Working within the Individual Giving team, you’ll have a varied role managing and supporting the delivery of supporter-centric fundraising appeals which will recruit, retain and/or develop supporters across the cause-led, gaming, in memory and legacy programmes. These appeals will include utilising online and offline channels such as direct mail, organic and paid social advertising, email, private sites, SMS and telemarketing.

JOB PURPOSE

UK for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency's national charity partner, is looking for an ambitious and proactive team player who can join us as a Senior Officer, Direct Marketing, within the Individual Giving Team.  

In this exciting role, you will be responsible for some of our key donor development activities: you will be a confident communicator and experienced project manager, with a strong knowledge of donor development key touchpoints and best practice, as well as a tracked record of managing telemarketing and Direct Mail campaigns

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead on the overall donor development offline programme for both cash and committed donors, ensuring a strong onboarding and onward journey is in place, and that key touchpoints are leveraged to deepen engagement and increase donors’ Lifetime Value.
• Work with digital fundraising colleagues to create integrated, multichannel campaigns and an effective, donor-first giving journey.
• Provide colleagues with strategic guidance, and technical support if required, to deliver warm appeals via Direct Mail that meet six-figures campaign targets.
• Manage our Telemarketing programme, to successfully launch and deliver activities such as conversion, upgrade, reactivation, and welcome calling.
• Ensure an insight-led thanking programme is in place, with key moments identified throughout the year to acknowledge support and communicate impact.
• Work with key stakeholders across digital and offline teams to ensure we maintain a strong retention rate whilst growing our Regular Giving file.
• Remain flexible and rapidly respond to emergency situations.
• Work with our Data team to identify the best approach to data and segmentation for each project.
• Manage production processes, developing supplier briefs and managing approval stages and end of campaign reviews.
• Work with our suppliers to ensure campaign fulfilment is in place and collaborate with our Supporter Care function to monitor responses and identify issues/opportunities.
• Ensure cost effective fundraising, manage individual campaign budgets and identify opportunities to improve ROIs.
• Stay up to date with issues affecting displaced & refugee communities, campaigns from international teams and reports from the field. Scope new fundraising themes.
• Share creative and insights with UK colleagues, global markets and HQ, participating in training seminars, workshops and international skill shares where applicable.

Essential Experience 

• Experience of working in a fundraising environment, ideally in a medium-to-big-size charity.
• Experience in managing onboarding and ongoing donor development activities.

About the role

Reporting in to the Church & Supporter Engagement Lead, the Church Engagement & Fundraising Advisor will lead and inspire a team of Church Engagement & Fundraising Officers, ensuring exceptional stewardship and engagement with churches, Christian Aid groups,
and the wider public to support Christian Aid’s values and goals.

The post-holder will oversee the stewardship of existing churches, re-engage lapsed supporters, and acquire new ones while equipping and motivating supporters to give, act, and pray against global poverty and injustice.

Some of the main responsibilities of the Church Engagement & Fundraising Advisor will include:

• Management of a team of Church Engagement & Fundraising Officers, fostering a collaborative mindset and creating an environment that promotes the exchange of ideas and knowledge.
• Build trusted relationships with churches, groups, and individuals, ensuring strong connections between teams for effective stewardship and seamless information-sharing.

About Breadwinners

Breadwinners is a multi-award-winning social enterprise and charity that supports young people seeking asylum and refugees to have their first work experience in the UK, selling organic baked goods. Since 2016, we have steadily grown, and we are looking for our first Senior Fundraising Manager to help us take the next step in our growth journey. Breadwinner's unique model provides work, training and personal mentors, so that young refugees can start and progress in their careers, using our platform as a stepping stone. We achieve this goal through three consecutive programmes, using our award-winning bread stalls in markets across London and Brighton and wholesale for socially-minded cafes and restaurants.

Over the last 7 years, we have made a significant impact in supporting over 744+ programme participants, with an impressive 93% reporting notable improvements in their overall well-being, 76% of our Breadwinners programme participants progress into work, further education or volunteering, and all this while minimising our Carbon Footprint by 20.5% through the sale of organic goods. This year, we are planning to double our impact with young refugees, with recently secured funding, new markets, and a focus on our wholesale model.

