Measures of success – 

In the first few months, you would have:

• Secured substantial new partnership income by crafting compelling proposals, with particular focus on sponsorships for our flagship annual appeal "Make Some Noise Day."

• Developed a solid understanding of Global’s Radio, Digital, and Outdoor platforms in order to leverage them effectively for charity partnership campaigns.

• Provided exceptional account management and smooth project implementation, ensuring partnership deliverables align with key objectives.

Responsibilities of the role

• Be responsible for securing a fixed amount of new business income annually. Identify and secure new high-value partners through proactive prospecting, engaging pitches, and effective relationship building. 

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders for seamless partnership delivery, including Campaigns, Talent, Finance, Legal, Commercial planning and more.

• Brainstorm creative branded content ideas and partnership solutions to meet both proactive and reactive briefs.

• Produce comprehensive post-campaign partnership reports to summarize activities to highlight key learnings and recommendations.

• Diligently manage partnership accounts, providing materials, resources, contracts and project plans as required.

• Provide support to Head of Brand Partnerships on all projects and practice adaptability according to external and internal priorities.

• Develop strong working relationships and exceed expectations with partners secure repeat business.

• Produce compelling case studies and pitch documents to support new business endeavours and potential award entries.

• Support with financial reporting, income tracking and forecasting.

We’re looking for a Senior Digital Engagement Manager to head up our Digital Team, taking the lead on driving forward the organisation’s digital marketing and communications. You’ll work with the Head of Marketing and Communications to develop and deliver the digital elements of the wider marketing and communications strategy, and line manage senior officers who lead the operations and development of our website, social media, email marketing and paid advertising activities.

The Role

Develop and deliver the media acquisition strategy, taking ownership of multiple campaigns across DRTV, Press, inserts and outdoor.

Deliver annual portfolio of acquisition campaigns, all the way from proposal and concept stage to evaluation, across a range of media. Budget managing campaigns ranging from £40-100k budgets.

Breathe innovation throughout your campiagns and proactively support the curlture of learning and development.

Monitor data requirements for acquisition campaigns ensuring that logistically campaigns run smoothly and are analysed continually to improve ROI and LTV.

The Candidate
1 years+ experience in one of the channels DRTV, Press, Inserts or outdoor.

Proven experience of DM campaign management ideally including developing new creative approaches, and sourcing, managing,negotiating and liaising with suppliers.

Experience of writing fundraising/direct marketing copy.

Experience of managing large expenditure budgets.

What the job involves

Funding research that will improve the lives of men with, or at high risk of, prostate cancer is one of Prostate Cancer UK’s highest priorities. Prostate cancer is harming too many men, in exchange for too few cures, which is why we are motivated more than ever to deliver a future where lives are no longer harmed by prostate cancer. We invest in the most innovative ideas to accelerate our knowledge and understanding of prostate cancer, and to develop better treatments and more effective approaches to diagnose the disease, so that we can transform the lives of all men with, or at risk of, prostate cancer.

We’re looking to appoint an enthusiastic and proactive Senior Research Impact Officer to join our Research Directorate. You’ll join an existing Senior Research Impact Officer to support the Senior Research Impact and Intelligence Manager to find, communicate and accelerate the impact of Prostate Cancer UK’s funded research. Taking responsibility for 50% of our ‘completed and in follow-up’ portfolio of research grants, you’ll act as their primary contact, assessing the likelihood of, and proximity to, impact.

You’ll use your scientific knowledge to understand the science behind these projects and communication skills to build strong working relationships with the researchers. With your research experience you’ll develop a detailed understanding of the outputs, outcomes and impact arising from the research we funded and support our research community to accelerate their pathway to impact.

What we want from you

Your role is important to the charity, as supporting research that can ultimately deliver a tangible impact to men affected by prostate cancer is a significant focus in our charity strategy.

You’ll need to be passionate about research making an impact and hold a bio-medical science degree (or a degree in a related subject), with research experience. You can understand complex scientific information presented in reports, publications or presentations and explain these complex concepts in a simple and engaging way to a range of audiences including peers within the charity as well as men and their families affected by the disease. You’ll be motivated to consistently perform to the highest standards, with an eagerness to trial new ideas, identify new opportunities and solve problems.

In any one day you could be helping develop an impact case study for the website, interviewing researchers for project updates, supporting delivery of a research event, or using social media to disseminate the work of our funded researchers. Your primary focus will be on the impact of our funded research, but you’ll also work closely with our research funding team, as well as with other teams across the charity.

