We provide therapies and support to those living with long term neurological conditions or who have a neuro divergence in Cornwall. As Head of Income Generation you will lead a small team to increase income and awareness of this well-respected health charity through fundraising and marketing activities. The postholder will be a member of the Senior Management Team and will contribute to the strategic direction and day-to-day operational management of the charity. We have an ambitious target to increase income by circa 60% over the next three years - therefore the successful candidate will need to demonstrate experience of meeting and exceeding fundraising targets - to ensure the charity is financially sustainable.

We are working in partnership with a charity which offers free and confidential information, advice, counselling, support and advocacy for children and young people under 26 in Southampton, Hampshire, Isle of Wight and Portsmouth whose mission is to empower young people to reach their full potential.

The charity is now seeking to appoint a Head of Finance who will have oversight of the finance team and will lead on strategic and operational financial management of the charity and preparing and analysing information. 

This is an exciting opportunity to build on the charity’s existing successes, developing strength and sustainability to underpin services that benefit thousands of children and young people each year.

The successful applicant will be a qualified Accountant (CIMA / CIPFA / ACCA / ACA or equivalent), consideration may be given to a part-qualified candidate with substantial relevant experience and possessing a desire to consider continuing towards full-qualification. 

You will demonstrate:

• Experience and understanding of financial processes including budget management, forecasting, day-to-day income and expenditure processes, monthly reporting, and year end audit processes
• Up-to-date knowledge of Charity regulations and relevant legislation and legal requirements
• Successful track record in working with a Trustee Board or other executive boards
• Ability to prioritise and organise own work, and that of others, to meet deadlines
• Experience of costing services/projects and producing comprehensive budgets

The successful individual will be part of the Senior Leadership Team and will make an active contribution to the strategic direction, planning and leadership of the charity in collaboration with the wider team.  You will have high level of IT competency to support this role, including the use of Microsoft Office, and excellent communication skills with a commitment to personal growth and development.  You will be a role model for the values of the Charity and ensure the needs of children and young people are at the heart of everything you do.

There may be opportunity to provide leadership oversight to other organisational infrastructure functions including IT, Business Support, Fundraising and Communications, depending on the candidate.

Role purpose: 

• Set & deliver the Business Development Strategy alongside the Director of Engagement that supports growth, reach, and impact of Leadership Skills Foundation programmes. 
• Drive operational progress by developing positive and proactive working relationships with other Heads of Department.

The main resposnsibiltiies will be:

They do this by advocating for policy changes and campaign tirelessly to ensure that decision-makers address the inequalities experienced by families with disabled children. This amazing organisation are entering a period of exciting change and are searching for Head of HR on a permanent basis to head up their dynamic HR team and bring their performance and capacity to the next level. This role within this incredible charity is very suitable for those with experience in the not-for-profit sector.

This is a hybrid role, and only requiring a minimum of one day a week in their main office which is a short walk from Old Street Station (National Rail) and Angel Station (London Underground). This position will be reporting directly to Director of Finance and Resources and the main responsibilities for Head of HR are:

• Deliver fit-for-purpose HR services, including people management strategies, performance development, and employment relations advice.
• Act as a proactive business partner, offering support and guidance to key stakeholders such as line managers, team heads, and the senior management team.
• Collaborate with the Director of Finance & Resources to enhance internal HR policies and systems for effective organisational functioning.
• Lead the development and implementation of the future people strategy in alignment with Contact's broader strategy and commitment to diversity and inclusion.
• Manage two direct reports, oversee relationships with external partners, and ensure efficient HR and resource support services for Contact.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

• Extensive experience as a primary resource for all HR policy matters throughout an organisation.
• Possession of a professional HR qualification, minimally CIPD Level 5 (Associate) or equivalent.
• Proficiency in organising and prioritising dynamic workloads for optimal operational outcomes.
• Skilled in conducting difficult conversations, conflict resolution, and fostering compassionate communication.
• Qualification/experience in project management
• Experience in reward and benefits review process

We have an opportunity for a Head of Strategic Planning to join our team.  The role reports to the Chief Finance and Resources Officer, in the Finance and Resources directorate.  The role is responsible for leading the Strategic Planning team and currently has two direct reports. 

The role is responsible for leading the team to support the organisation to ensure alignment of strategic ambitions with the Corporate Plan and associated corporate processes.  The team provide expertise in business planning, corporate planning and oversight and governance to the organisations strategic programme of projects.       

Responsibilities include:
You will provide oversight of the governance and reporting to SMT of the strategic transformation projects and support the team in the monitoring, tracking and reporting of the delivery plan projects to senior stakeholders 

You will have accountability for providing strategic analysis to our Senior Management Team and subcommittees to enable robust operational and strategic decisions. 

You will lead a dispersed team to coordinate and mature the organisations strategy management; business planning processes: corporate plan: programme/project management.

You will drive a high performing culture, inspiring, coaching and empowering your team.

You will collaborate with senior leaders and teams and have strong stakeholder management to build relationships across the organisation. 

You will use your expertise to partner with key stakeholders to champion our corporate processes and enhance our strategic maturity level to support our strategic ambitions.

Location: We have a hybrid approach to working, work pattern and location will be agreed with the successful candidate. The role can be based at any of our UK offices, these are Belfast, Birmingham, Cardiff, Exeter, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Newcastle and Newtown. 

Essential criteria

•  Experience of leading and developing dispersed, high performing team to deliver excellent service to internal stakeholders
• Significant experience of delivering the key elements of the strategy management system, and the ability to provide professionally presented strategic analysis to senior audiences 
• Demonstrable experience of program/project management and relevant qualification i.e. PgM, Prince 2 Agile Foundation & Practitioner
• Solid stakeholder management experience at senior level i.e. SMT and Chief Executive, incl influencing senior decision makers, teams and colleagues
• Ability to facilitate difficult discussions with diverse range of stakeholders
• Significant experience of collaborating with and influencing internal customers to create effective business processes
• Experience of making sense of complex strategic issues, and the ability to triangulate data and metrics with strategic learning
• Knowledgeable in business excellence frameworks such as EFQM