1. Risers programme: A two-month early intervention programme designed to provide structured work experience, training, and mentorship to newly arrived young people seeking asylum through our 18 stalls.

2. Breadwinners programme: The follow-up programme for refugees with the right to work, which involves working as a market stall manager for six months and earning the UK living wage.

3. Proofers programme: A progression programme that entails working remotely as part-time online sales representatives for six months, managing our wholesale delivery model.

We’re looking for someone passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young refugees and people seeking asylum. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of strategic thinking, hands-on fundraising experience, excellent communication skills and a strong sense of purpose. Responsibilities

Fundraising from Trusts and Foundations

• Identify and research new funding opportunities to build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospects.

• Write and develop compelling funding proposals for both new and existing trust and foundation partners.

• Lead on securing six-figure grants for the forthcoming year, working closely with a part-time Fundraising Manager and the Managing Director.

• Collaborate with the Programmes team to create engaging donor reports and impactful communications that reflect the voices of young refugees and our wider community.

• Prepare clear, strategic briefings for senior colleagues ahead of meetings with funders and key stakeholders.

Developing the Corporate and Major Donors Stream

• Help shape and grow Breadwinners’ Corporate and Major Donor fundraising streams.

• Proactively cultivate a pipeline of new corporate and high-net-worth individuals, using creative approaches to connect them with Breadwinners’ mission.

Finance

• Help the Managing Director keep a healthy level of restricted and unrestricted funds.

• Contribute to the management of budgets and assist in preparing forecasts and annual plans.

 Team Support and Collaboration

• Direct line management of a part-time Fundraising Manager, providing guidance, support, and oversight to help achieve fundraising goals.

• Participate in programmes, training, participant graduations and delivery to fully support and experience Breadwinners Theory of change and the impact it plays on young refugees.

Overview

At Operation Smile UK, we work with global colleagues to improve the lives of those living with cleft conditions around the world – by providing surgery and comprehensive care services to patients and strengthening health care systems in the countries where we work. Operation Smile UK’s Partnerships Team works to maximise high-potential income channels such as corporate partnerships, major donors and trusts and foundations. The Partnerships and Philanthropy Officer will play a key role in the team securing critical income from global and national corporate partners and from our network of committed community fundraisers.

We are looking for a candidate who thrives on building relationships – with partners and with colleagues in the UK and around the world. You will be a brilliant communicator, someone who can juggle multiple priorities and inspire people to believe in our story. Ideally, you will have at least a year’s experience in a relationship management role (in a commercial or fundraising setting), and a particular interest in international development. In return, you will be part of an ambitious and high-performing team, working with national and global corporate partners, gaining international programme exposure and being given the opportunity to take responsibility from the outset. 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Corporate Fundraising

· Take the lead on managing a portfolio of small and medium corporate partners - taking responsibility for all aspects of these partnerships, including communication, staff activities, events, reporting, income collection and acknowledgements

· Provide support to the Senior P&P Manager in activities relating to OSUK’s global corporate partners through managing employee-led activities across the portfolio.

· To manage and develop new initiatives for employee engagement and community participants

· Support on new business acquisition, specifically in creating new avenues for income generation through existing partnerships.

· Responsible for managing inbound enquiries relating to corporate partnerships

· Lead on producing corporate-related social media and communications content

· Maintain orderly upkeep of all relevant records and databases

Community Fundraising

· Lead on the handling of all inbound community fundraising correspondence, including donations received, merchandise and speaking requests

· Develop a strong understanding of fundraising platforms such as Just Giving and Enthuse, maintaining their upkeep and reconciliation with Operation Smile's financial and reporting systems

Additional Responsibilities

· Expand your understanding of Operation Smile’s programmatic work globally, of cleft lip and palate conditions, health system strengthening and the global surgery sector

· Support other areas of the Partnership Team’s work, including events.