The Press and Media Relations Officer represents the work of SCIE, acting as the point of contact for members of the press and other media representatives. About you

• Solid experience developing and implementing PR campaigns for corporate clients, including cause-related events, co-branded marketing activity, global campaigns

The Senior PR and Press Officer will raise the voice and impact of the CIPD in media and wider communications activities in pursuit of its core purpose of championing better work and working lives

What you’ll be doing

• Managing incoming media enquiries, ensuring journalists receive a prompt and efficient response and briefing spokespeople to help turn incoming enquiries into opportunities to proactively communicate key messages.
• Maximising media coverage to support the CIPD’s strategic priorities and our research, policy and campaign agenda. This will involve regularly translating policy matters and research findings into accessible news stories that will resonate with different stakeholder audiences.
• Being part of a wider team, which creates and delivers integrated marketing communications campaigns. You will have responsibility for managing the media element of certain campaigns.
• Building and maintaining relationships with trade media, national and broadcast journalists as part of our busy and respected press office. You will also work closely with the editorial team that manage our CIPD magazines: People Management and Work.
• Working with the PR Manager, Head of Marketing Communications, and wider team to protect and enhance the reputation of the CIPD.
• Supporting communications colleagues in our regional and international offices.
• Ensuring that the CIPD’s online media centre is an up-to-date resource for the media, CIPD members and other visitors to the website, and that press releases are distributed in a timely way.
• Proactively placing and writing articles for a variety of media and ensuring all articles from CIPD spokespeople are consistent with the CIPD’s key messages.
• Being part of the team that plan and run the on-site press offices for our annual conferences.
• Building strong working relationships with third party stakeholders, including commercial and strategic partners.

What you’ll need to be successful

• An excellent writer and communicator, able to create compelling copy for a range of audiences and channels.
• Extensive experience and knowledge in media relations.
• Strong awareness of media with good contacts in the national media.
• Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, juggling competing deadlines and shifting priorities at short notice.
• Ability to provide consultancy to the rest of the organisation, including the senior management team.
• A real team player, able to build relationships with teams across the business.
• Able to represent the organisation when working with media and other stakeholders.
• Has a good understanding of using social media channels to further our key messages and ensure that traditional and social media activities are aligned.

We would like you to:

• Manage our social media accounts day-to-day: monitoring and responding to engagement; producing and quality assuring excellent content for key moments; scheduling posts; and boosted content campaigns. 
• Maintain, produce and develop brand assets including merchandise designs, templates, guidance, visuals, photography and videography. 
• Act as a content business partner for your assigned programmes and areas: establish effective relationships and ways of working with stakeholders, taking ownership of content planning, production, promotion and maintenance. 
• Lead projects and carry out ad hoc tasks to drive the continual improvement of our brand, content, social media and team operations. 

Working in a hybrid way, you’ll be attached to either our Birmingham, London or Manchester office and will report to the Brand and Content Associate Director.  In line with our current ways of working, you’ll be expected to be in the office at least 1 day a month, in addition to team days and this may be reviewed by Ambition. 

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

To succeed in this role you'll be a strong copywriter with the ability to adapt and adhere to the Ambition tone of voice and style guide. It is essential that you have experience in creating content in a range of formats and for a range of channels. Whilst it would be desirable for you to have design skills with experience of using InDesign, Illustrator or Photoshop, this is not essential for the role.

This role will provide high quality financial information and analysis to senior managers and external stakeholders supporting decision-making. This is a highly commercial role, which is key in ensuring service quality is maximised, and financial performance targets are achieved. The Senior Finance Manager will lead a team of 4 and will suit someone happy to work fully remotely whilst developing excellent relationships across a large, multi-location organisation.

Main Duties:

• Budgeting and Cost Control - Lead divisional budget setting and forecasting process
• Coordinate monthly key variance summary in financial performance and KPIs for senior management
• Interpret and present complex financial information to non-finance managers, supporting decision-making and improvements to budget and forecast performance

Main Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Development:

• Providing strong and visible strategic leadership for the Trust as a whole, both internally and externally
• Directing, inspiring and motivating staff and volunteers
• Supporting and working with the Senior Management Team on the development and implementation of the Trust’s long-term strategy, through development and delivery of annual business plans and associated budgets and KPIs

Organisational and Operational Management to include:

• Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with the Chairman, Honorary Officers and Trustees to ensure lawful and effective governance
• Lead the Trust’s Senior Management Team including holding monthly one to one meeting and annual appraisals
• Oversee financial management systems, ensuring the timely preparation and effective achievement of annual budgets
• Co-develop and deliver an annual Business Plan which aligns with the 2030 Strategy
• Oversee compliance with all statutory requirements (including Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities, Employment Law, GDPR, etc.)
