Due to service expansion, we have a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic Education Advisor to join Barnardo's as part of the SENDiass service in Rochdale and Bury. We currently have one 30 hour post available. Covering the Rochdale and Bury areas, it is essential to hold a valid UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle. As an educational advisor, you will have passion, commitment and confidence when working with Children and Young People and their families. You will work as part of a team to support them to understand their rights and feel empowered. The role also involves delivering workshops to support parents to understand their child's needs and communicate effectively with school/college.

The service has a comprehensive training offer including 3 levels of legal training via IPSEA. To be a successful, you will need to have the following:

- Excellent team working skills. You will work as part of a team that covers the Greater Manchester area.
- Safeguarding knowledge and good recording skills
- Use of a car
This service is dynamic, no two days are the same. You will work with a diverse range of families. The service runs 52 weeks per year, 5 days per week.

This role sits within our Youth Impact Domain, which works to provide immediate one-to-one and group support for children who urgently need support. Your role will be to help us maintain and develop innovative practices to support our work in our services nationwide. As well as this, you will design, deliver and evaluate high-quality safeguarding and practice training to support and develop our direct practice colleagues.
We are currently looking for someone with a wealth of safeguarding experience and confidence in training delivery to join our dynamic, ambitious team.
A key part of this role will be your ability to:

-Design, development, review and delivery of safeguarding-related training across the organisation.

In order to be successful in this role, you must have:
-SW England registered social worker or substantial safeguarding experience

-Experience in designing and delivering online training and learning resources
-An Ability to work alongside colleagues in a supportive way and assume the role of a critical friend, providing a challenge.

The Role
In April 2021 the Domestic Abuse Act received Royal Assent. The Act introduces a new civil Domestic Abuse Protection Notice (DAPN) to provide immediate protection following a domestic abuse incident, and a new civil Domestic Abuse Protection Order (DAPO) to provide flexible, longer-term protection for victims. DAPOs can impose both prohibitions and positive requirements on perpetrators. We were commissioned by the Home Office to design a triage model that will assess individuals for the suitability of these interventions; this triage model will be rolled out in the pilot sites which are going live in May 2024 and will be tested and evaluated in order to prepare for national roll out in 2026.The Programme Manager will oversee the roll out and delivery of the DAPO pilot Triage Model.
