The Opportunity

We are seeking a Partnerships Manager to join our team.  This is an exciting opportunity to join our Business Development Team and make a significant contribution to delivery of the charity’s high quality services to children and young people, providing them with opportunities and inspiration to enable them to achieve their potential, create a positive future for themselves and open doors to their success.

If you are self-motivated, enthusiastic and confident with experience in successfully securing, managing and developing partnerships from initial prospect research through to contracting and ongoing management, then this role is for you. Working alongside the Director of Business Development and Partnerships, you will support and contribute to the charity’s business development strategy with responsibility for managing activity including raising funds for Inspire from a range of sources including corporate partnerships, community fundraising, trusts and foundations.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

1. Writing and submitting applications for new funding to statutory bodies, trusts, foundations and corporates.

2. Researching funding opportunities, competitors and market trends.

3. Developing and maintaining an annual calendar of community fundraising activities.

4. Identifying new business development opportunities and developing a pipeline of opportunities and proposals.

5. Management and growth of Inspire's entry to mid-level corporate partnerships.

6. Working with delivery team colleagues to ensure funders’ reports are completed on time and to a high standard.

The Head of Finance is required to provide excellent leadership skills and oversight to a transforming finance function, including team mentoring, embedding improved financial management processes and systems, and making sure that Charity meets financial and legal obligations.

Purpose of role

• You will be part of the SMT with responsibility of providing timely and accurate financial information and strategic analysis to inform and influence discussion.  
• Maintain an effective working relationship with the COO, SMT and the Board, Audit and Risk.
• Review, develop and implement improved financial management processes to support the financial management, including assessing opportunities for cost reduction and surplus improvement.
• Provide an external interface with key stakeholders such as banks, auditors, insurers, pension funds, consultants, and charity finance specialists

• Prepare the organisation’s annual financial statements in time for external audit
• Ensure full reconciliation of balance sheet accounts are completed on monthly basis

Head of UK Programmes Grants and Programmes Contract: Fixed term to 31st May 2025 (maternity cover)

Hours: 35 hours per week - open to part time/ flexible work discussions.

Head of UK Programmes is the senior lead on UK-wide grants and programmes, working closely with nation teams and fundraising to shape and deliver a sector leading portfolio of programmes that is evidence informed, and evidence generating, catalysing positive change for carer organisations and unpaid carers. This role requires an established social sector leader who is adept at demonstrating internal and external leadership,

You will be detail oriented and logical to provide robust programme quality and assurance expertise, yet equally comfortable to lead the organisation externally too. You will be passionate about positioning Carers Trust’s programmatic offer as relevant and additive, drawing on emerging and best practice from across our network of 126 carer organisations.

As a seasoned programmes professional your leadership accountability for UK Programmes spans from development through to implementation and you will work closely across the nations to steward and role model a joined up approach across Carers Trust’s programme cycle, leading to meaningful and coherent programming.

The role holder will instill a learning and continuous improvement culture across the programmes and impact community, to ensure that programmatic learning is used to inform our network offer, evolving research agenda and influencing activities. You'll build lasting relationships with trusts and foundations through effective communication, ensuring our funding needs are clearly communicated. Additionally, you'll support learning, monitoring, and evaluation activities across all our overseas programmes, translating impactful data into valuable insights for our wider fundraising and communications team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and research funding opportunities, managing a pipeline of trust and foundation opportunities.

• Collaborate closely with the Programmes team and project delivery partners to develop compelling project proposals.

Interim Head of Finance | 3 Month + | £300 - £350 per day (outside IR35) | Hybrid | Croydon

For a small but vital refugee charity, we are recruiting an Interim Head of Finance for 3 + months, starting ASAP. Reporting to the CEO, the main accountabilities will focus on providing insightful monthly management accounts and reporting to the Senior Leadership Team and Trustees / Board, and to ensure the correct allocation of expenditure to a high number of grant funds. This role will oversee the Finance Assistant and the day-to-day finance transactions, including expenses, payroll, and balance sheet reconciliations.

Main Duties:

• Produce regular management accounts and financial reporting
• Support the Leadership Team, Finance Committee and Board with long-term financial planning
• Lead and review budgeting, reforecasting and cashflow management
• Review and re-negotiate all contracts, including office premises, IT, grants, and services
• Oversee the Finance Assistants day-to-day work including transactions and payroll processing
• Work with the Head of Fundraising and Senior Leadership to ensure income generation and fundraising strategy is in line with long-term goals

What will you bring to this role?