Home-Start Epsom, Ewell and Banstead is a voluntary organisation committed to promoting the welfare of families and children.  Our team of trained staff and volunteers provide regular emotional support and practical help to families in their own homes and in groups throughout the community.

The Philharmonia Orchestra is seeking an organised, analytical and proactive Development Research and Operations Manager (DROM) to support the growth in fundraising activity of a busy and ambitious orchestra. The post-holder will deliver high-quality philanthropic research, pipeline and CRM management, the creation of donor briefings for individual, corporate and trust supporters, and horizon scanning for new and future opportunities. 

As the department’s research and CRM lead, the DROM will generate prospect research on those suggested by senior volunteers (Board, Development Board etc.) and those identified in our database, Tessitura. They will support fundraisers across giving streams to create engagement and cultivation plans, and act as the pipeline management champion for the team. The DROM will support fundraisers to ensure activity and contacts is logged consistently, working closely with the Head of Development to monitor KPIs, track and record income and maintain accurate donor and donation records. 

This position is central to ensuring that frontline fundraisers can focus on income generation, supported by robust operational processes, accurate data, and high-quality research. 

This role reports to the Head of Development and will work closely with the Senior Development Manager (Philanthropy) and Director of Development. The work of the Development team is actively supported by the Philharmonia’s Development Board. 

Key Responsibilities 

Research and Pipeline Development:

• Identify, qualify and research prospective major supporters, including individuals, corporates and trusts

• Prepare tailored profiles and high-quality briefings to staff and senior volunteers for meetings and events

• Maintain and refine the prospect pipeline, ensuring clear pipeline management stages and next actions for prospects

• Conduct due diligence research as required for donor engagement

• Implement improvements to pipeline management process 

• Track sector trends and philanthropic activity to inform prospecting and cultivation

CRM, Data and Insights:

• Be the Tessitura CRM and financial process (such as Direct Debits and Gift Aid) lead for the Development team, maintaining accurate, timely, and GDPR-compliant records

• Develop and implement systems, workflows and reporting tools to support a data-led fundraising approach such as in membership acquisition

• Produce regular income and pipeline reports that support departmental planning and forecasting

• Generate guest lists and attendee profiles for events

Department Operations:

• Support the Head of Development with the timely production of proposals, reports and other donor communications

• Work with the Learning and Engagement department to identify and promote opportunities that support fundraising, such as project visits, project pipeline and evaluations. 

• With colleagues, ensure the smooth scheduling and preparation for donor meetings and project visits

• Support the Head of Development and Director of Development in preparation of materials for Board, Development Board and other strategic meetings.

• Reporting and Administration:

• Support the Head of Development in regular moves management and revenue reporting across the department

• Create and maintain updated gift processing workflows including invoices, bank transfers, reconciliation and reporting

• Ensure the highest standard of data capture, financial processes and record-keeping, consistent with GDPR and best practice

• Ensure accurate and up-to-date records and fulfilment of donors’ accreditation and recognition requirements

• Represent the Philharmonia at events and externally when required

• Support the work of the Department and other duties reasonably required by the Philharmonia

Skills and Qualifications

Essential:

• Understanding of different fundraising income streams and the donor cultivation cycle

• Experience of philanthropic prospect research and data analysis

• High levels of organisational skills and attention to detail

• Understanding and experience of using a CRM database (Tessitura is an advantage)

• Understanding of fundraising and data protection regulation (including HMRC Guidelines, Gift Aid, GDPR and the Fundraising Regulator)

• Experience in handling financial and transactional data, and producing financial reports

• Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities

• High-level of IT literacy, including the Microsoft 365 suite.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)

• Interest in and appreciation of the arts

Desirable:

• Experience in a similar role within a fundraising team from the arts and cultural sector

• Knowledge of the Philharmonia and its work; understanding the opportunities and challenges in the orchestral sector – including as this relates to funding opportunities

• Experience in major fundraising campaigns

We are looking for a warm, flexible and highly motivated fundraiser to work across all areas of our fundraising, from securing income from trusts and foundations and corporate partners to staying on top of our individual giving.

Key Details
