The Role

You will be an exemplary relationship builder and have experience in developing multi-faceted corporate partnerships. About the role:

The fundraising team raise approximately £400K annually and aspiring to grow by over half a million by 2025. You will be responsible for leading and growing income via the charities Corporate Partnerships and Sporting Challenges. The ideal candidate will have high-level experience in corporate fundraising.

Key responsibilities include:

About you:

To be successful in this role you will have:

• A proven track record of successfully managing a charity’s corporate partnerships and sporting challenges.

The AKU Society, a charity supporting patients with the rare genetic disease alkaptonuria, is seeking a Fundraising and Communications Officer to join their team. About the role

The hospice has ambitious growth plans for fundraising, to enable as many people as possible to access their crucial services. You’ll lead the Community Engagement team to successfully deliver across a diverse fundraising portfolio, including corporate partnerships, major donors and individual giving, trusts and foundations, legacies and community.

Taking the lead on developing and delivering an innovative fundraising strategy, your task will be to diversify income streams in a way that aligns with the hospice’s overall purpose, vision and values. You’ll also provide empowering and encouraging leadership that inspires the team to flourish.

About you

This is a leadership role at heart, so you’ll need to be strategically-minded with a management style that brings out the best in people, and takes them on a journey with you.

We’re looking for someone with a significant fundraising track record in their own right. It’s a small but mighty fundraising team, so you’ll still get a kick from hands-on fundraising and engagement with supporters.

You’ll balance ambition and drive with the creativity and curiosity to try new things, and at the same time, honour the success and history of the hospice’s fundraising to date.

About MenWalkTalk

MenWalkTalk is a registered charity in England which aims to support an improvement of mental health in men of all ages by engaging in a walking group which is proven to be beneficial to their mental and physical wellbeing. The Stigma around Men’s mental health needs to be broken. MenWalkTalk also aims to reduce social isolation for men and provide signposting to specialist support for those who may be experiencing mental health problems. We want to provide volunteer-led walking groups in every county across England and then the UK. Our volunteers have mental health first aid training as a minimum and their aims are to discuss mental health within their walking groups, in a caring, supportive, and non-judgemental manner. We currently have 22 walk-leaders and 5 campaigners, all of which are volunteers.

Job Description – about the role

We are seeking to hire a self-motivated and enthusiastic Fundraising Officer to work with the charity team and to support the activities of the organisation.

The ideal candidate will possess a wide range of skills and be interested in playing a key role within a small and committed team, supporting the Trustees and Fundraising & Marketing Committee with the organisation’s activities.

As a Fundraising Officer your primary responsibility will be to develop, engage and grow corporate, trust, and individual supporters to help MenWalkTalk achieve its goals. Working closely with the CEO and Trustees. You'll contribute to the team by conducting research, managing appeals and fundraising efforts, handling administrative tasks, and providing event support across our team.
