An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a new Operations Manager / Deputy Chief Executive for Stepping Stones North Wales as we celebrate our 40th Anniversary.

Stepping Stones is a charity based in North Wales that offers free individual counselling, support, psychoeducational courses and resources as well as group work to adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. We also support family members, carers and friends.

We are looking for a person who is passionate about the charity sector and who, working with our CEO and with a dynamic team of Trustees, can ensure we operate effectively and can support the delivery of our strategy. The successful candidate will be comfortable with looking at ways to strengthen our processes and systems, so we have even more impact.

Stepping Stones North Wales demonstrates respect for, and embraces the use of, the Welsh Language through all our activities and services. We recognise the need to be appropriately responsive to the linguistic needs of Welsh speakers and we are fully committed to meeting the requirements of the Welsh Language (Wales) Measure 2011 (revised 2021). The ability to communicate effectively in both Welsh and English is desirable for this role although we will welcome applicants who demonstrate a commitment to learning Welsh (which we’ll fully support you in doing) and championing its use at every opportunity.

The position can either be full time (35 hours per week), with a salary of £38,296, or pro-rata 28 hours for the right candidate.

Our preference is for the successful candidate to spend three days each week working from our Wrexham office, with the balance being a home-working option. However, we can consider further flexibility and this can be discussed during the application process.

A formal sift will take place in the final week of June. Interviews for candidates who are successful at this stage will take place during week commencing Monday 8th July.

Job description:

• Responsibility for working with the CEO to develop, implement and monitor the Strategic Plan, the yearly Business Plan and associated processes/documents (policies, guidance, risk register and budgets).
• Responsibility for working with the CEO to increase our outreach through strategic communications and through stakeholder mapping/engagement, including with elected officials across North Wales.
• Responsibility for maintaining good working relationships with commissioners and other funding bodies and for supporting the CEO and trustees in promoting Stepping Stones with current and potential future funders within the statutory third and corporate sectors.
• Responsibility for working closely with colleagues and trustees to network and to maintain an appropriate level of awareness of Stepping Stones’ activities amongst the caring professions, across the charitable sector and in communities across North Wales.
• Accountability for supporting the ongoing recruitment of, and line management of, a number of nominated operational staff within the charity.
• Responsibility for ensuring the financial probity of the charity. Working with the CEO and Finance & Business Support Manager.
• Responsibility for maintaining good working relationships with commissioners and other funding bodies and to promote Stepping Stones with current and potential future funders within the statutory, third and corporate sectors.
• Responsibility for ensuring that all appropriate training and processes are in place with regards to key government standards around Safeguarding, Health and Safety and GDPR in partnership with the Clinical Lead.
• Responsibility for working with the CEO, key staff and trustees to implement an improved and modernised service for our clients, partners and trustees through innovation.

The Community Fundraising team at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for securing income from individuals, regional businesses and groups fundraising in the community, effectively managing relationships to maximise income.

The Regional Fundraising Officer role will play a significant part in contributing to a high-performing fundraising team. The role will cover the Kent and Sussex region.

You will report to the Community Fundraising Manager and support the Head of Regional Fundraising to drive the continued growth of the charity’s community fundraising income in your area. You will also be required to show excellent relationship-building skills to support community partnerships and volunteer groups, driving towards agreed targets.

This is a 12-month fixed term contract, or on return of the substantive post holder, to cover a period of maternity leave.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Strategy, finance, and reporting

· Responsibility for 3 income streams within the Kent and Sussex region including corporate, community groups and Do It Yourself (DIY) fundraising.

· Identify and apply for ‘Charity of the Year’ partnerships with corporates in the region, account manage these relationships up to a value of £50,000 per annum and support the Partnership Development Team with partnerships in your region with a value of up to £100,000.

· Support existing volunteer fundraisers to encourage continued loyalty to the charity and to maximise funds raised, following fundraising legislation and good practice.

· Recruit new fundraising supporters in line with strategy.

· Support the Community Fundraising Manager (CFM) and Head of Regional Fundraising (HORF) in developing the Community Fundraising strategy for ARUK to increase income within this stream.

· Support and extend volunteer networks within the geographical area in line with strategy.

· To ensure that fundraising activity is implemented and managed locally to deliver budgets, targets and income in line with strategy. To achieve this by supporting and facilitating the development of groups and volunteers across the geographical area.

· Work across a diverse geographical area and within a geographically dispersed team, whilst managing own workload cost-effectively and proactively.

