The Role
What will I be doing?
- Supporting the Manager- Teaching Workforce in the development of a report on Recruitment, Retention and Retraining physics teachers in further education
- Supporting the development of relationships with key stakeholders in the education sector, including curating key networks such as the Initial Teaching Training community
- Undertaking activities to support the development of a robust research and evidence base around: the factors underpinning the health of the physics teaching workforce and how best to create the conditions for this to thrive
Projects you work on may include:
- Curating and supporting stakeholder networks, including the Initial Teacher community
- Recruitment, Retention and Retraining Physics Teachers in Further Education report

We are looking for a Project Delivery Officer to help drive the success of our IT infrastructure and services projects. What does this role do?

The Deputy CEO Directorate (DCEO) plays a key role in overseeing Dogs Trust's internal operations, ensuring the effective management of the Charity’s financial, legal, IT, efficiencies, facilities, and governance functions. Hedgerow Heroes Project Officer - fixed term contact, 9 months

About the role This is an exciting time to join CPRE Hertfordshire as we look to initiate our work across the county protecting and restoring the county’s hedgerows. You will be the lead in this ambition to plant over 2km of hedgerow in Hertfordshire.
It is a big project funded by a CPRE corporate sponsor, but the Hedgerow Heroes Project Officer (HHPO) will have excellent allies and advice every step of the way.
Knowledge and experience in conservation would be an advantage, but the main attributes which this person will bring to the role will be top quality organisation and communication skills.
CPRE Hertfordshire will be working alongside another environmental group who will offer guidance and support on choosing hedgerow plants for planting. This role requires working with volunteers to support with hedgerow planting.
The person in this role will be expected to reach out to bring all the networks and ambition together for the hedgerow planting experience.
Good communication will be key at every stage – with the partners, the participants, the landowners and the funder.
Key responsibilities include:
Communications and Project Management
• Develop a database of volunteers, partnerships and stakeholders to recruit for the planting of 2km of hedgerows.
• Develop criteria for planting locations for the hedgerows and engage landowners in identifying / agreeing sections of hedgerow for planting.
• Use these criteria to develop a best practice guide for hedge planting and after-care, to support landowners, community groups and others in maintaining their newly planted hedgerows.
• Communicate with wider supporters/stakeholders such as schools, colleges, parish councils and community groups with an invitation to plant hedgerows.
• Contribute to the production of a detailed publicity programme aimed at publicising the Hedgerow Heroes project, recruiting support, securing additional plants, acknowledging partners and the funder.
• Provide a monthly report for partners, the funder, trustees and colleagues.
• Attend regular project meetings with our National Office (online).
Planning and Delivery
• Timetable and map the days where hedgerows will be planted and/or restored.
• Keep to the project budget and record expenditure.
• Secure the equipment from the project budget.
• Ensure plants, equipment materials (i.e. stakes and binders) and risk assessments are all in place for each day.
• Liaise directly with the various parties involved in this project, including professional hedgerow planting trainers instructing courses, volunteers, landowners, community groups and other relevant organisations.
• Oversee and attend each planting day.
Personal profile
• You must share our mission to promote, enhance and protect Hertfordshire countryside with a passion for hedgerows.
• You will be an enthusiastic self-starter, keen to work in a small team in a flexible and adaptable way.
• You will need to have good IT skills and some office experience will be an advantage.
• You must be able to self-start tasks and work independently with occasional out of hours working.
• You must have good oral and written communication skills.
• You must have a full driving licence.

About the role
A new and exciting opportunity to work with us supporting the developments of active travel and liveable spaces for communities across the West Midlands.
As the Project Officer you will lead and support behaviour change projects across the West Midlands and Staffordshire with schools, workplaces, job seekers and communities. Engaging with a range of key individuals and delivering walking and cycling activities such as Dr Bike sessions, led walks and rides, school assemblies and community workshops.
As part of the Active Journeys Team, you will support people to walk, wheel and cycle by promoting opportunities and help overcome barriers to active travel. Projects will include improved walking and cycling infrastructure and making it possible for every child to walk, wheel and cycle to school.
Activities will be delivered both Online and face to face, and likely to include schools, workplaces and the diverse range of communities in the Midlands.
This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.
About you
You should have experience of leading physical activity or other behaviour change projects within schools, workplaces or communities. You should also have experience of working on projects within an established project management framework.
You will have excellent organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise and manage own workload. You will be able to build and maintain strong relationships and a flexible and enthusiastic approach. With the ability to engage and support lesser heard voices in the community.

Nurturing Natural Connections
Our client is looking for a passionate and driven person to habitat restoration, creation and enhancement activities on their owned greenspaces within the Nurturing Natural Connections (NNC) project, working closely with the Cumbernauld Reserves Manager, and project partners, and with the help of volunteers.
Building on the success of previous projects, this project continues to realise the Cumbernauld Living Landscape long-term vision to improve Cumbernauld’s green spaces for both people and wildlife, helping everyone in the community connect with the nature on their doorstep.
The candidate:
The successful candidate will have a Higher Education qualification in environmental land management (Wildlife conservation/agriculture) and at least two years’ experience of wildlife reserve management and demonstrable track record in the environmental land management sector.
Main Objectives
The main objectives of the role are:
Habitat management

Support delivery of habitat works, including woodland restocking towards native semi-natural woodland, creation and enhancement of species-rich grasslands and enhancing riparian corridors.

Monitor and evaluate (M&E) the delivery of these works including details of their successes and challenges.

Undertake and manage the maintenance of tools and equipment for relevant sites, including machinery, to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Respond to severe weather events with reactive remedial works as required e.g. clearing fallen trees and reinstating ground damaged by flooding.
Health and Safety

Ensure compliance with health and safety, including safe working practices, volunteer safety, premises safety, and site safety.

Ensure all work by project staff, and volunteers is carried out in a safe manner, and in accordance with Health & Safety legislation, policies, activity risk assessments and best practice guidance.
Volunteer recruitment

Support the recruitment of volunteers and identify and promote volunteer opportunities within Cumbernauld Living Landscape.

Work with individual volunteers and volunteer groups (including corporate groups) so that their contributions and experiences are maximised and, where required, organise and mentor volunteers ensuring that they receive support and appropriate training.

About the role
University Access Officers are responsible for delivering The Access Project’s high impact mentoring programme to students across our partner schools. This role works with a caseload of students supporting them from the start of Year 10 up to the end of Year 13 to understand the pathway to a top university.
The role also involves project coordination, working with our schools, volunteers and teams across The Access Project to ensure our young people are fully supported and have the best possible chance of achieving social mobility and enhancing their future prospects.
This role is for a University Access Officer to work across our two schools in Cumbria, The Whitehaven Academy and Workington Academy. Our schools are shown on a map on our website.
Role responsibilities
- Work directly with young people mentoring a caseload of students in a professional and safe manner.
- Deliver our University Readiness programme through in-depth, targeted 1:1 mentoring sessions with Year 10 to Year 13 students.
- Assess student progress towards being able to make successful university applications.
- Engage with students in school and enrol them onto the programme.
- Match students with volunteer tutors.
- Monitor student attendance to tutorials and devise innovative solutions to encourage attendance.