• Qualified Accountant or QBE with solid experience
• Strong knowledge and experience of Charity SORP, Grant funding and restricted and unrestricted funding
• Strong experience of management accounts and reporting within a small but complex charity organisation including budget preparation and year-end accounting and Audit
• Strong IT skills including Xero and Excel

About the role

We’re looking for a qualified accountant to join our team and provide operational leadership for the Charity’s Finance function, supporting the Director of Finance & Governance and providing line management for our friendly finance team.

You will be responsible for ensuring The Charity complies with statutory requirements, operates effective controls, provides meaningful insight on financial matters and adapts processes to suit our growing Charity.

You will take a lead on statutory compliance such as audit, tax and Charity Commission submissions. You will work with the Finance Manager to ensure the integrity of finance records and systems, the accurate and timely production of monthly management accounts, making of payments to Team Members and suppliers and ad hoc reporting.

You will take a leading role in budget preparations and forecasting.

Who we’re looking for:

A qualified accountant with at least five years’ experience in a similar role from any sector. You will have experience of and be comfortable with filing VAT returns, preparing statutory accounts, dealing with auditors, and managing a small team.

We are delighted to be recruiting an exciting job share opportunity as the Head of Fundraising and Communications at Herts Young Homeless. The charity offers a fantastic and inclusive work environment with the ability to work in a hybrid capacity.

You will lead on income generation to fund the provision of high-quality services that break the cycle of youth homelessness through education, advice and support. As the Head of Fundraising & Communications you will be part of the senior leadership team having joint responsibility for the delivery of the charity’s strategy. Focusing on philanthropy and partnerships you will ideally come with a wealth of knowledge within high value fundraising.

As the Head of Fundraising and Communications you will need:

• Significant experience within income generation, preferable high value and corporate streams
• Experience of identifying and developing new funding streams and building lasting relationships which will deliver long term sustainable income.
• Strong management and development skills with the ability to inspire team members

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum FTE
Contract: Permanent Part-time
Location: Hybrid – Office in Hatfield with option to work from home

Following the launch of a brand new strategy in April 2024, they are seeking a Head of Strategic Financial Planning & Control to support in the continued growth of the charity.

Cycling UK works to campaign for cycling-friendly policies, advocating for cyclists’ voices on issues such as safety, active travel schemes and funding, the benefits of cycling on the environment, and much more. Cycling UK are also passionate about enabling cycling for all, running critical programmes to address the barriers to cycling people can face, to ensure cycling is inclusive and accessible to all.

During the last 5 years Cycling UK has experienced significant growth and development as cycling has assumed a greater role within the active travel sector and the post-pandemic recovery. As part of the next phase of implementing a new organisational strategy with a view to further growth, Cycling UK are looking for a finance leader to support in day to day running of our finances as well as driving longer-term transformation and strategic ambitions.

The Role

Reporting into the Chief Operating Officer, the Head of Strategic Financial Planning & Control is a pivotal position within the Cycling UK team. Working as part of the leadership team within Cycling UK, this is an important role in leading the finance team and working to enhance the organisation’s longer-term strategic vision.

• Line management of the finance team members (4 reports) including supporting the development of all direct reports;
• Leading the preparation and implementation of a multi-year plan and annual budget aligned with our business  planning and programme management processes;
• Lead budget and forecast reviews at appropriate intervals in the financial year to ensure accurate and timely forecasts of income and expenditure;
• Collaborating with the Chief Operating Officer, Senior leadership team and Heads of department to develop and embed a robust finance strategy which supports the delivery of our organisational strategy and aligns with our growth aspirations;
• Develop and maintain an effective system of financial controls that ensure the safeguarding of charity assets and the reliability of the financial statements;
• Lead the preparation and production of the annual report and accounts;
• Oversight for all accounts payable and accounts receivable processes and ledgers;

What’s in it for you?
 

• Salary £51,000 - £57,000 per annum
• Hybrid working: 1-2 days per week in Guildford or London office
• Annual leave of 25 days + Additional Christmas leave + Bank holidays. There are also options to buy an additional week’s leave.

Your Background:

You will be CCAB qualified or equivalent
You will have previous staff management experience
You will have natural strengths in finance business partnering, being able to communicate financial matters to non-finance stakeholders
You will be self-motivated and ambitious, passionate about supporting in Cycling UK’s growth

Prior experience in the not-for-profit sector is desirable though not essential.
