The Autism Centre of Excellence exists to improve access to high quality support and remove barriers and stigma for autistic people, but to do this we need to grow our funding.

We aim to raise £5 million over the next five years to increase our reach, impact and activities, whilst creating a sustainable and predictable income stream for the charity. To do this we need to systematically build a pipeline of donors and supporters, to build profile and new relationships. In the short term we need someone who can lead the development of a series of applications to trusts, foundations and other sources of funding to support our priority workstreams.

Main duties and Responsibilities

• Primary focus will be on managing and soliciting income from your own portfolio of high value trusts, foundations and statutory funders, securing gifts of between £10,000 - £1,000,000 to successfully achieve the charity’s ambitious fundraising targets.
• Secondary focus will be on the planning and delivery of first-class Special Events and Major Donor fundraising.
• Create a robust prospect pipeline of effectively researched and qualified funders, ensuring a continued flow of prospects through the pipeline, taking a sales approach to lead generation and the assessment of the warmth and value donors.
• Deliver effective research of prospective and existing donors, which enables us to raise significant income through both new and existing relationships; utilising our networks effectively.
• Implement effective cultivation and stewardship journeys that provides a high-quality supporter experience to your portfolio of donors and prospects.
• Deliver first-class relationship management to ensure excellent ongoing relationships with donors in both a written and face-to-face capacity.
• Deliver exceptional writing skills through proposal and bid writing and day-to-day communication with donors and colleagues.
• Fully understand the charity’s projects and activities to both ascertain their suitability as funding propositions and communicate them in a compelling manner to funders.
• Work closely with operational colleagues to develop compelling and thorough cases for support to inform our research and fundraising strategies.

Pratham is one of the largest and most respected education charities in India. We developed a model that can teach a child to read and do basic maths in as little as 30 days for £14. We also have preschool, vocational and women's education programmes.

While you will work in a small, fully remote team day to day, you will be part of the global Pratham network. The team in India has over 6,000 staff, and they raise $28m locally. Pratham USA has 14 chapters and produces around 12 galas a year, which contributes to its $30m income; you can share the films and branding of their galas, meaning we can really stretch our budget to put on an outstanding event. 

We are a small team, and whilst an events person is vital for our development if someone wanted to get involved in other fundraising streams, particularly corporate or major donors, we would be delighted to read about it in your application and discuss it at the interview or in a call before the interview—which are welcomed.

All current staff have visited India to see the programmes, and whilst we can't guarantee you a visit as we grow, it remains an ambition. Job Title: Partnership Development Manager

Salary: £34,500.

Contract Type: Contract for 18 months; there is a strong possibility that currently anticipated growth in the team may see this role become permanent during the contract term. The latest research suggesting that the number of children and young people at risk of hunger has rocketed to three million means that one in five children don't have enough to eat.   

When a child is too hungry to learn, when they’re aching for something to eat, they can’t concentrate. They can’t absorb information. Big feelings and worries can be impossible to control. They fall behind in their studies.  

Magic Breakfast provide a nutritious and filling breakfast to over 200,000 children and young people every school day. We work with schools in areas of high disadvantage, helping staff target the children most in need without barrier or stigma.   

Magic Breakfast are ambitious to grow our impact in order to remove hunger as a barrier to learning for all children and young people in the UK. To do this, we need to continue to grow our fundraised income, of which new corporate income is a significant element.

• Making use of multiple tactics to secure meetings with prospects including, for example, cold calling, emailing, running events, event networking and social selling on platforms like LinkedIn.
• Ensuring that risk-screening and due diligence processes have been completed in line with Magic Breakfast’s Ethical Fundraising and Due Diligence policies. 
• Understanding each prospect’s strategic interests through meetings, discussions and research and defining the mutual advantage in partnership. 
• Developing and delivering engaging, relevant and impactful pitches and written proposals to prospective partners.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a disease of the brain and spinal cord which affects different people in different ways. There are currently 2.9 million people in the world living with MS and currently there is no cure. But, Overcoming MS provides hope through lifestyle changes which are backed by scientific research and which enables sufferers to lead a full and healthy life with MS.

