Pagham Harbour is a glorious and peaceful nature reserve, one of the few undeveloped stretches of the Sussex coast. Watch Black-tailed Godwits and Little Egrets by day, then linger when skies are clear for an amazing sunset.
One of the highlights of summer at Pagham is our tern colony on Tern Island. The sound of chattering terns drifts across the languid waters mingled with the harsher squawks of the Black-headed Gulls. Common, Sandwich and Little Terns all nest on the island and it is a delight to watch these elegant seabirds fishing in the harbour, hovering briefly before diving into the water for small fish.
About the Role
As a Reserve based Seasonal Fundraiser at Pagham Harbour, you’ll work alongside friendly staff and volunteers to welcome visitors, share the importance of this extraordinary site, and inspire them to support the RSPB’s vital conservation efforts.
The role is target-driven and requires confidence, resilience, and enthusiasm - but for those who thrive on purpose and people, it’s truly rewarding.
This position may be well suited to students or individuals seeking a recurring seasonal role each year.

We are looking for someone with a compassionate outlook who enjoys working with young people (students between 18 and 30), can maintain a positive mindset in unpredictable situations and handle responsibility. This is a people-centred workplace and all work we do is geared towards our mission and to look after the welfare of the students living here. It is essential that anyone applying for this role is aligned with our mission and as passionate as we are about it.
You will be working as part of a small team, sharing office space and in close collaboration with colleagues and students. This is a diverse role where you will meet interesting people from around the world. The day-to-day job can be challenging, but we provide full training and the chance of learning many new skills. Reporting to the Warden / Deputy Warden and working alongside another Assistant Warden you willassist with the general office admin duties and various tasks around the house (including some basic maintenance and repairs) for which we will provide adequate training – however, a positive attitude is essential. You will also need to be comfortable with taking personal responsibility to ensure delegated tasks are completed successfully, effectively and, where necessary, using your own initiative.

The British Academy – the UK’s national body for the humanities and social sciences - is seeking a Facilities Coordinator to join our Estates and Facilities Team to monitor and manage the day-to-day maintenance of our historic building, supporting staff and organising sub-contractors to resolve issues as and when they arise.
The role
We are looking for a Facilities Coordinator to help us maintain a secure and well-functioning work environment in our Grade 1 listed building near St James’ Park SW1.
The role holder will be primarily responsible for providing effective and efficient support for the running and maintenance of our prestigious building, responding to facilities issues as they arise along with the operation and administration of hard and soft services.
You will support the Health and Safety functions, run the Facilities Help Desk and manage the CAFM system, amongst other day-to-day responsibilities. You will contribute to establishing best practice and work under the supervision and guidance of the Operations and Facilities Manager to ensure adherence to regulatory, statutory requirements and best practice guidance.
We are looking for a proactive team player with great communication skills. You will need to be well-organised, able to prioritise your own workload and show flexibility in meeting the needs of the team.

The Senior Fundraising and Grants Manager is accountable for:
Fundraising Strategy & Planning

Design, deliver and monitor a values-aligned fundraising strategy, with a primary focus on trusts and foundations.

Set annual income targets, track progress against goals, and report performance to senior leadership and trustees.

Identify new income opportunities to support Bite Back’s strategic growth and impact.

Develop and maintain a 12–24 month grant pipeline to forecast income and manage funding cycles.

Grants from Trusts and Foundations

Lead the processes for securing income from trusts, foundations and institutional funders, from prospect research through to submission, reporting and renewal.

Research, identify and prioritise funding opportunities aligned with Bite Back’s youth-led mission and programmes. Collaborate with internal teams to conduct due diligence to ensure funding sources are aligned with our values.

Prepare and submit high-quality, evidence-led, and compelling grant proposals in collaboration with the CEO, Director of Finance & Operations, Monitoring & Evaluation Manager, and programme leads.

Coordinate grant management and tracking: maintain accurate records of deadlines, deliverables, and reporting requirements.

Work with the finance team to develop accurate project budgets and ensure financial reporting meets funder expectations and our operational needs.

Produce and submit clear, engaging progress reports to funders that highlight impact, learning, and youth voices.

Monitor grant income and expenditure, ensuring compliance and timely claims against restricted funding.

Work with the Operations and Contracts Manager and the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager to develop and improve systems for grant tracking and data integrity within the CRM (Salesforce).

They are currently recruiting for a Senior Social Worker to be based in their office in Pontefract to lead the service delivery within the Yorkshire and North East region, managing a team of office based and home-based Social Work Assistants providing advice and support to former Miners and their dependents.
Role Purpose
Responsibility for the professional leadership and management of service delivery within the regional personal welfare team. The role also involves promoting the service locally and developing partnerships with other agencies for the benefit of the client group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the personal welfare team for the Yorkshire and North East region to provide a high quality, professional, outcomes focused service for former Miners and their dependents.
- Ensure the effective management of casework across the team including case allocation and management.
- Manage a small caseload of clients, when necessary, with a variety of needs, by carrying out high quality assessments and providing a range of appropriate interventions in response to assessed needs of the clients e.g. welfare benefits advice, advocacy, emotional support and practical advice.
- Drive service performance and improvement, monitoring efficiency and effectiveness and taking action to address performance or practice issues should they arise.
- Support the team through supervision, appraisal, case reviews and observations.

- Degree in social work or equivalent social work qualification and current professional registration.

- Experience of community based social care services with experience of delivery with older people and / or disability services.
- Experience of implementing systems and processes and facilitating change.
- Experience of contributing to the development and updating of policies and practice in line with legislative changes and good practice.

- Knowledge and understanding of the values and principles underpinning working with vulnerable adults and their Carers within the community setting.
