Strategy Manager
The Clean Air Fund is looking to recruit a Strategy Manager to join their team in London, Delhi or Accra. This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing organisation whose mission is to use philanthropic grants to catalyse a reduction in air pollution.
The Strategy Manager is responsible for supporting the Senior Leadership Team in the shaping, reviewing and refining of CAF’s strategy at all levels. St Martin-in-the-Fields Charity (SMITFC) is looking for a strategic, relationship-driven Trusts and Foundations Manager to help shape the future of our income generation from charitable trusts and foundations. This is a pivotal role within our Philanthropy, Trusts and Foundations Team, working to ensure that we not only maintain but significantly grow our sustainable income streams in support of people experiencing homelessness and extreme vulnerability.
Working alongside the Philanthropy Manager and Prospect Researcher, this role will be responsible for identifying and securing new 5-6 figure+ gifts, maintaining and deepening engagement with our existing funding partners and developing a pipeline of future funding opportunities designed to spread risk and build for a reliable, realistic income growth over time.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Work with the Head of Philanthropy, Trusts and Foundations (P&TF) to develop the Charity’s Trust and Foundations growth strategy ensuring it maximises sustainable net income from both general and restricted Trust and Foundation funding sources, diversifies income and starts to spread income timelines away from a reliance on our Christmas appeal period.
- Work collaboratively across the charity to acquire an excellent knowledge and understanding of SMITFC values and programmes, to inform the creation of bespoke donor materials, cases for support, funding proposals and reports.
- Lead on the creation and submission of bespoke proposals and reports to existing Trusts and Foundations, maintaining accurate development and submission deadlines and excellent records of progress and outcomes on CRM.
- Lead on the cultivation and maintenance of strong relationships with existing funders and trustees, identifying opportunities for key decision makers to become active and engaged in the Charity’s activities, whilst gaining a greater understanding of a project’s long term aims and consequent impact.
- Work in collaboration with the Prospect Researcher to develop a pipeline of new 5-6 figure + Trusts and Foundations prospects able to give within the next 3 years.
- Lead on the bespoke stewardship and engagement of newly identified 5-6 figure + Trusts and Foundations prospects and ensure that submission deadlines are met, and reporting schedules observed.
- Work with the P&TF team to deliver our annual Christmas Appeal – to include the development of the P&TF Christmas Appeal 2025, deliver the annual Christmas Appeal Launch event, and optimize the use of social medial and other platforms to reach potential new funders over the Christmas period and beyond.
- Work with the P&TF team to develop the high value offering for the 100 Anniversary appeal 2026.
- Ensure that resources and budgets are managed effectively and provide Trust and Foundation fundraising financial information as required by the Head of P&TF – including contributing to income risk assessments, identifying gaps or shifts in funding and support contingency planning with the wider P&TF team.
- Ensure accurate records of funding opportunities, donor contact details and prospect research are maintained across CRM and finance systems.
- Work collaboratively with SMITF partner charities to align stewardship, donor asks and maximise income.
Experience and Skills
We are looking for someone who has:
- A positive, collaborative, creative mindset, who likes working as a part of high functioning team and enjoys building relationships across an organisation whilst having the confidence and autonomy to drive things forward and advocate for doing things differently.
- A strong record of securing and managing major Trust and Foundation partnerships, including six-figure grants.
- Demonstrable experience of building tailored cases for support to a range of funders

To lead the operational delivery, activation, and ongoing management of two new public-facing community assets: an affordable workspace and a smart, environmentally sustainable event space. Key Responsibilities:
Space Setup and Launch
- Oversee handover and mobilisation of the affordable workspace and event hall as they are phased in between Sep–Jan 2025
- Liaise with Brent Council, contractors, and partners during transition and setup
Facilities and Operations Management
- Ensure buildings are safe, welcoming, well-maintained, and sustainably run. Manage contractors responsible for building maintenance and upkeep.

Workspace Activation

About the Role
As Retail Area Manager, you'll be responsible for leading and supporting a portfolio of approximately 10–15 charity shops across your region. Currently, there are 9 shops in this area – located in Cockermouth, Doncaster, Hexham, Matlock, Penrith, South Shields, Ulverston, Wetherby, and Whitby – though this may change as our retail network evolves.
While our long-term vision is to have paid Shop Managers in all our shops, approximately 80% in this area are currently run by volunteers and do not have a paid Manager. You'll work closely with and through volunteer teams (150–200 people) to drive income growth, meet key commercial targets, and deliver an exceptional experience for customers and donors alike.
You'll lead with purpose – inspiring, coaching, and empowering teams while ensuring operational excellence and championing our mission on the high street.

