Purpose of the job:
This key role in our fundraising team will be integral in helping the team meet our ambitious targets. Working predominantly on Trusts and Foundations applications, leading the development and submission of high-quality proposals, with opportunities to work across additional income streams. The postholder will be responsible for securing grants, developing relationships, providing excellent stewardship to funders, and working collaboratively with colleagues.
Key responsibilities include:

ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for a Head of Safeguarding & Professional Standards with a background in social work to join Young Lives vs Cancer.
The Head of Safeguarding & Professional Standards works to create a positive organisational safeguarding culture where safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, through shaping, implementing and monitoring safeguarding activity, policy, training and governance across the whole organisation. The role also sets professional standards for our Services Directorate, and highlights areas for continuous improvement, and by directly delivering or designing and commissioning training, they enable Young Lives vs Cancer to respond to changes in policy, legislation and best practice in social care and safeguarding.
You would be joining us at a really exciting time in our journey. Following two innovative peer reviews with partner charities, we are confident in our approach to safeguarding. But like many organisations, we need to prepare for the future. With the launch of a new strategy later this year, we are looking outward to understand how we can create a better future for young cancer patients, one in which the whole system of support around them works together, face to face and digitally, and no-one is left behind. We constantly challenge how we do things, and are experimenting with new ways to create impact, influence the whole system, and importantly – fund this vital work.
You’ll be vital to this journey, leading our approach to safeguarding and professional standards and giving us a high level of confidence as we move forward. You will work closely with a passionate and dedicated group of trustees, directors and management teams who lead activities from frontline social care services through to fundraising and support services.
This role is subject to a criminal record check. In the event of a successful application an Enhanced Criminal Record Check will be completed. This role is also subject to a Social Worker Registration.
WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

The Head of Safeguarding & Professional Standards:
- Shapes, implements and monitors and reports performance against the safeguarding policy, training and governance across the whole organisation including with the trustees
- Reports to and supports the trustee Safeguarding Committee
- Oversees the governance of safeguarding referrals and activity in local social care teams
- Advises on safeguarding matters anywhere else across the organisational structure (including in income generation, for example)
- Works closely with the Services Senior Management team to set professional standards for our services and highlight areas for continuous improvement
- Planning and directly delivering, or designing and commissioning training, to enable Young Lives vs Cancer to respond to changes in policy, legislation and best practice in social care and safeguarding
WHAT DO I NEED?
The person we are looking for will have:
- The right experience: you must be a registered social worker and have worked as a as a social worker and in a strategic role in children or young people's social care services, delivering safe services with particular reference to safeguarding and assurance, and have significant experience of developing social work practice at a strategic or system level
- The right leadership expertise: with strong leadership and collaborative planning skills you will have ability to work collaboratively to oversee how things work, and influence stakeholders across the charity
- The right people skills: Confidence to challenge ways of thinking and the communication skills to coach and empower people to build a culture of safeguarding.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for a Head of Digital to join our Brand and Marketing Communications team on a 12 month maternity contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a newly formed digital responsible for both digital experience and digital engagement.
You will provide strategic expertise and direction to ensure that digital team are supported to deliver integrated and best practice marketing campaigns. Champion the ongoing development of the Young Lives vs Cancer website and work with the Digital Experience Manager to refine the roadmap for improvements.
This is a key role in championing the impact of digital expertise within the organisation, supporting the team to create a data driven and innovative approach to activity, through continuous iteration and improvement. Working with stakeholders across the organisation in order to realise the potential of digital solutions and channels to deliver excellent online experiences.

About Us
Unfold is an established local charity (previously known as Westminster Befriend a Family), supporting young people and families to reach their potential, identifying and achieving their goals through mentoring. We support families and young people in Westminster and its neighbouring boroughs with mentoring programmes and peer support groups for women with children.
For 30 years, we have been providing support to vulnerable families who are at risk of social exclusion. Working with a network of trained and DBS checked volunteers, we offer mentoring to women with children and young people, building independence and getting them where they want to be.
Roles and Responsibilities
Supporting the planning and delivery of volunteer strategy with the aims of 1) Increasing the number of volunteers available to us as we grow and expand geographically and develop programme focus; 2) Diversifying our volunteers; 3) Improving volunteer experience and; 4) Increasing volunteer retention.
Volunteer Recruitment
- Overseeing the smooth and efficient recruitment, including drafting job descriptions and advertising on multiple online platforms.
- Supporting the selection and induction of volunteer mentors and referencing and DBS checking in a timely manner.
- Supervising our Office Volunteer in the processing, support and onboarding of volunteers.

