The Senior Project Manager (Marketing Portfolio) will work across all parts of the organisation to provide specialist change management services, ensuring key strategic projects, campaigns and programmes of work implement and embed change successfully.

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT TO THE SLT

Contract: Permanent

The Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a staff nurse to join our existing CHAS at Home team. With a base in Inverness the team works in families’ homes providing the highest level of family centred care to support the needs of babies, children and young people with life shortening conditions and their families.

As an experienced nurse you will be supported with an induction to palliative and end of life care, exploring areas such as advanced communication, symptom management, pain management and development of advanced clinical skills such as PN, PD and ventilation.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provide a high standard of palliative nursing care to children and young people who have life-shortening conditions, through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care plans, ensuring that the care provision is adapted to meet the complex needs of the individual.
• Provide nursing care at end of life and bereavement support including last office procedures, for the child, young person and their family, with support as required.
• As necessary, provide care for the child, young person and their family in a variety of settings, ensuring the care plan meets the needs of the individual.
• Collaborate and liaise with a range of professionals to meet the needs of the child, young person and their family taking opportunities to promote and raise awareness of the services provided by CHAS
• Maintain and accurately updates all written and electronic records in accordance with appropriate legislation and organisational standards.

Key Responsibilities include:

· Influencing and supporting parishes to prepare and deliver their NZC action plans relating to their buildings.

· Support the Property Team to develop and implement a comprehensive NZC action plan for clergy housing.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills include:

You will:

Manage all finance systems and processes including payroll, pensions, and insurance.

Work with and provide support to the Board of Trustees, CEO and the Senior Management Team as well as support the needs of the office across the organisation.

Duties:

• Financial Records Maintenance:

- Responsible for the update of the chart of accounts and reporting tools to maximise reporting functionality.

- Ensure accurate maintenance of financial records on SAGE for the charity.

•  Support the Senior Management Team and wider managers in the production of budgets.

•  Provide timely financial information to managers for effective budget management.

• Ensure monthly management accounts accurately track restricted and unrestricted income, expenditure, and reserves.

• Monthly Reporting and Budgeting:

- Produce monthly management accounts and reconciliations - (including the Balance Sheet and Cash Statement).

- Prepare quarterly forecasts and annual budgets (including cash flow).

- Assist in the formulation and implementation of financial policies, procedures and controls.

• Financial administration, banking and payments:

- Manage payroll administration, pension postings, and HMRC payments.

- Process monthly payment runs.

- Monitor and review aged debtors and creditors with the relevant colleagues.

- Work with the fundraising team to oversee Gift Aid claims.

- Manage VAT input and reporting if required.

- Maintain and manage schedules for depreciation, prepayments, accruals & deferred income – posting monthly and quarterly journals as required.

- Administer the Fixed Assets register.

• Year-End Reporting:

- Responsible for year-end reporting and processes.

- Manage the internal examination/audit process.

- Ensure timely preparation and submission of statutory accounts to the Independent Auditor, Companies House, and Charity Commission.

• Governance and strategic finance:

- Produce quarterly reports for the Board and other financial statements in liaison with the Chair, Treasurer and CEO.

- Support the team to create accurate budgets for new funding applications.

- Support the team to accurately cost our services and products for sale ensuring we build in appropriate margins to support growth.

- Work with the Board and Senior Management Team to build financial resilience, diverse income streams and savvy approaches to grow our income and impact.

The Finance Manager will be providing bespoke financial management capacity-building support, ensuring compliance with statutory/funder requirements, and supporting operational/strategic management and planning resources. The role holder is also expected to support HQ Finance function.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

B. Provide bespoke financial management capacity-building support to Black and racialized organisations in 8 London boroughs, including supporting groups to:

2. Provide training, and guidance to groups supported on ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory and funder requirements governing the sector, employer responsibilities training, and governance.

3. Support the development and implementation of financial strategies operational/strategic management and planning resources.

4. Provide training and guidance on risk identification and mitigation and annual reports and accounts.

5. Support the delivery of webinars/masterclasses to participants

6. Support developing effective online learning tools and platforms to cascade learning.

7. Support the delivery of a proactive finance service ‘Critical Friend’ providing financial advice, support, scrutiny, and challenge to the organisations.

Role Purpose

Southwark Cathedral has been a place of Christian worship for over 1400 years. This is a key role at Southwark Cathedral supporting the Dean. This secretarial role will primarily feature management of a busy personal diary, correspondence and broader administrative support for the Dean in his capacity as Dean of Southwark, Chair of Chapter and CEO of the Cathedral.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead the coordination, preparation, planning and follow up for the Dean’s briefing for and attendance at meetings associated with the governance of the Cathedral including Chapter, Finance Committee, Audit & Risk Committee, Nominations Committee, Fabric Advisory Committee and Board of Enterprises. This will include research and assisting in the drafting and review of papers for such meetings, but minute taking will not usually be required (but may be requested from time to time in liaison with members of staff usually responsible for the minutes);
• Support the Dean in all their working relationships including building and maintaining excellent relationships with Chapter Members and Committee Members, the Bishop’s staff and with the wider Diocese, as well as with neighbours, commercial partners, professional advisers and other third-party organisations relating to the Dean’s work;

Terms and Conditions

Working Hours

The working hours shall be 21 hours per week (exclusive of meal breaks), usually over three days. Some out of hours working will be required to support meetings and events and this will be notified in advance. Time off in lieu will be awarded in line with Southwark Cathedral’s policy.

Annual Leave

20.5 days per annum including statutory bank holidays, with an additional 5 days (pro-rata) after 10 years’ service. 

Probation

The appointment is subject to the satisfactory completion of a six-month probationary period.

Season Ticket Loan

Once the probationary period has been completed satisfactorily, the person appointed will be eligible to take out a season ticket loan.

Pension

The person appointed will be eligible to join a defined contributions pension scheme managed by the Church Workers Pension Fund. The Cathedral will contribute half of the annual premium of 10% of salary.