Supporter Management

· Provide excellent customer service to community fundraising supporters (including maintaining a polite, enthusiastic manner with prompt responses to enquiries), to acknowledge support and increase long-term loyalty.

· Provide high-quality account management to volunteer groups in geographical area.

· Effective management of volunteer relationships within geographical area.

· Support, motivate and develop local fundraising volunteers, ensuring they have a clear understanding of ARUK to enable them to represent the charity’s work effectively.

· In liaison with the Partnership Development Managers and Partnership Development Officers, provide high-quality account management to corporate supporters within the specified geographical area and/or of relevant value.

· Keep up to date with fundraising legislation and codes of practice to be able to provide relevant advice to fundraisers.

· Ensure volunteers and fundraisers have all necessary materials for fundraising initiatives.

Increasing Community Support within geographical area

· Use own initiative to extend volunteer networks, develop new groups and supporters, and respond to fundraising opportunities within the geographical area, in line with strategy.

· Run volunteer events with both a recruitment and cultivation function, liaising closely with the Stewardship and Events team to ensure a seamless supporter journey, and with the Press team to include media volunteers.

· Manage the recruitment process of new ARUK volunteers in the geographical area, providing relevant support and training.

· Liaise with local community organisations (e.g., golf clubs, educational institutions etc.) – both previous and new potential supporters – to extend income and activity in line with the strategy.

· Initiate and roll out community fundraising events in the geographical area with evidence of effective ROI and achievement of strategic goals.

· Provide face-to-face talks and presentations to community organisations for recruitment/ cultivation purposes.

· Arrange appropriate volunteer representation at events in the community (for example, for cheque collections and talks), spreading the charity’s reach cost-effectively.

· Identify, research and target prospective community organisations, in liaison with CFM.

· Identify, research and target prospective local corporates in liaison with CFM / HORF and ARUK’s Partnership Development Managers and Partnership Development Officers, in line with both community and corporate strategies.

· Accurately track and record contact with both community and corporate prospects for planning and reporting purposes.

Monitoring and Reporting

· Ensure that your activity is monitored and evaluated, clearly communicating progress to your Community Fundraising Manager.

· Manage relevant information on the charity’s database, keeping detailed, up-to-date records of activity and income.

 

What we are looking for:

· Experience in partnership fundraising and/or relationship-building.

· Experience in public speaking, such as giving presentations and talking at events.

· Knowledge of recruiting key volunteers and fundraising supporters.

· Experience and a keen interest in building long-term relationships with supporters.

· Proven ability to provide excellent stewardship.

· An ability to manage a busy and varied workload.

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

· Excellent organisational skills.

· Full driver’s license with access to own vehicle. 

· Flexibility to work some unsocial hours and willingness to travel independently.

· Live within Kent and Sussex region.

We also use a comprehensive data collection system to measure the effectiveness of services in response to the needs of funders, service managers, senior management, and others. An interesting part-time role based on-site across the two offices where the service operates from, your challenge will be to help in all aspects of data. Initially, you’ll receive extensive training and support from our Data Team to help build your knowledge of our recording systems and procedures. Then, working with new and existing staff, you’ll be responsible for helping them to understand correct data entry and record-keeping procedures to help us improve data quality and accuracy. As well as regularly working on your own to conduct data cleansing and reporting to further enhance our data quality, you’ll also need to liaise with the Data Manager and Data Team to provide ongoing support to our staff with any queries they have. 

To succeed, you’ll need a good understanding of IT, including data systems, infrastructure and communication systems, as well as Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word. Familiarity with the Data Protection Act (1998) and GDPR (2018) is important too, while an understanding of data in the context of Health and Social Care, though not essential, would be useful. Job Description  

The Partnership Officer will be a key member of The Hygiene Bank’s income generation team and wider central team, with a responsibility to help meet the needs of our existing partnerships and support in fulfilling the charity’s income generation plans and strategy. 

Key Responsibilities 

You will support the management of our brand and corporate partners, working with the Head of Brand and Corporate Partnerships. Your role will be to develop and deliver partnership strategies and stewardship plans for each account, to deliver against our objectives and meet income targets. 

• Work closely with the Head of Brands and Corporate Partnerships and to ensure the collaborative transition of new partners into account management, liaise with (Brand Coordinator/ Product Donation Manager) and Head of Fundraising, Communications and External Awareness and Head of Operations. 