Founded in 1903, Fauna & Flora International (FFI) is the world’s longest established international conservation organisation. Our vision is to create a sustainable future for the planet where biodiversity is conserved by the people living closest to it. We aim to do this through the conservation of threatened species and ecosystems worldwide, choosing solutions that are sustainable, based on sound science and take account of human needs. We have become a trusted entity in the world of conservation. Today FFI is active in over 40 countries.
On-farm biodiversity is key for providing ecosystem services within farmlands, as well as contributing to the resilience of biodiversity within the wider landscape. There is a growing body of research on how certain farmland management practices can support more on-farm biodiversity, and the beneficial impacts that this can provide to farmers (e.g., pollination). However, findings can vary greatly across studies, making it difficult to identify which agricultural practices can effectively increase biodiversity on farms. During this internship you will review the current knowledge, engage with in-country teams to capture their experiences, and develop management recommendations to help farmers to adopt practices which support more biodiversity on their farms, and so contributing to more ecologically resilient and biodiverse landscapes.
This internship will help you strengthen your skills in information synthesis and critical thinking, where you will work closely with agriculture-focused colleagues to develop guidance on what to consider when designing interventions for improving on-farm biodiversity. You’ll learn about the practicalities of implementing conservation projects in the field by interacting with agriculture staff from in-country teams and develop communication skills by engaging in meetings and developing and disseminating your findings (e.g. by developing recommendations, presenting results).
During this internship, you will have the opportunity to collaborate and work within the wider People & Nature team, by attending monthly meetings and discussions. Working within an international conservation organisation, you will learn from ongoing projects across the globe, to gain experience in biodiversity conservation within agricultural landscapes.
We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about on-farm biodiversity and biodiversity-friendly agricultural approaches and has a strong interest in learning and knowledge exchange. You must be a team player, with the ability to develop and work on your own initiative and have strong interpersonal skills and consideration for working with individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
Note that this internship has been designed to create a professional development opportunity for people who are new to the conservation sector. Therefore, applicants should have less than two years’ paid or unpaid experience in the conservation sector (not including academic work).

This is an exciting opportunity to join the TCV Sussex team to expand and develop our Health Walks offer as part of our new Green Gateways social prescribing project.
The successful candidate is likely to have previous experience of managing volunteers, delivering training and have knowledge of social prescribing or public health. For more information please see TCV website.
East Sussex Health Walks is a long running county-wide scheme of weekly one hour walks led by trained community volunteers. Last year we had nearly 20,000 walking engagements and we want to build on this. This post is for a Health Walk Coordinator to coordinate and develop the programme to help even more people to improve their health and wellbeing with regular, manageable exercise.
You will be coordinating the existing programme of Health Walks (approximately 25 per week) and managing the large group of Volunteer Health Walk Leaders (currently about 100). You will be responsible for recruiting and training new volunteers and developing new Health Walks to meet the funder's targets, including liaising with local partners, mapping, risk assessing and planning.
There will be ongoing marketing and publicity needs, as well as regular internal comms with volunteers to make sure they feel supported and valued and to reinforce and role model TCV best practise for safe, inclusive and supportive activities.
You will also be responsible for general project running tasks such as purchasing, scheme admin, report writing, attending events, liaising with funders & partners, meeting targets and deadlines.

The post is currently funded until October 2025. It is full-time (35 hours per week) and based in the TCV office in Hastings but covers the whole county. · The work will include some on call responsibilities on evenings and weekends for the Hospital Discharge Services which an extra payment will be made.

