We are seeking a Volunteer Manager to recruit and develop a diverse team of volunteers, to support our work with families in Barnet, Brent and Harrow. This is a challenging role as the sector has seen a real decline in volunteering in recent years, so we're looking for an innovative, forward thinking change-maker who is ready to test new approaches.

Additionally, the Volunteer Manager will be a creative communicator, with the ability to build supportive relationships with a very large and diverse group of volunteers. The postholder will ensure that volunteers receive training, development and supervision to support the families we work with, and that high standards of practice are maintained. They will promote initiatives to increase the retention of existing volunteers and ensure that they are recognised and rewarded for their work.They will also promote Home-Start in each of the boroughs where we work, seeking opportunities for recruitment within local communities.

The work requires a combination of field-based community engagement and training in Barnet, Brent and Harrow and regular days in the office which is in Finchley, Barnet.

So, we are looking for an experienced, passionate, and highly personable fundraising professional to join our UK team, to help us identify, approach and cultivate relationships with new private individuals with the potential to make major contributions to our work. 

This is a maternity cover contract so the successful candidate will need to get up to speed quickly, taking over responsibility for delivering the new Major Donor fundraising plan. The successful candidate will have previous experience of managing high level relationships and a track record of securing high value (5 and 6 figure) donations or new business. You will have outstanding interpersonal skills and be a confident communicator and able to build trusted relationships swiftly.  As this is still a new role, in a relatively young charity, your ideas will help shape this work and you will play a crucial part in driving the growth and sustainability of our fundraising in the UK.

You might have existing experience working with high-value donors, however we also welcome applications from candidates who have transferable experience from other areas - for example a sales or account management background.

Key Responsibilities (see attached job description for full list)

• Proactively research, identify, and cultivate a list of new potential donors (high-net-worth individuals), building a pipeline of people to approach for support.

• Build and strengthen relationships with both existing and new supporters - developing and personally managing and inspiring a portfolio of individual donors and prospects, soliciting 5 and 6-figure gifts.

• Lead a programme of relevant cultivation and networking events, including receptions and lunches, creating engaging opportunities for donors to increase their giving to a higher level.

• Develop inspiring and compelling ‘case for support’ literature

• Regular stewardship including personalised updates, donor touches, invites to webinars/events etc

Working Arrangements and Travel Requirements

Rainforest Trust UK staff work remotely and you will be expected to work primarily from home with an excellent internet connection. You may be based anywhere in the UK but you will be expected to work from a shared team space in London once a month, and your donor meetings/events are most likely to take place there.

The postholder will be required to host networking events and attend some online meetings with our partners in the U.S so some (early) evening working is required. We are also flexible as to how many hours this postholder works, and will consider a 3-5 day per week arrangement, depending on experience.

About the role:
 

The Philanthropy & Events Executive will support our Philanthropy Lead and Managing Director to effectively manage existing match funding partner (“Champion”)  relationships, and help to develop new Champion relationships. As a “tech first” organisation, we’re looking for someone with exceptional digital skills, experience in data administration and management and able to collate, segment and analyse donor information.  You will also have experience with CRM systems (experience using Salesforce would be advantageous) and processes to help manage the journey of our match funding partners (“Champions “). An understanding of the UK charity and philanthropy sector would be helpful.

Employer partnerships at Unifrog

The role and your key responsibilities

As Employer Partnerships Manager, your role is to grow our employer partner numbers and support our existing employer partners to get the most out of their partnership with us. A fundamental element of our work with employers is to make sure they’re adding genuine value to our student and teacher community. 

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Make sales to employers

Working with our New Business Lead and the wider Employer team, you’ll secure and conduct meetings with employers in which you’ll listen to their needs, communicate our mission to them, demonstrate our offering and seek to secure their ongoing subscription.

• Maintain excellent relationships with existing partners and secure their subscriptions

You’ll onboard new partners, conduct regular check-in calls and consultatively support our employer partners to make the most of their partnership with us. It’s crucial that you maintain a sky-high resubscription rate.

• Delivering our existing services for partner employers

As the partnerships manager for your employers, you would be responsible for delivering on the different aspects of the partnership, including:

• Matching campaigns

Support your partners to identify events and opportunities they’re running that will be of interest to students using Unifrog, and work with our Employer Engagement Coordinator to add them to our system.

• Webinars, online fairs and in-person events

These events are another way for our partner employers to interact with our community of students and teachers. From virtual careers fairs, skill development webinars to in-person insights days, we strive for all our events to be useful, impactful and enjoyable for everyone taking part.

• Help develop new ways for our employer partners to add and receive value

We are more interested in people’s attitude and ability than their work history, but previous experience in Early Talent, Apprenticeships, Diversity and Inclusion or the Education sector would be an advantage.

Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities

This is an excellent opportunity to take on an exciting role within the Humanitarian Team of the Programme & Policy Department/Programme Management Team.

We are looking for someone with a good understanding of anticipatory action and disaster risk financing, including the development, monitoring and management of risk triggers, crisis modifiers and related fund management tools. A good grasp of programme and financial management combined with an ability to provide distance support to Country Offices and partners.

The Senior Programme Manager – Anticipatory Action (AA) will have significant input and provide technical leadership on the development of a new Early Action Fund, piloted with a select group of CARE country offices. She/he is responsible for the overall management for projects supported by the Fund as well as DRF projects with the Start Network (Start Ready) across the programme management lifecycle from the contracting stage to close out. The portfolio might include other humanitarian projects dependent on pipeline and workload. The SPM-AA leads the relationship with donors, working with country offices and technical teams to ensure programmes are delivered in line with CARE International strategies and procedures, and in compliance with donor requirements. Specific areas of responsibilities include programme quality, accountability, relationship management, impact reporting and knowledge management, compliance and risk management. In addition, he/she will be an effective team member and committed to tackling discrimination and structural inequality and promoting CARE International’s Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) and Child Protection policy with team members and in day-to-day practice.

The team is looking for a talented individual to support the expansion of early and anticipatory action within CARE’s humanitarian portfolio.  You will have knowledge of trigger development, AA mechanisms and standards and a strong ability to build evidence and learning for new piloted approaches. This post plays a crucial role in enabling this to happen. Using a co-production approach, this post will bring young people’s voices to the forefront through the production of campaigns and resources for other young people and professionals.

At Ambitious about Autism, we're currently looking for Freelance Training Consultants to support our National Services team.

You'll work within the Training and Consultancy team to deliver both in person and online training to education or employment professionals, dependent on your area of expertise.

You'll possess sound knowledge and expertise in the field of autism and education/employability, specialising in delivering training and knowledge to support autistic young people. You'll support either education setting and organisations to become autism confident, providing interactive, captivating training both in-person and virtually.

You'll contribute to the creation and delivery of digital learning content to be utilised by external organisations, including employers and corporate clients, health and social care and education sectors.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Substantial experience of delivering training to professionals, parents and other audiences.
• Experience of working with autistic young people, parents/carers and employers.
• An understanding of the challenges faced by autistic young people in the workplace/education setting.
• Ability to design and deliver training and CPD programmes to improve inclusive practice.

About you

The successful candidate will have proven campaigning and influencing success with a track record of delivering change. About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced public affairs manager looking to progress their career in a high-profile charity. You will manage the Policy and Public Affairs team in Northern Ireland and lead the delivery of evidence-based and carer-led public affairs, campaigning, media and research activity across Northern Ireland.

With your team you will lead on a wide range of activity including Carers NI’s policy, research and campaigning work; as well as being responsible for the delivery of awareness campaigns like Carers Week and Carers Rights Day; fronting media and social media activity and representing the charity at the highest level of decision-making in Northern Ireland.

Carers NI’s Policy and Public Affairs team also leads on the Carer Poverty Commission in NI, as well as the Advocacy and Voice Project for unpaid carers, which you will be responsible for delivering.

Our involvement work brings together our community to mobilise urgent change in research, support, campaigning and awareness through the power of their united voices. The insight from our involvement network inspires and drives all our work across The Charity. This role involves actively engaging and stewarding everyone across all relevant and interested groups. This includes providing support to those living with a brain tumour diagnosis, their family and their friends. As part of our services team, you will ensure we engage all groups including those disadvantaged and less heard from, championing the voices of our wider community to grow our involvement network.  You will also collaborate with those professionally committed to the cause, including our research community, to ensure that people affected by brain tumours have the chance to both shape and participate in research opportunities. You will be responsible for measuring and sharing the difference we are making through the delivery and analysis of our Improving Brain Tumour Care Surveys, empowering the community to identify the gaps in treatment and care experiences, so we can make a difference where it matters most.

Who we’re looking for:

The successful candidate will have experience of working with individuals, groups and communities and have the ability to communicate complex information in clear, engaging ways. As a highly motivated and established champion of community involvement, you will have a proven track record of delivering a programme of involvement activities, including tools and resources to support meaningful patient and public involvement in research. You will be keen to use your leadership and relationship building skills to make a real difference, and have an instinct to listen, support and enable the community to drive change. Key accountabilities:

· Grow the involvement of the community in driving development of The Charity’s work including support, campaigns, fundraising, research and strategy

· Develop the involvement strategy and engage teams across the organisation to maximise the use of involvement

· Promote, advise on, and facilitate involvement activities including but not limited to focus groups, workshops and developing and undertaking surveys

· Collaborate with our Research team, contributing to the design and implementation of policies relating to research involvement

· Steward and look after the involvement network and develop their experience in a structured way over time