• Identify and outreach to target brands and corporate partners, working to engage their support for the charity

• Accurately forecast and manage expenditures for our partners, working with the Head of Brand and Corporate partnerships to create mitigation plans when necessary. 

• Meticulous record keeping, ensuring the pipeline and the opportunity database are current and up to date.  

• Contribute to the organisation and team's annual plans, strategies, and budgets. 

• Develop, monitor, and maintain systems and processes including Smartsheets and account management plans.

The Development Officer (Trusts & Foundations) will join a small, dedicated team responsible for securing income from charitable trusts, foundations and grant making bodies in the UK and internationally in support of agreed University priorities, including Health-UEA Climate-UEA and various campus projects. 

Reporting to the Senior Development Manager (Trusts & Foundations) you will apply for and manage grants whilst also managing the research of new funding opportunities for the team.

Educated to degree level, or with equivalent relevant qualification or experience, you will have excellent organisational and time management skills; strong interpersonal skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; and an aptitude for face-to-face fundraising. Full training will be provided in fundraising/managing of relationships with volunteers and supporters.

You will facilitate projects and workstreams to understand the needs of all communities including African, Caribbean, Asian and other minoritised communities in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. Your role will be to bring together insights and present reports and data so that our services work in partnership to plan, design and improve care You will be confident representing mothers, parents and families by working closely with staff in our Acute Trusts. Your role will include being a source of information for communities, communicating opportunities for them to get involved, using social media and website content, online surveys and face to face focus groups or engagement to do so. This work is offered at 20 hours a week, with some room for flexibility after interview.

Summary of role – purpose and duties:

Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities have the poorest health outcomes out of any ethnic groups in the UK, including in relation to child mortality, suicide rates and life expectancy (House of Commons, 2019). Our communities face multi-faceted barriers to accessing statutory services. To that end, we are recruiting a Health and Social Care Coordinator to:

• Work within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team to empower and meet the needs of clients.
• Work with individuals and families who have complex health and social care needs, advocating for them, and empowering them to navigate healthcare and social care systems.
• Develop strong relationships with health and social care providers to tackle health inequalities and get the best outcomes for their communities and clients.

Person specification:

The successful candidate will be committed to achieving excellent outcomes for clients and be aligned with the vision and values of the charity. They will be warm and compassionate, yet also able to demonstrate healthy boundaries and professionalism. They will have experience of successful work with vulnerable people and an understanding of health and social care systems. They will be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication, in addition to sound IT skills. They will have resilience – and a sense of humour is also a must!

Spectra are looking for an experienced Therapeutic Services Manager and Clinical Lead to lead, develop, coordinate, and represent Spectra’s counselling services internally and externally at Senior Management level. You will ensure delivery of consistent, high-quality counselling across all of Spectra’s teams (Young People, Sexual health, Trans and Non-binary (TNB) people), supporting and empowering our service users, whilst ensuring clinical work is carried out in accordance with ethical guidelines and Spectra’s protocols.  You will also conduct some clinical assessments and provide some weekly 1-to-1 counselling/group therapy sessions.

The Fundraising Officer at the Childhood Eye Cancer Trust (CHECT) supports a wide range of the charity’s activities, including but not limited to, helping to develop and grow income from individual donors with a focus on developing strong relationships with donors and families; as well as assisting with CHECT’s overall admin and operations.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping families affected by retinoblastoma and shares our values to increase awareness through communications and appeals, expanding our social media and website content and supporting our exciting fundraising efforts.

Healthwatch Brighton and Hove is the official voice for people who use health and social care services in our city. We are an innovative and independent organisation gathering the views and experiences of patients and service users. We have built a reputation for delivering high-quality projects involving patients, that make a real difference.

You will contribute to the effective delivery of our work by having three main roles: 1. Volunteer recruitment and support; 2. Communications and engagement support; 3. Project and administrative support.

1. recruiting and supporting our volunteers who are an essential part of our success. We currently have around 35 active volunteers. You will be someone who gets on well with people, understands how to coordinate and support people and be able to plan and support a range of activities and pieces of work which involve our volunteers.

2. help us communicate what we do and demonstrate our impacts. Part of this will involve arranging for us to host and attend public events so that we can meet and speak to members of the public.

3. carry out a variety of essential project-related and administrative tasks which provide critical support to the rest of the team.

As a small organisation, all staff members help one another by taking on additional tasks.  You will therefore need to work flexibly and take on new functions as and when needed.
