Swindon’s welcome, accessible space in the heart of the town is looking for two Hub Coordinators - to help us grow, build and do more: by and with the community. It's a great chance to get active and make a real difference in this diverse town.

You’ll be working with a dynamic group of volunteers and visitors, helping to keep the Hub running day-to-day, as well as taking on a special focus of your own.

One special focus will be reaching out and drawing in: connecting with communities, groups and people around Swindon who are not using the Hub; building relationships, working in partnership and organising events and activities to see that the Hub is as inclusive and diverse as it can be.

The other special focus will be learning, skills & growing: supporting volunteers and visitors to the Hub, developing programmes of activities and opportunities - both internal and working with external partners - to help people learn, develop and grow.

Salary is £28,000 - £32,000 depending on experience. Hours are 37 hours/week full time - applications for  job-share / part-time considered. It's a fixed term contract: 3 years, with possibility of extension

The purpose of the Mental Wellbeing Coordinator role is to manage and lead the development and delivery of peer support services via our Grassroot organisation partners in the Mental wellbeing programme addressing health inequalities in the borough of Haringey including managing and supporting our Grassroot organisations to deliver 1-2-1 wellbeing activities a week for their respective communities.

This Mental wellbeing coordinator role is part of the Haringey mental wellbeing programme, which is community based mental wellbeing support service, supporting individuals with moderate mental health problems. This role will also include outreach into the community working alongside the Grassroots organisations to ensure the successful delivery of these weekly wellbeing activities. The Mental Wellbeing Coordinator is to ensure that all services are delivered together in a seamless manner to support service members across the borough.

Main Responsibilities:

 Plan and deliver a structured programme of enjoyable, recreational, high-quality activities to meet the needs of children and young people with additional needs and disabilities who attend Short Breaks clubs

Lead and line manage a team of workers and volunteers, and to assist in the recruitment and training of the Disability sessional team

To coordinate and take responsibility for the planning, allocation of places, and staffing to ensure safe delivery of Short Breaks clubs

Have responsibility for processing of new referrals, initial assessments and individual care plans and any associated risk assessments

To develop strategies and behavioural support plans for young people attending activities and access YMCA Disability Services

To be aware of Ofsted requirements and ensure Short Breaks clubs for children are compliant, with ongoing monitoring

Administer medication for children and young people with health needs and undergo relevant training and transfer this knowledge onto the staff team

Work closely with individual children and young people and their families to identify a range of social, recreational and leisure activities to meet the needs of young people and children

Ensure that all young people are made to feel valued and enabled to develop and improve self-esteem, life skills, self-confidence and positive experiences

To gain young people’s feedback and capture their voice in shaping and evaluating future club sessions

Work as part of the delivery team, initiate programmed activities, alongside additional opportunities

To be responsible for the Health and Safety of children, young people and staff, above all, ensuring that Safeguarding Children and Safeguarding Adults at Risk policies are adhered to

Provide information, guidance and advice for parent/carers about local services for young people and families

DESCRIPTION

Job Purpose:To coordinate and deliver an exciting range of Short Breaks activity clubs for children and young people aged5 - 17 with additional needs and disabilities at weekends and school holidays.

About us: Tender is an arts charity working with children and young people to prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence through creative projects. Since 2003, Tender’s work has grown and diversified from a single workshop programme delivered to schools, into a broader range of programmes reaching both children and young people and professionals with a safeguarding responsibility such as teachers, youth workers, social care workers and foster carers. About the role: We now have a need for a coordinator to work closely with the whole development team (comprising a Development Director, Development Manager, Development Officer, Major Donor Consultant and the CEO) in coordinating all aspects of our fundraising work, from identifying prospects, creating compelling funding applications through to successfully managing relationships with funders. This role will give you experience of all of our funding streams, as well as exposure to our funders through your work in organising and managing our various events throughout the year, such as our annual awards.

