International Care Network (ICN) is a Christian charity whose aim is to help to rebuild the lives of refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants. We are seeking an experienced IAA Immigration Advisor to join our friendly team. We need a qualified IAA Level 2 or Level 3 immigration advisor, or a solicitor/barrister with immigration experience. In this role, you will work with marginalised adults and families, guiding them through complex immigration journeys with compassion and professionalism. Thus, the qualified immigration advisor will play a critical role in helping people find hope and stability in the challenging environment of being a migrant in the UK.

You as the immigration advisor will take a holistic approach to supporting and empowering our service users/clients, working with the rest of the ICN team and partner organisations to ensure their needs are met and barriers addressed. Specifically, you will manage your own immigration caseload, concentrating on applications involving family, private life and other human rights matters as well as protection routes. Although ICN does not currently take on asylum cases, you will provide information, advice and referral to other organisations for people seeking asylum.

About the role

As the Brand and Creative Manager you will lead a team of two to collaborate with colleagues across the charity, external agencies and children and young people with cancer, and their families, to create and oversee the delivery of a calendar of content that lead to deeper levels of engagement, greater action and a significant increase in income. 

You will manage our brand identity, lead the on-going development and delivery of our brand guidelines and tone of voice workshops to empower colleagues to create their own audience-led communications.

The ideal Children's Resource Worker will already have some experience in engagement and participation with vulnerable young people, care experienced children or have similar experience in child-facing settings. High level of flexibility required to cover weekends, evenings and bank holidays. Occasionally may be required to support with overnight residentials and night support within the foster home. Car driver and owning a car is essential. There will be opportunities for training and development for this role, as new workers join us at our organisation wide journey to become a fully trauma-informed organisation. JOB DESCRIPTION  

This is an exciting opportunity to coordinate the Trust’s health programmes within leading children’s hospitals, and education programmes within schools across the UK.

Our Children’s Hospital One-to-One Mentoring Programme offers patients aged 11 to 18 years old  an exceptional experience through receiving one to one mentoring from our world class Athlete Mentors and through accessing online materials.  The programme supports young people who are or have been seriously ill, and or injured patients with their physical and mental wellbeing whilst they are receiving care as in or outpatients at hospital.

Our Education Programmes help young people build healthy relationships in school and with the wider community, and understand the importance of physical and mental wellness. With a strong focus on their own personal development, it promotes positive behaviours and attitudes, and sets them up to achieve in education, work and life. 

Reporting to the Programme Manager, you will be responsible for: 

• Coordinating our One-to-One Mentoring programmes in hospitals, supporting young people to sign up (with their guardian), and linking them with their athlete mentor.  You will also be responsible for building and maintaining excellent relationships with hospital staff to ensure a steady flow of referrals and to ensure we provide the best possible experience and outcomes for patients who join our programme.

• Coordinating schools-based programmes, liaising with participating schools, supporting young people’s registration, and working with our athlete mentors to ensure smooth delivery.

The role would suit someone who has a proven track record of coordinating multi stakeholder youth programmes (ideally within/or in partnership with the health and/or education sector) and who is compassionate and willing to go the extra mile to provide an exceptional experience for patients (and guardians), and young people.

As a key member of the Trust’s team, you will have the opportunity to work closely with all of our team including alongside our world class Athlete Mentors.  We are a close, supportive and innovative team, who want to see all our employees fulfil their potential.   

While the role is home-based, the post holder will be required to attend some in person meetings across the UK, including at children’s hospitals and visiting schools.

• Build lasting relationships with hospital staff to facilitate referrals and provide a seamless onboarding journey for patients and guardians.

In this role, you’ll help improve the digital tools we use to support thousands of students from underrepresented backgrounds to access top careers. Working closely with developers, colleagues from the Product Team, and our users themselves, you’ll support the development of products that make a real difference - every day.

You don’t need to have worked in product management before. If you’re excited about using technology to make things better, and you enjoy solving problems and collaborating with others, we’d love to hear from you.

You’ll contribute to the development of one of our key products, supporting its continuous improvement from idea to launch and beyond.

About the role

We’re looking for a Learning and Development Coordinator (known internally as People Development Coordinator) with either experience in learning and development and/or a strong interest in building a career in the field to join our People Development Team

You’ll support the team in the coordination of internal and externally commissioned learning and development activities, working closely within the team, your departmental colleagues, and internal subject experts on a wide range of subjects and topics that are core areas for our workforce. You will maintain and continually improve our course evaluation, record keeping, and administrative processes, and bring new ideas and solutions to improve efficiency and measure impact. By supporting the wider charity with corporate induction and activities that help the workforce to drive their own development, you will play a key role in ensuring our people are supported to be the best they can be and maximise their talents for the benefit of children and young people with cancer.

This is a part-time role (21 hours a week). This is a hybrid role which can be home-based, hybrid or office-based (Bristol), with some flexibility depending on the post holder.

What will I be doing?

No two days are the same at Young Lives vs Cancer. So, summarising your ‘day to day’ isn’t easy. Here are some of the main things you’ll be doing, but you’ll find more details in the job description.

• Promoting the 70:20:10 model and providing the appropriate resources and signposting to enable our workforce to proactively drive their own development.
• To promote and support the use of new and existing learning and development tools and opportunities to enable people to develop themselves.   
• To work closely with the rest of the People Development team, People and Culture business partners and internal client base to coordinate and commission high-quality, value for money learning opportunities which further Young Lives vs Cancer’s ability to reach our strategic goals. 
• Create, maintain, and develop learning and eLearning resources in collaboration with appropriate subject matter experts across the charity. 
• Promote and provide up-to-date information and support about the People Development offer to the rest of the organisation, including the UK’s Growth and Skills Levy scheme.

• We are looking for someone with natural organisation and people skills who thrives in a collaborative environment, is adaptable, a great team player, and enjoys a challenge. 
• Experienced in administrative and coordination duties and working in a learning focussed environment 
• Good written and verbal communication skills 
• Strong time management and organisational skills, with great attention to detail 
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks and projects
• IT skills and being proactive about developing your own skills -  especially Office 365 and a good working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases are a must. A working knowledge of SharePoint is a plus.