Reporting to the CEO and managing a small team of two, we are looking for support to create long-term and sustainable income streams that allow us to plan for strategic growth. This is likely to involve building a pipeline of corporate partners, major donors, and legacy pledgers to grow income over the medium to longer term as well as managing and developing relationships with prospective high value donors.

The appointed candidate is likely to bring demonstrable experience of developing and implementing fundraising strategies, regularly reviewing them and monitoring against KPIs. You are likely to be a strategic and creative thinker with an entrepreneurial spirit in order to be able to identify and harness new opportunities and trends to drive income growth. As such a solid understanding of income generation opportunities outside of regular fundraising income streams would be helpful.

We are recruiting a Trust Fundraiser to work with the Trusts and Statutory Fundraising Manager to grow and develop the vital trust income stream through the delivery of the trust fundraising pipeline.

Job Responsibilities

Trust and foundations

• Update the trusts and foundations database and managing the pipeline of activity
• Prepare tailored applications to trusts and foundations
• Manage reporting deadlines to funders
• Work closely with the artistic teams and Executive Director to shape proposals
• Create budgets working with the Executive Director, Finance Director, Artistic Directors and Project Leads 

Individual and Corporate Giving

• Create individual giving schemes, exploring the potential for new initiatives such as membership and legacy programmes
• Cultivate relationships with potential individuals and steward donors
• Research potential corporate supporters – both corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sponsorship
• Pitch to potential donors and supporters

Event Planning

• Create a programme of cultivation events which could:

- thank and nurture existing donors

- act as a precursor to giving

- introduce individuals and companies to potential campaigns

- begin new relationship development

Good practice, such as ethical fundraising

• Development of an ethical fundraising statement, in partnership with Executive and Board
• Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations
• Supporting team in being part of a fundraising culture

General

• Day to day management of fundraising budget, creating and monitoring income targets and delivering compelling company messaging around charitable giving on and offline. 

Ideal candidates will have skills and experience as shown in the candidate pack including:

• Evidence of alignment with charity’s vision, mission, values and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
• Lived experience of disabling or marginalising barriers.
• Understanding and experience of performing arts landscape, key figures, organisations and funders.
• A curious, inclusive, flexible and collaborative working style with proven ability to work as part of a team across all levels.​.
• Clear communicator, team player, tolerant of other views.
• Fundraising track record, delivering against targets (in a similar sized arts or not-for-profit) and of securing significant donations at the five-figure level or more.
• Experience of monitoring and reporting against targets and managing budgets.
• Adept at supporting and structuring negotiations and at building relationships with stakeholders including Arts Council England.
• Thorough knowledge of the relevant fundraising legislation, regulations and financial issues and fundraising obligations of arts charities/Arts Council National Portfolio Organisations.
• Strong literacy, administrative, time management and organisational skills.
• Proactive approach to continuing professional development.
• Experience of dealing with public sector organisations at a senior level.
• Membership of relevant educational and/or professional bodies.

We’re recruiting for an experienced Philanthropy Manager whose area of expertise securing multi-year, six-figure gifts from grant-making organisations; developing and managing a trusts and grants pipeline, including the application and reporting process, in order to build a reliable and sustainable income stream. The postholder will be responsible for all areas of trusts and grants fundraising, including writing compelling applications that solicit funding for Life’s vital work as well as reporting on our service delivery outcomes, maximising the opportunities for renewed funding. 

The Philanthropy Manager (Trusts, Grants and Foundations) will be responsible for delivering a strategic approach to trusts, grants and foundations; working with service delivery areas of the organisation as well as the finance department, in order to create compelling projects, with measurable outcomes that can be reported on. The postholder will be able to articulate these projects into cases for support within written applications, matching projects with appropriate funders and delivering a compelling ask. This role requires the development of a trusts, grants and foundations pipeline, from research through to reporting, ensuring a sustainable and maximised income stream.
