Job Duties and Responsibilities

1. Create and curate content for digital marketing campaigns to support the strategic objectives of the Charity.

2. Devise and deliver marketing campaigns that: raise awareness of mental health issues, promote good mental health, promote our services and drive service enquiries and self-referrals.

3. Devise and deliver campaigns that promote and inspire engagement and fundraising support in the community, and generate leads for sponsorship, training delivery, and charity of the year or similar.

4. Support volunteer recruitment and fundraising through marketing and communications activities.

5. Prepare press releases and secure media coverage to promote Darlington Mind objectives, policy positions and/or events.

6. Develop and manage a pipeline of events and campaigns for community fundraising, inclusive of events by Darlington Mind and those within the community, and identify prospects for key supporters of those events.

7. Deliver creative communications to generate new leads for donor and commercial income. Identify and build relationships with new prospects for community fundraising; convert fundraising and support leads into effective fundraising activities and events

• To be responsible for identifying and delivering key income streams, as outlined in the commercial strategy to meet agreed financial targets and KPIs.
• To manage existing and develop new relationships with customers to ensure customer satisfactions whilst achieving and maximising income opportunities. 
• Measure and evaluate the success of the commercial strategy business development and income generation workstreams.
• To represent the NFCC to corporate audiences and at corporate events, delivering pitches and presentations.
• To continually be researching new business opportunities for specific target markets. 
• To develop new corporate partnerships through relationship building.
• To be responsible for the account management of appropriate partnerships and provide the highest level of relationship management.
• Preparation of reports, briefing papers and other information on various matters, when required.to the senior management team and Trustees including liaison with senior members and officers across the National Fire Chiefs Council, other relevant staff across Fire and Rescue Services.
• Act as liaison and first point of contact for commercial enquiries into the NFCC and  dealing with them as appropriate. Enquiries may be from within the organisation, other fire and rescue services or elsewhere. 
• To create and assist in the drafting of timely and well-informed reports, business cases and provide advice regarding commercial developments.
• Develop an effective network with Fire and Rescue Service sector groups and other internal and external stakeholders. 
• Establish and maintain management processes and systems that provide for clear and understandable management information.

Main responsibilities

Duties and key responsibilities: 

Office Maintenance

• Oversee the general maintenance of the office.
• Manage office supplies by tracking office inventory and replenishing supplies including kitchen and stationery.

• Organise travel and accommodation bookings across the whole charity including fundraising events.

• Make any bookings and arrangements for the team that involve financial transactions, for example booking travel, conferences, training courses, flowers for supporters and event purchases.
• Provide meeting room management, including bookings and catering.
• Carry out ad hoc administrative tasks for other departments when requested e.g. fundraising and information send outs during busy periods or absence.

Health & Safety

• Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, maintaining a safe working environment in the office. This
• Regular health and safety inspections of the office and workstations.
• Carry out regular DSE tests
• Arranging regular PAT tests
• Cary out fire risk assessments (training will be provided)
• First aid assistance and maintain the first aid supplies (training will be provided)
•  Review and update the health and safety policy.

• Support the operations team when required, this will include finance, database, and HR functions.

Role Purpose: As an Operations Officer, you'll provide crucial administrative support to the teams and ensure the office spaces are conducive to productivity and safety. We're looking for a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Handle incoming phone calls and email inquiries.
• Sort and distribute post and deliveries.
• Maintain IT equipment register and assist with staff onboarding.
• Manage petty cash and office supplies.
• Liaise with contractors and suppliers.
• Coordinate staff inductions and site orientations.
• Assist with health and safety matters and first aid supplies.
• Handle other administrative tasks as directed.

Person Specification:

• Previous administrative or office support experience.

• Strong organisation, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build effective relationships.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Passion for exceptional customer service and diversity.

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience in staff onboarding/offboarding processes.
• Voluntary sector experience.
• First Aid qualification.

Will you join us?

The purpose of this job is to contribute to the delivery of Mind's media strategy in Wales.

This includes securing target levels of media coverage and building and maintaining contacts with Welsh and English language journalists across national, local and trade media in Wales. Raising Mind Cymru's profile, promoting the work of Mind and the local Mind network in Wales and improving media portrayals and public perceptions of mental health issues.

As Senior Media and PR Officer (Wales) you will be a part of the Mind Cymru directorate and report to the Head of Communications, Marketing and Media (Wales). You will also work closely with the Mind Media and PR team, in particular the Head of News, in Mind's Social Change directorate.

You will devise and implement media strategies including press releases, celebrity engagement, photo and filming opportunities and digital content for organisational campaigning, policy and profile-raising priorities in Wales. You will also handle reactive enquires on the news desk, provide media support to our network of local Minds and shops and provide support with reputational risk issues.

Key responsibilities

-To provide an effective service to media professionals, including journalists and producers, by coordinating Mind's response to media enquiries and assisting and advising other Mind Cymru staff when handling media enquiries.

-To cultivate new and nurture existing media contacts, building Mind Cymru's credibility and establishing effective working relationships with journalists across Welsh and English language media in Wales.

-To devise and implement proactive media plans to support Mind's campaigns and promote the work of the federation, working in an integrated way with programme leads across the charity to identify and maximise key opportunities to use the media as a vehicle to influence policy and decision making.

-To work alongside Mind Cymru's policy and campaigns colleagues to develop media responses to major Welsh Government announcements and high-profile policy issues, producing press releases, quotes and social media posts and briefing/advising spokespeople including the Director of Mind Cymru and other members of the senior leadership team.

-To make sure the media team involves people with direct experience of mental health problems through identifying case studies from a full range of diverse backgrounds and that appropriate advice and support is given to people involved with Mind's media work. Including celebrities and influencers with experience of mental health.

-To organise media interviews as required with Mind Cymru Director, other Mind Cymru spokespeople and service users, providing them with full pre- and post-interview briefings.

-To provide advice to Mind Cymru staff, local Minds, shops and other relevant individuals and organisations on how to maximise media opportunities.

-To represent and promote Mind's media function at external events and meetings when required.

-To work in partnership with other organisations to develop joint media responses on Mind's coalition work.
