About the role

Big Issue Changing Lives CIC is looking for an Support and Outreach Assistant to support the direct the direct delivery of services to individuals participating in Big Issue enterprises, including selling the Big Issue magazine. The core of the role is facilitating access for members of our Roma Communities to the Hand Up Service and other local services, resources and networks required to address the barriers they are facing to moving forwards out of poverty. Where local services and resources are not available you will also support the Outreach Team with the delivery of information, guidance and some direct interventions, such as training sessions, directly.
This is self-starter role in which you’ll be responsible for connecting with potential service users within the Roma community, introducing the service to them, sharing information from our Hand Up plus services and supporting them to engage with the core Hand Up service. You’ll be working within a small team of Outreach workers and will work to maintain a set of Service Standards which help maintain the quality of the service nationally.
The role is highly flexible and no two days are the same. You’ll bring your own experience and knowledge to the role, as well as your ability to speak Romanian. We will support you to build on that through an ongoing training and development programme which aims to ensure all Hand Up Service Team members have up to date, relevant, knowledge in key areas including housing, benefits, debt, immigration and more. In the course of a day, you’ll usually be working with service users across multiple of these issues and supporting engagement with a wide range of external agencies such as health services, local authorities, charities and more, to get access to services for those you are supporting.
Your main roles and responsibilities will be:
- Undertake phone and in person outreach to introduce the Hand Up service to Roma Big Issues vendors
- Delivery of direct intervention to Roma vendors using guidance and resources provided
- Join meetings with Roma Vendors and Outreach Workers to support with action planning and provision of support and guidance
- Support with translation and interpretation within your local team to enable accessibility of the service for Roma vendors
- Support the local Hand Up Service to build current knowledge of local and national agencies that can support Roma vendors
- Support the organisation and delivery with Roma Vendors of 1-2-1 and group training sessions and drop-ins
- Ensure that your work meets service standards and targets and complete surveys with vendors as required
- Involving Roma service users in the service design and delivery as local and national opportunities arise
- Adhere to all required policies and procedures including with regards to safeguarding, lone and safe working, case work management and expenses and finances
- Undertake any other duties as required by your manager (within reasonable expectations)
You need to be:
- Passionate about and committed to supporting those living in poverty
- Confident communicator face to face and on the phone in both Romanian and English, with ability to convey information clearly
- Able to build rapport with diverse individuals from the Roma community
- Knowledge and understanding of the challenges and inequalities that individuals from the Roma community may face in the UK
- Excellent time management and very organised, with the ability to complete tasks by agreed deadlines
- Good data entry skills
- Able to represent the organisation to other professionals and partner agencies
- Able to work with individuals in both one to one and group formats
- Able to follow guidelines and work within policies, seeking support from line manager as needed
- Willing to work in flexible locations including our community office, as well as visiting vendors at pitches and attending community meetings. This role is not suitable for home- based working.

You will take a lead role on health and safety and help to coordinate repairs and maintenance and other administrative duties while working alongside the team to provide a person-centred support to clients.

We're at the start of an exciting journey to transform our approach to recruitment here at Marie Curie. You will be one of the founding team in our new Talent Acquisition Centre of Excellence. We have a significant journey ahead of us to improve our operating model, alongside delivering critical BAU hiring needs in a challenging labour market.
You'll lead full-cycle recruitment for your internal client groups, ensuring the sourcing and selection of high-calibre talent so that our teams can deliver the best possible care and support to people living with any terminal illness, and those close to them. Quickly building strong relationships, you'll work closely with leaders at all levels and will play a key role in developing hiring manager capability through coaching, collaborative working and delivering training in recruitment approaches.
You will lead and collaborate on Talent Acquisition projects, including adopting new technologies, recruitment methodologies and process improvements. Inclusive hiring will be inherent in everything you do, using your business partnering skills to develop and implement strategies to increase candidate attraction in underrepresented groups in line with our EDI strategy and organisational goals.
With line management responsibilities for a small cohort of TA Advisors, you will take a data-driven approach to recruitment; developing and tracking key performance indicators, including analysing recruitment metrics to inform talent acquisition strategies and improve recruitment processes.

What we are looking for:
- Relevant in-house recruitment experience and evidenced capability in delivering exceptional candidate and hiring manager experience. You will need proven experience in developing new TA initiatives and improvements.
- Prior experience leading high-volume in-house recruitment across a range of functions and levels (experience recruiting for corporate services/technology/finance would be beneficial as would recruiting for volunteers). More important will be your ability to hire into challenging labour markets (eg healthcare, retail, fundraising and volunteering).
- Business partner mindset -strong commercial understanding and a consultative approach with strong follow-up and drive for results.
- Direct experience in successfully delivering and evaluating high-impact recruitment strategies and campaigns.
- Experience in headhunting and proactive sourcing (within an in-house/RPO environment).
- Experience in managing or matrix managing recruiters.
- A sound understanding of digital attraction, social media and how these channels can be leveraged for recruitment is essential.
- Skills in coaching others in the standard processes within Talent Acquisition.
- Track record of embracing and advocating diversity and inclusion in all aspects of the recruitment journey.

No Second Night Out provides a rapid response to rough sleeping. We are currently looking for a Deputy Manager to join our team at the Great Guildford Street Staging Post (GGS).
GGS is a pan-London service based at a 52 bed site in Southwark supporting clients with a range of support needs. Taking referrals from the NSNO Assessment Hubs, the team undertake high quality Assessment and Reconnection work to support new rough sleepers to move on to suitable accommodation within a target of 56 days. This role will best suit someone who can adapt to a fast paced environment while contributing to and drawing strength from a supportive team of experienced colleagues.
In the pivotal role of Deputy Manager you will work flexibly to support clients where they need us the most:
- Working closely with the service manager to ensure the effective day to day running of the service.
- Managing the production and maintenance of a busy rota ensuring 24/7 cover of the service
- Providing supportive supervision and line management to Assessment and Reconnection Workers, and other team members including night workers and hub assistants
- Providing guidance on complex cases and leading on escalating where there are external challenges
- Building and maintaining strong relationships, and work in partnership with local authorities, accommodation services and other relevant agencies to ensure clients move on from the service into the appropriate accommodation with the correct support in place.
- Working flexibly to support the rough sleeping service, and our clients when they need us the most.
About you
We are looking for proactive and creative individuals with:
- Experience of working with vulnerable people and supporting a service delivery team.
- The ability to negotiate with a wide range of internal and external partners and build positive relationships.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise your own time and workload to meet a number of different and competing tasks in a sometimes pressurised environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of the housing and support needs of rough sleepers.
- Above all we are looking for passionate people who are committed to the overall aims and objectives of the Rough Sleeping services.

The Brendoncare Foundation are recruiting for a Home Manager to take the helm at our brand new 60 bed home in Winchester which opened in September 2023. St Giles View is set in landscaped gardens and enjoys stunning views of the South Downs. Leisure facilities include a café/restaurant, hair and beauty salon and community spaces.
Ideally you will hold a valid NMC Pin, although this is not mandatory for this role. You will be supported by two Deputy Managers who are Registered Nurses.