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Line Management and Leadership

Service Delivery

- Support the Service Manager to ensure service responsibilities and requirements are carried out effectively. This includes but is not limited to; welfare checks, risk assessments, support sessions, safeguarding checks, training and development, and other responsibilities required for effective service delivery.
- Support team to carry out their day to day duties and responsibilities, offer guidance and support as necessary.
- Work proactively alongside the Service Manager to ensure the service and team meet and exceed Key Performance Indicators, and work in line with professional codes of conduct.
- Empower residents and participants to make decisions to take control over their lives, by creating an enabling environment.
- Be part of the operational on-call Rota for providing out-of-hours support across the operations directorate.
Risk Management
- Follow relevant risk assessment and management procedures, share relevant information with others as necessary.
- Ensure all case recording and information is accurately recorded in a timely manner, ensuring confidentiality and GDPR.
- Alongside the Service Manager, champion, and act as a point of reference for safeguarding concerns within the service(s). Ensure all staff attend relevant safeguarding and training and use knowledge to coach and advise the team.
Property and Housing Management
- Ensure the accommodation in which residents live is clean and maintained to a high standard
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance issues are correctly reported and managed through to completion.
- Ensure a provision of high quality housing management service is provided to residents.
Financial Management
- Support the Service Manager in managing the service budget and review monthly management accounts: Set budgets and ensure resources are maximised.
- Promote effective cost control mechanisms and other financial activities.
- Maintain financial management within the service.
Other
- Some of what else is included: Contract management and Internal auditing, admin, and general other duties as required.

KEY CRITERIA
What we are looking for:
- Understanding and/or experience of working with people of complex backgrounds, ex-offenders, mental health, substance misuse, challenging behaviours
- Experience of working with and engaging with diverse groups of people from varying backgrounds

Endeavour Academy is for children and young people with autism and moderate or severe learning disabilities. Endeavour House provides 6 permanent placements and 5 short break places used for respite provision. The Role
As Head of Care (Registered Manager) you will have overall responsibility for the management, leadership and direction of the children’s home. You will work with the support of the Responsible Individual and the Trust Central Team.
The role will be busy and varied and you will take the operational lead for all safeguarding matters. You will also be responsible for training and supervision. You must be willing to go above and beyond for the children and young people, ensuring that they have a positive experience of childhood that they can reflect upon and carry with them into adulthood.
You will work in close partnership with the Principal and senior leadership team of the on-site school to ensure continuity of provision across the school and the home and the development of the 24-hour curriculum.
About You

You will have significant experience of working in a residential childcare setting, and you will have previous management experience. You will have some in-depth knowledge of have Autism and Severe Learning difficulties and experience of designing bespoke solutions to children who requires specialist support strategies to achieve excellent outcomes.
A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Children and Young People’s Residential Management) qualification is a bonus but not essential as we support you to enroll and complete this. Background
In 2019 NHS England set out a bold and radical redesign of community mental health services through the publication of the community mental health framework for adults and older adults. In response, Rethink Mental Illness published Communities that Care: a blueprint for supporting people severely affected by mental illness in their communities.
We believe that to really transform previously broken and fragmented systems of mental health support, communities and organisations must come together in the spirit of collaboration.
This cannot be delivered by any one organisation on their own. Supporting local systems to work more effectively together through partnerships and alliances is a key component of our five-year strategy.
The work of our Strategic Partnerships & Alliances Division is critical in achieving this objective. The division includes the local teams providing alliance leadership, participation, delivery and infrastructure support. We bring together expertise from across the charity - on co-production, community engagement, alliance building, infrastructure and corporate resources.
This specialist support interfaces with place-based partnership and alliance teams who are working with local VCFSE groups, charities, community organisations, citizens, NHS and social care, in places around England to transform community mental health services and build communities that care around people affected by mental illness.

For the past three years the development of a mental health VCFSE alliance in Tower Hamlets has been enabled by a grant Rethink Mental Illness received from the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF).

About the role:

Working arrangements:

For post holders living or based in Greater London, £3,000 (pro rata) per annum London Allowance applies. Actual amount for 23 hours per week is £1,971.43 per annum.
The role is home-based with access to our Head office hub in Vauxhall for the purpose of internal meetings, collaboration, or occasional hot desking.
The post holder will frequently attend meetings within the borough of Tower Hamlets.
