PR & Communications Lead

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced PR & Communications Lead to take ownership of our media strategy and help elevate the Hospice’s profile. You will manage all communications functions including media relations, branding, internal/external messaging, digital content, and event promotion.
Key Duties Include:
- Developing and delivering a PR & communications plan aligned with the Hospice strategy
- Acting as the main point of contact for all media and press enquiries
- Managing the Hospice website, newsletters, and social media presence
- Supporting income generation through high-quality marketing materials
- Writing press releases, managing media visits, and arranging press conferences
- Maintaining consistent branding across all content and publications
- Building strong relationships with internal teams, supporters, and stakeholders
- Monitoring media coverage and evaluating campaign effectiveness
You will have a recognised Public Relations or Journalism qualification (CIPR or NCTJ) and at least one years experience in a media/communications environment. Strong writing, editing, and digital media skills are a must.

Your main role is to be a senior member of the PIRC team, holding responsibility for overseeing PIRC’s strategic direction and vision, programme delivery, representing the organisation at internal and external events, and working with the Head of Operations to ensure the financial health of the organisation.

Location: Hybrid - based at PIRC offices in Machynlleth, as well as your home address, with travel when necessary.
Salary: £42-45,000 (£33-36,000 pro rata). This is the base rate for our socially-just pay policy, which can provide additional salary based on personal need.
Hours: 32 hours over 4 days, usually between Monday to Thursday, with 1:1 toil system (hours or days earned for working beyond your set hours)

Holiday: 28 days (22.5 days pro rata, including bank holidays)
Additional Leave: We operate a two-week (paid) winter closure period. This is non-contractual leave and it does not count towards your annual leave allowance. Closure period dates are reviewed and confirmed annually.

The Role:
Strategic Leadership
- With the Head of Operations, co-lead, as part of a collaborative process with the full staff team, the development and review of the operational strategy and budget
- Plan and facilitate Programme Team Meetings
- Oversee and input into funding applications and reports, including ensuring programme team documents are kept up to date for fundraising
- Working with the fundraiser to identify funding opportunities and attend key funder meetings
- Input into Board development, including regular reports at Board meetings
- Oversee and drive annual, quarterly and monthly planning
- Play an active role in the restructure and its evaluation and review, including development of this role
Team Leadership & People (HR) Management:
- Work closely with delivery staff to set delivery project plans
- Check in regularly with individual Delivery Team members (such as Workshops Lead, Curriculum Lead, Community Lead and Research Lead)
- Support staff to take ownership of and drive forward their areas of work and participate in the overall running of PIRC

Programme Delivery

The Research Manager – Grant funding will work closely with members of the Research Funding team and is responsible for delivering and supporting the charity’s grant-making activities across the full funding lifecycle—from application and peer review to post-award monitoring. This role is vital in advancing ARUK's research objectives and promoting engagement within with ARUK-funded research community. They will be working collaboratively with the wider Research directorate and with other teams, including the Science Communications team and Philanthropy teams.
This role sits in the Research Directorate, an ambitious, supportive and friendly team that funds the best research to transform the lives of people affected by all forms of dementia. We’re looking for someone with research management experience and a good eye for detail who is excited by the opportunities in the dementia research landscape.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
Grants Programme Management
· Lead the operational delivery of grants review and management, from launch to funding decisions.
· Support the Senior Research Manager to develop the Grant Review Board, sub-panels and expert review processes, to support future growth in funding and ensure robust fair assessment of application, in line with AMRC principles.
· Support the Research Contracts Manager with the execution of contractual agreements with research organisations, and post-award management including monitoring research expenditure and post-award change requests.
· Be a Subject Matter Expert for the grants management system and maintain accurate grant records and ensure internal and external stakeholders have access to accurate data.
· Champion the implementation of the new Grants Management system across the organisation.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
· Act as a primary contact for applicants, reviewers, and grant holders.
· Support researchers with guidance throughout the application and award process.
· Work closely with internal teams (e.g. Fundraising, Science Communications) to coordinate grant-related activities and support effective communication of grant information to stakeholders
· Help promote funding opportunities to the research community.
· Represent the charity at relevant external meetings and events.
Management Responsibilities
· Line management of a Research Officer and a Research Executive, effectively delegating work to support delivery of their objectives

What we are looking for:
· Degree in a life science, health-related, or relevant discipline.
· Experience in research funding or grant management, ideally in the charity or academic sector.

