinical records system. Working collaboratively with service users, they will co-develop person-centred recovery plans that prioritise social goals and community integration. Building strong therapeutic relationships using trauma-informed and strength-based approaches, they will support individuals in achieving personal recovery goals. The role includes helping service users access local resources, attend appointments, and engage in wellbeing activities, peer support, and psychoeducational groups. The individual will promote recovery-focused, jargon-free communication, advocate for co-production and integrated care, and liaise with both statutory and voluntary sector organisations to support effective service navigation. They will attend clinical meetings and community events, representing both Hestia and the Community Mental Health Team, while maintaining accurate, timely documentation of all support activities and risk assessments. Safe and ethical practice is essential, including adherence to safeguarding protocols, health and safety procedures, and quality standards. Ongoing supervision, training, clinical oversight, and participation in annual appraisals will also form part of this role.

What do I need to bring with me?

You'll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires as well as match our values and mission. Here's what the team will be looking for

The ideal candidate will have an NVQ Level 4 in Care (or equivalent) or at least two years' experience working in a mental health setting. They will demonstrate a strong understanding of mental health issues, recovery principles, and co-production, along with experience collaborating with professionals, services, and community partners. The candidate should have knowledge of care planning, risk assessment, recovery tools, and relevant legislation such as the Mental Health Act. Excellent communication, relationship-building, and group facilitation skills are essential, as is the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in IT systems, including electronic case management tools, is required. The candidate must be resilient, adaptable, and able to maintain clear professional boundaries, with a strong commitment to person-centred, trauma-informed practice. Desirable qualities include lived experience of mental illness or use of secondary care services, peer support training, knowledge of local community resources, and skills in training, mentoring, report writing, presenting, or speaking additional languages.

About The Role

SAVE Britain’s Heritage is looking for a proactive and collaborative Heritage Engagement Manager to strengthen our support for communities campaigning to save historic buildings. 

You’ll take the lead in developing and managing SAVE’s public-facing resources — including the Buildings at Risk Register, ACT NOW! Toolkit and Building of the Month — ensuring they are accessible, impactful and widely used. A key part of the role is working directly with community campaigners, volunteers and students, providing advice and support to help them run effective campaigns, and sharing success stories across SAVE’s networks. 

Working closely with our small team — and alongside our Casework Officer — you’ll help ensure SAVE’s campaigning tools are closely aligned with our strategic aims, from audience development and sector leadership to new partnership opportunities. You’ll also coordinate the annual launch of the Buildings at Risk list, deliver regional engagement activities, and build partnerships with universities and professional networks to foster collaborative initiatives. 

We’re looking for someone with knowledge of planning, conservation and the built environment, proven experience supporting or enabling community groups, and strong communication and project management skills. Experience of partnership development, volunteer coordination are also valuable.

About the Role

This is an exciting and varied opportunity to join Arthritis Action at a pivotal time as we deliver our 2024–2026 strategy. As our Engagement and Events Co-ordinator (Midlands), you’ll play a key role in expanding our reach and impact across the region, ensuring more people have access to our support, resources, and information.

You'll engage with a wide range of communities and professionals and support the delivery of online groups and outreach projects. From working with underrepresented communities to helping us connect with younger adults living with arthritis, this role offers scope to make a real difference.

Key Responsibilities

Community Outreach & Engagement

• Build and maintain relationships with local organisations, healthcare professionals, and community leaders.
• Organise and deliver presentations and outreach activities to promote Arthritis Action's services.
• Actively support the delivery of our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Strategy by engaging with diverse and underrepresented communities across the Midlands, including ethnic minority groups and people in low-income areas.

Online Groups & Events

• Facilitate and support Online Arthritis Action Groups and Self-Management Events, including managing group logistics, promotion, and administration.
• Identify and coordinate guest speakers for group sessions.
• Gather and report feedback to improve service delivery.
• Ensure confidentiality and safeguarding policies are upheld.

Networking & Relationship Building

• Identify and pursue new networking opportunities with community, healthcare, and voluntary sector partners.
• Represent Arthritis Action at regional and national events.
• Support collaboration across projects and teams to maximise impact.

General Duties

• Work closely with the Communications Team to ensure effective promotion of groups and events via social media and the website.
• Maintain up-to-date records, including inputting data into the organisation’s database (eTapestry).
• Attend and contribute to the internal Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Working Group.
• Carry out other duties appropriate to the role as required.

Location & Travel

This is a home-based role located within the Midlands region. The post requires frequent travel throughout the Midlands, and candidates must have access to their own vehicle. Monthly travel to our London office is required. All reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.

You’ll be providing a regular range of innovative and creative activities that will improve confidence and empower people with a learning disability to get involved with ‘Speaking up or Self-Advocacy’ opportunities in the East of the County. This role focuses on providing advocacy for individuals under the Mental Capacity Act (MCA), the Mental Health Act (MHA), and supporting NHS complaints and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS), Care Act processes.

Your role will involve delivering persuasive verbal and written representations on behalf of clients, collaborating with public and voluntary organisations, and taking focused actions to address client issues. This role demands flexibility, excellent communication, and the ability to handle sensitive information confidently.

Pohwer is dedicated to promoting the rights and well-being of individuals in care settings, hospitals and the community . We are seeking a passionate and skilled Independent Advocate to join our team. Hours of Work: Full-time: 37 hours per week, between Monday to Friday, 9 am – 5 pm

Salary: Total salary £24,755.76 Per Annum split between the 2 positions as follows:

User Voice Community Development Worker £15,058.80 (Full Time Equivalent Salary – £25098.00 per annum)

User Voice Development Worker/Independent Advocate Requirements:

1. Proven experience of working with people with learning disabilities, mental health, dementia etc.
2. Experience community engagement including running events.
3. Strong networking skills with the ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
4. Excellent communications skills, able to communicate sensitively and empathetically.
5. Experience providing written reports to a high standard.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with people
7. A Good understanding and experience with IT software packages.
8. Full UK driving licence and access to your own transport, with geographical knowledge of the local area.