• Supporting all members of the Development team to achieve the team’s annual fundraising targets
• Preparing and submitting applications in support of fundraising from trusts & foundations, statutory funders, corporates, major donors, and individual givers

The post holder will be responsible for providing a seamless experience for members wanting to join the ESU or for those renewing their membership. · Maintain records of international ESUs and support the Director of Global Engagement with sending communications to this group.

We're looking for a confident, enthusiastic individual who can help us to get more people involved in shaping Lancashire Mind.

Lancashire Mind is a local charity working to prevent poor mental health. We support people experiencing common mental health conditions, such as anxiety and depression. We work with children and adults, offering universal services to help people improve their mental wellbeing, along with targeted services for people and communities at increased risk of experiencing poor mental health or facing mental health inequalities. We’re working towards a Lancashire where everyone can have the best mental health and wellbeing possible.

We have a responsibility to engage the communities we serve, to make sure we know and understand them. It's vital we do this to identify need and understand barriers and to design services alongside people. We do this well on an individual service level, with many of our projects designed with the people who use them but we need to improve how we involve people with lived experience in organisation-wide development plans and key decision making.

To help us work towards our plans for embedding participation, we're looking for someone to join our Engagement and Inclusion Team to work with the communities we aim to serve, with a focus on those who are underrepresented within Lancashire Mind services. The role has been designed to ensure that the experiences, perspectives and ideas of local people are being listened to and acted upon.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working within communities and knowledge of the barriers that people face to achieving mental wellbeing and accessing services. You'll be confident, creative and able to work autonomously in the community, where you'll communicate with a wide range of people and quickly build rapport.

The focus of the role will be to ensure that more people with lived experience of poor mental health know who Lancashire Mind are, what we do and how they can influence our work. You'll work with the Community Engagement Projects Lead to create a range of opportunities for people to participate, including establishing formal structures, for example a lived experience panel and youth advisory group, which you'll design with the people who want to get involved. You'll work with colleagues across all teams to ensure opportunities to influence Lancashire Mind's work are promoted to everyone who uses our services.

About the role:

The MARAC Coordinator will coordinate, administer, and manage the operation of the MARAC. One of the main purposes of the role is to bring together agencies to ensure that local systems are truly keeping survivors safe, holding perpetrators to account, and preventing domestic abuse. A key principle of the post is respecting the independence of each agency and ensuring the MARAC’s key principles are survivor’s and children’s safety, offender accountability and giving a clear message that domestic abuse is s crime that will not be tolerated. The post holder will be located in Brent, and will meet MARAC partners in a variety of settings in the community. The post holder will also spend time raising awareness of the service, domestic abuse, and the MARAC in addition to training agencies on the MARAC and inducting new MARAC representatives on the MARAC.

The post holder will have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on women and children, of best practice in supporting survivors of domestic abuse, and of the MARAC. The post holder will also have a good understanding of managing a project.

About You:

To be successful as the MARAC Co-ordinator you will need the below experience and skills:

Excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on women and children, of best practice in supporting survivors of domestic abuse, and of the MARAC.

Thorough knowledge of safeguarding practice, procedures and legislation

A good understanding of the importance of confidentiality and anti-discriminatory practice, safe practice and health and safety procedures

Experience of risk and needs assessment, safety and support planning, and crisis planning and successfully managing high numbers of referrals

A clear understanding of the coordinated community response to domestic violence and abuse, how it relates to MARAC in particular, and experience of the purpose and workings of MARAC 

Experience of supervision/coaching of staff or volunteers, of managing performance and achieving targets through review of individual and team practice

Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills; including report writing, data collection and monitoring

Good understanding of managing a project

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR

MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full-Time or Part-time (14-35 hours per week). If part-time agreed then additional hours may sometime be required and can be taken as Time Off In Lieu.

The charity’s inaugural Marketing and Communications Coordinator will be responsible for all aspects of marketing, comms and PR of our Community Hubs, with a focus on our Oldbury Court Hub. The role will drive enhancements to the charity’s engagement and impact which will secure further support and resources for its critical work.

The postholder will work with colleagues in delivering regular communications output, events and campaigns, and in building and managing networks of local stakeholders and partners.