South London Citizens
South London Citizens (SLC) is Citizen’s UK second oldest chapter, established in 2004. SLC has over 100 member institutions spread across seven south London boroughs, working together for the common good.
South London Citizens has developed 1000s of local leaders through training and action teams and won big national campaigns, for example delivering free school meals for children whose parents have no recourse to public funds.
The Living Wage campaign is part of SLC’s DNA and in the last 12 months a campaign to bring the Living Wage Campaign to the Southbank has delivered well over 1000 pay rises to south London workers. The Real Living Wage is currently £13.85 in London, compared with the National Minium Wage of £12.21 (for workers aged over 21).
Community Organising
Through our theory of social change, called community organising, we train thousands of everyday people to lead change in their communities, equipping them with the skills to hold politicians and other powerholders to account. We are made up of 500+ member organisations in powerful alliances throughout the UK. Our members include schools, universities, faith groups, parents’ groups, health practices, charities, trade unions and other civil society organisations.
Purpose
The principal responsibility of an Associate Organiser is their own development: learning the craft of Community Organising under the guidance of an experienced Community Organiser. They work intensively with a small number of member organisations under close supervision, growing their experience, skill and responsibility incrementally. An Associate Organiser is working towards becoming a competent practitioner of the craft of broad-based community organising methodology, and focuses on the building of relational power, the recruitment and retention of dues-paying institutions, the development of leaders, the strengthening of member institutions, leader-led public actions, and the winning of systemic change.
This role is particularly to organise around the issue of low pay and precarious work and participate in Citizens UK’s flagship campaign, the Living Wage Campaign. We need someone who can speak Spanish as well as English, as south London’s Latin American communities are leading the work in South London. There is scope to involve leaders in campaigns around housing, health and migrants' rights, as we recognise that people affected by low pay are very often determined to take action on wider issues beyond work. The purpose of the role is to develop leadership, especially grassroots leadership, workers from London’s lowest paid sectors, that can power the campaign. Crucially the Associate Organiser will work with colleagues in South London Citizens to build and execute a strategy that develops powerful leaders for South London Citizens and wins the Living Wage, Living Hours and other material gains for thousands of workers across the capital.
Main Responsibilities
Working as an Associate Organiser in South London for Citizens UK, reporting to the Lead Organiser, South West, SLC, your main responsibilities will include:
Build relational power to further the goals of CUK

Actively participate in the development of a comprehensive power analysis appropriate to the desired sphere of influence for each project/assignment

Our Organisers and some project teams work closely with our member institutions and will be expected to attend member events that take place in the evenings and occasional weekends. About the role
NTD Master plans are essential components for effective planning and implementation of sustainable NTD programmes. It provides programme goals, objectives, and a 3–5-year strategy based on extensive situation analysis and addresses all components of the NTD programmes relevant to the country. It enhances synergies among various NTD initiatives such as Lymphatic Filariasis Elimination (LFE). It also provides the basis for integrated or linked NTD project plans and includes costing and financing requirements for effective NTD programme performance. The current NTD Master Plan elapses at the end of this year, 2025. There is therefore an urgent need to develop a new plan for use in the next five years, 2026-2030.
As the consultant, you will be responsible for reviewing Ghana's existing NTD Master Plan (2021–2025), assess its implementation progress, achievements, and challenges, incorporating stakeholder consultations to align national priorities, best practices, and lessons learned. Based on this assessment, a five-year strategic Master Plan will be developed, outlining a clear intervention strategy, budget allocations, and implementation frameworks. Additionally, the plan will identify funding gaps and propose sustainable financing mechanisms to strengthen NTD elimination efforts while enhancing monitoring and evaluation frameworks to effectively track program impact and effectiveness.

We’re looking for a Creative Content Manager to lead the design and development of powerful visual and video content that brings our work to life. From compelling social videos and campaign assets to reports and print materials, your work will elevate our global brand, engage key audiences, and amplify the voices of the young people we serve.
You'll play a leading role in:
- Designing creative content across digital and print platforms
- Storyboarding and editing videos that inspire action
- Managing and collaborating with external creatives and suppliers
- Overseeing our global content library (DAM) to ensure assets are accessible, impactful and used effectively
You’ll work closely with an experienced marketing team and creative partners across the world, from the United Kingdom to Nigeria, India to Jamaica. This is a unique opportunity to make your mark at an organisation growing in influence, ambition and reach.
What we’re looking for:
- A strong portfolio demonstrating graphic design and video storytelling skills
- A passion for content that informs, moves and inspires
- Experience managing content pipelines and creative suppliers
- An eye for detail and a heart for purpose-driven work
- Experience working with international or culturally diverse audiences
- Confidence using Digital Asset Management systems or content libraries
