As Development Manager, you will:

• Support mining charities to develop business plans and budgeting and help them to identify funding opportunities and develop funding proposals.

• Support the recruitment and training of local trustees and officers, encouraging good governance

• Ensure the organisation interests and responsibilities in partner charities are retained and fulfilled.
• Represent the organisation with external parties, including, welfare charities, councils and local authorities as required

We3can is a collaboration between three cancer charities - Brain Tumour Research, Leukaemia UK and Sarcoma UK. We3Can is an ambitious collaboration of the three charities to fund research into prevention, treatment and cures for the most common childhood cancers: brain tumours, leukaemia and sarcoma. Job Purpose:

The Project Development Manager will be the main point of contact for the collaboration. They will be responsible for implementing and delivering the project plan, monitoring, evaluations, reporting, all systems and processes, coordinating meetings, etc and for generating income through (mainly) Corporate partnerships but may include some Trusts and High Value individuals. These partners will be with organisations/individuals who would otherwise be outside the reach of any of the three charities individually.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create systems and processes for administering and managing the functions of the partnership.
• Ensure regular project group meetings take place.
• Lead on the promotion of the brand and communications activities in conjunction with the communications experts on the project group.
• Monitor website and social media activity.
• Promote and implement activities to increase the profile of the collaboration.
• Identify, add and manage a pipeline of prospective funders.
• Develop and implement a strategic income generation plan to and achieve annual revenue targets.
• Use the data base to manage reporting, indicator evaluation and to manager GDPR, Gift Aid (where appropriate) etc.
• Regularly report against the agreed KPI’s in the strategic income generation plan.
• Provide fortnightly written updates on activity.
• Identify and pursue prospective partners through research, networking and outreach.
• Develop tailored partnership proposals and pitches that articulate the mutual benefits to potential partners.
• Manage cultivation cycle - qualify, pitch, negotiate and close new business opportunities.
• Steward and renew existing partner relationships through exceptional account management.
• Work closely with the marketing team to develop co-branded campaigns, marketing assets and employee engagement initiatives.
• Track and report on fundraising activities including pipeline, projections and results.
• Develop fundraising marketing materials and content for website, social media, etc.

The person:

Organisation Overview

CDS UK (the Clinic for Dissociative Studies) is a psychotherapy service, established 25 years ago to provide assessment and long-term specialist outpatient treatment to people with dissociative disorders. Its patients have often suffered the most extreme forms of abuse over a long period, and represent one of the most vulnerable and complex client groups. CDS UK is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) and an Independent Provider to the NHS, and is subcontracted by NHS commissioning organisations nationally on a discretionary perpatient basis, where local mental health services are unable to provide appropriate treatment. CDS UK has a small core team of employees, mainly based around London, and a larger group of associate therapists, support workers and supervisors working throughout England and in Scotland. The organisation has seen steady growth in referrals over the past few years.

Job Summary

One of the key elements of the role will be to manage a caseload of referrals from receipt of referral through to submission of funding application and referral outcome. The postholder will be one of two people within CDS UK’s core team with responsibility for this. 

There will also be an allocations management function, involving matching new (and/or existing) patients with suitable clinical staff, usually from within CDS UK’s group of associates, but sometimes via the recruitment of new practitioners.

The role will include a range of other tasks key to the successful functioning and development of CDS UK. Amongst these are maintaining a log of, and costing where appropriate, allpotential service developments (from requests for training to submissions to funders), developing reporting from basic information systems, checking and sending of patient progress reports and monitoring of patient funding. They also include developing our outgoing communications – such as via our website – and helping to explore opportunities for developing our charitable arm.

As part of our small Business and Administrative Team, the role will encompass some ad hoc administrative tasks, and may require delegation of some tasks and/or some line management duties as required.

Join us as our next Centre Manager and use your leadership and interpersonal skills to head up our team delivering employment support in Spear Bristol.

In partnership with Christ Church Clifton, you’ll be managing the delivery of Resurgo's award-winning Spear Programme. Over the last 18 years, Spear has supported more than 8,000 young people across the UK with the work-ready skills and mindset they need to succeed in employment, no matter the challenges they face. In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

Strategy, vision and impact [30%]

• Spearheading Resurgo’s ‘big picture’ vision of a transformed society, where each member plays its part, and the church is empowered to transform young lives
• Owning and managing the strategy for Spear Bristol that will help make this vision a reality
• Ensuring the Spear Programme is delivered in line with agreed targets; overseeing and reporting on impact metrics

Relationship management [25%]

• Building and managing great relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including referrers, local businesses, donors, and your Board of Trustees
• You'll be embedded into Christ Church Clifton, and working closely with your Trust and congregation, and actively participating in their mission and events

Leadership, line management and training [20%]

• Leading your team with confidence; spurring them on in your centre’s vision; investing in a team culture of excellence, belonging and fun
• Investing in the professional growth of your Lead Coach and Graduate Coach
• Inputting into organisational-wide training streams
• Inputting into recruitment of new team members

Driving a culture of coaching [20%]

• Driving a culture of coaching in your team
• Hands-on group and 1-1 coaching with numerous 16-24-year-olds: equipping them with practical work-ready skills and resilient mindsets
  • Engaging in gritty conversations with your trainees; walking alongside them whatever their circumstances; inspiring them and releasing their potential
  • Managing safeguarding
• Opportunities to engage in corporate coaching

Operations [5%]

• Managing the daily operational activity of your centre, including IT, finance and health and safety

This role will suit you if:

• You are an active Christian, passionate about personally representing the values and beliefs of Resurgo and Christ Church Clifton
• A commitment to grow and learn spiritually and as a Christian leader, and a desire to learn and understand coaching techniques
• Passion for social justice and for working as part of the church to transform communities, especially supporting young people in employment of education
• Effective interpersonal skills, high emotional intelligence, a sense of humour and fun!
• Strong leadership and management skills, highly self-motivated with strong initiative and the ability to translate ideas into practice
• An ambitious and self-motivated individual with the ability to prioritise workload, exercise initiative and work well under pressure