This is a home-based role with regular travel across your region and occasional overnight stays. You will be expected to spend an average of four days per week in the shops and reside within the area served by one of the region's shops.
In this role, you will:
- Act as an ambassador for our brand and retail strategy, motivating and inspiring your teams.
- Line manage Shop Managers, supporting with recruitment, development and performance.
- Lead commercial performance by analysing shop data, identifying opportunities, and making sound commercial decisions.
- Work closely with Business Managers during shop launches/relaunches to ensure successful handovers.
- Support volunteer recruitment, engagement and training with the support of our volunteering team.
- Manage operational and risk-related shop issues, escalating where necessary.
About You
You're an experienced and commercially minded retail leader with a proven track record in managing multi-site operations, ideally in a charity or high-street retail environment. You lead with strength and kindness, combining strategic thinking with a hands-on, supportive approach.
You'll bring:
- Extensive multi-site retail management experience – essential for overseeing a large, dispersed region.
- A strong commercial background, with a focus on delivering results through data-driven decision-making and KPIs.
- Experience leading and motivating diverse, remote teams, including volunteer-led shops – 7 out of 9 stores in this region currently operate without paid Shop Managers.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire others, lead by example, listen actively, and offer clear, timely feedback.
- A deep understanding of volunteer engagement, with the ability to attract, retain, and motivate volunteer teams.
- A collaborative, non-judgemental approach, fostering an inclusive and supportive culture.
- A full UK driving licence and the flexibility to travel regularly across the region, with occasional overnight stays.
- Residency within or near one of the listed shop locations: Cockermouth, Doncaster, Hexham, Matlock, Penrith, South Shields, Ulverston, Wetherby, or Whitby.

About the role
We’re looking for a passionate and driven Service Manager to lead our team at Birkenhead Street, a 31-bed hostel in Camden offering 24-hour supported accommodation to single adults. This is a unique opportunity to shape a service that puts people first, working in a trauma-informed and person-centred way.
What You’ll Be Doing
As Service Manager, you’ll be at the heart of the service, responsible for both strategic development and day-to-day operations. You’ll lead, motivate and support a dedicated team including a Deputy Manager, Project Workers, Duty and Night Staff, Cleaners, and locums. In addition to:
- Manage the service rota and ensure smooth operational delivery.
- Build strong partnerships with external agencies to enhance outcomes for residents.
- Champion inclusive support, including working closely with the Women’s Safe Space to address the specific needs of female residents.
- Ensure the service meets contractual obligations and reflects best practice.
- Continuously review and improve service delivery in line with St Mungo’s policies.
- Support residents with high-quality, strengths-based care and advice tailored to their goals.
- Monitor budgets and provide insightful reports using both quantitative and qualitative data.

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Store Manager to join Barnardo's on a Full Time, Fixed Term Basis until December 2026.
As a Store Manager you will manage the day to day running of our Harrogate Store, leading a team of colleagues to maximise store sales and profits. By doing so you will play a crucial role in raising the funds for the amazing services and support Barnardo's provides for children, young people, parents, and carers across the UK.
Location: Units 3 & 4 Ground Floor, Plots 46-48 Yearlstone Square, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, MK6 4AT
Working Pattern: As the store is open 7 days a week, the successful post holder will be required to on a rota basis which will include weekend, evening, and bank holiday working.
There is free parking outside the store and extensive and regular bus routes.
Some but not all key responsibilities are:
- Ensuring stock is generated over the door by members of the public and donors sign up to the Gift Aid scheme.
- Ensure that the high standard of service to customers that is expected by Barnardo's is maintained at all times.
- Implement promotions in the Store as directed by Head Office or your Area Business Manager.
- Maintain a high standard of presentation, both in the windows and the interior of the Store.
- Ensure there is adequate stock available on the shop floor, at all times, on all key lines
- Provide training, development, work reviews and appraisals for paid staff to enable them to perform their jobs efficiently and effectively.
- Create an organised and pleasant working environment for staff and volunteers.
- Actively recruit the correct/specified number volunteers to deliver the stores objectives and KPI's.
- Ensure all financial, cash handling and security procedures are adhered to as per the Barnardo's Manager's Manual and the relevant Retail procedures.
- Hold the shop keys, ensuring that the shop is secure whenever it is left unattended.
Idea Candidates Must Haves:
- Ability to deliver excellent customer service.
- Experience of managing people
- Ability to liaise and respond to a variety of people from varying backgrounds.
- Ability to meet the needs of customers on a face-to-face basis, in order to generate sales and increase customer usage of the shop.
- Ability to add, subtract, divide, and multiply up to four figures in order to maintain budgets and complete accurately weekly income/banking sheets.
- Ability to handle cash and reconcile accurately.
- Proven experience of meeting targets and KPI's.
- Basic IT skills.
