Everything we do in the next five years will be based on a single aim – to stop people dying of blood cancer or the side effects of its treatments. We want to put people affected by blood cancer at the centre of everything we do.
As Research Involvement Lead, you’ll be responsible for leading a programme of patient and public involvement in research, a core component of our charity wide involvement strategy.
This role will ensure that our research strategy and funding programme is shaped by the priorities and needs of people affected by blood cancer. You’ll review and refine our processes to ensure they are in line with sector best practice and that they meet the needs of our community of people affected by blood cancer. You’ll further embed effective and meaningful involvement at all stages of the research cycle at Blood Cancer UK.
You’ll also work to support the involvement of people affected by blood cancer in external research and strategic projects across the UK. You will ensure that the research we and others fund is patient focussed and has the potential to accelerate progress and deliver the maximum impact for the communities we support.

About You
You will be skilled in the translation of complex medical and health information into engaging and accessible patient information, and have experience of working with patients and healthcare professionals to develop information resources in line with recognised standards.

Age UK are recruiting for a Senior Influencing Project Manager on a fixed term 12 month contract.
We will be developing a number of research, policy and practice development projects in support of our new strategy. These include the 'extremely vulnerable people' project and a new partnership researching older people's experiences pre and post an urgent episode of care or emergency hospital admission.
This exciting opportunity will also take on responsibility for managing our response to the Pandemic Inquiry and relationship with the Health and Wellbeing Alliance. This is initially a 12-month role, with the possibility of extending to 24 months depending on project funding.
The successful Senior Strategic Influencing Manager will take the lead in designing and delivering these complex projects, including management of external partners, consultants or agencies and internal teams as required. For over 60 years the National Children’s Bureau (NCB) has been building a better childhood for all.
This role will play a pivotal role in overseeing our work with policy makers and Parliamentarians, bringing evidence and children’s voice to the heart of government.
As well as overseeing NCB’s core work on policy and public affairs, this role will be crucial in helping the growing team develop new income streams. It will provide project management and oversight on a number of important grants and government contracts held by the Policy and Public Affairs team.

The successful candidate will work with the Head of the Gambling Action Lab (GAL) and the Senior Research Officer to bring together a handful of representatives from financial services firms to explore ways to reduce gambling-related financial harms. They will build and maintain stakeholder relationships and play a key role in facilitating group discussions with financial services representatives. This exciting role will also involve driving and promoting the work and visibility of the GAL, and planning and delivering a programme of events to promote our work.

In this position, you will play an important role in helping us to further understand the links between money, mental health problems and gambling harms and work with firms and stakeholders to develop practical solutions that lead to real change.
The full-time equivalent salary is either £41,283 at the Senior Officer level or £32,915 at the Officer level.
This role can be offered as London-based or remote (with twice-monthly travel to the London office) and either full-time (37.5 hours over 5 days) or part-time (minimum 30 hours over 4 days a week).

Summary of the role:
We are seeking a new Director who will be responsible for working with the Board to:
i) Develop and deliver of DSN-UK's overall strategy and objectives;
ii) Provide strategic leadership to influence the policy and practice of key stakeholders to further DSN’s vision of a ‘world without caste discrimination’;
iii) Lead overall management of DSN-UK, including management of DSN-UK staff, its finances and other resources.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Leadership and strategy
Responsible for implementing DSN-UK’s strategy through specific campaign, lobbying and advocacy activities, including development of key messages and influencing strategies.
Maintaining partnerships and network support within the UK, with partners in South Asia and international partners.
Conducting joint advocacy at UK/EU/UN level, representing these issues at UK Government level and participating in other joint initiatives as appropriate.
Operational Management
Responsible for the day-to-day management of DSN-UK, including key aspects of its internal administration, particularly providing oversight of financial management, annual budgets and the preparation of regular financial and programme reports for the Board.
Fundraising:
Leading the development and implementation of a fundraising strategy for DSN-UK, preparing funding proposals and reporting to donors on project achievements.
Human Resources:
Managing one part time office administrator and appointing other staff, volunteers and consultants in consultation with the Chair.

What we are looking for in a Director:
1. A track record of successfully working at a senior level with strategic leadership and management responsibilities.
2. Ability to develop organisational strategies and translate them into plans and budgets.
3. Experience of working on issues of social justice/human rights/equality, diversity and inclusion and of campaigning for change.

You will be contracted to your home address, and you will perform most of your work remotely there using our collaboration tools to work with colleagues, with occasional travel (incl. for monthly team meetings) to our London Head Office hub.