Training Link is recruiting a new Green Learning Coordinator who will develop and run environmental workshops for local residents in Somers Town, Camden.

The purpose of the role is to design and deliver a new Green Learning programme for Training Link and to support residents in Somers Town in their journey to becoming cleaner and greener through community engagement, training and project delivery.

About Training Link

Training Link is a small charity with nearly 40 years’ experience of supporting people in Somers Town. We offer courses for adults to help people get a job or return to work, often after a long absence. Many of our learners are reluctant to go to a large adult education college where in practice they would receive little individual support in their learning; we offer a supportive, friendly learning environment where people feel comfortable and welcomed.  Current classes include ESOL, IT and Maths. We also provide one to one sessions for those needing support around literacy. 

Purpose of the role: 

• To design and deliver new Green Learning programme for Training Link.
• To develop and run high quality, engaging, fun and interactive community-based environmental awareness classes and activities tailored to adult learners, including learners speaking English as a second language.
• To support residents in Somers Town in their journey to becoming cleaner and greener through community engagement, training and project delivery.
• To help Training Link team to positively engage and communicate with local residents and community leaders/ groups on climate emergency and positive actions.
• To create a welcoming, inclusive and positive learning environment.
• To enable those learners who wish to study further to gain an accredited qualification in Environmental Awareness, including environmental awareness in the workplace.

Key Responsibilities: 

• To record and monitor learners’ attendance, progression and achievement.
• To contribute to the evaluation of teaching and learning to inform future planning, ensuring learner involvement in the process.
• To keep up to date with local and wider issues related to the Climate Emergency, from a lay person’s perspective.
• To liaise with the Director and participate in the appraisal process when required.
• To carry out duties with due regard to Training Link’s Equality and Diversity, Information, Governance, Data Protection, Safeguarding, and Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• To ensure that each learner provides personal information as required, and complete a learner agreement enrolment form and evaluation form at the end of the course. To keep a register for each session.
• To signpost learners to other courses, services and activities as appropriate
• To complete forms for the National Open College Network and any other external assessment body.

Essential Requirements for the Role

• Knowledge and Qualifications:
• Good understanding of the Climate Crisis and what can be done at a grass roots level to address it.
• An adult teaching or coaching qualification is desirable, or willingness to be working towards one.
• Ability to think creatively and use judgement, experience and initiative to solve problems
• An aptitude for collaboration and cross team working
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
• Ability to engage and communicate effectively with all sections of the community, in a variety of situations, including the confidence to present to different and represent Training Link at events
• An understanding of the importance of diversity and inclusion.
• A can-do attitude
• Ideally a good knowledge of the Somers Town area (not essential but desirable)

Experience

• Experience of teaching adults on a paid or voluntary basis.
• Experience of community engagement with proven positive results
• Experience of managing local community projects supporting vulnerable adults
• Experience of working or volunteering in Somers Town is desirable

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to plan interesting lessons and activities appropriate to adult learners from a variety of cultural and educational backgrounds.
• Ability to develop effective teaching materials of a high standard and appropriate to the needs of learners.
• Ability to evaluate and track learner progress and set individual learning goals.
• Ability to assess learner work for the National Open College Network for learners who want an accredited qualification.
• Ability to use ICT and E-learning in teaching and course planning.
• Ability to maximise retention and achievement of learners.
• Effective communication and inter-personal skills.
• Flexibility to deliver learning in community venues in Camden, including some work in the evenings and on Saturdays.

Key Accountabilities:

• Own the recruitment journey, from working with hiring managers in the crafting of job descriptions and compelling job adverts to welcoming new starters on board
• Get into the details of the employee life-cycle; onboarding, offboarding and everything in-between, making sure everyone feels valued and supported from day one
• Strive for continuous improvement in our HR processes and maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance with the latest regulations
• Be involved in the development, implementation and management of supportive and user-friendly policies and procedures that are aligned with our values
• Coordinating online and face-to-face training for mandatory courses and skills development
• Alongside the HR Manager, you’ll be the go-to for colleague queries, providing guidance with consideration and confidentiality
