Age UK are recruiting for a Senior Influencing Project Manager on a fixed term 12 month contract.
We will be developing a number of research, policy and practice development projects in support of our new strategy. These include the 'extremely vulnerable people' project and a new partnership researching older people's experiences pre and post an urgent episode of care or emergency hospital admission.
This exciting opportunity will also take on responsibility for managing our response to the Pandemic Inquiry and relationship with the Health and Wellbeing Alliance. This is initially a 12-month role, with the possibility of extending to 24 months depending on project funding.
The successful Senior Strategic Influencing Manager will take the lead in designing and delivering these complex projects, including management of external partners, consultants or agencies and internal teams as required. The role will work closely with the Policy Lead, Clinical Lead and Head of Health Influencing to coordinate and drive delivery of the organisation's goals and strategic priorities across health and care.
This hybrid role, known as a Senior Strategic Project Manager within the charity, offers flexible working between home and a central London co-working hub. Occasional travel may also be required to attend meetings, workshops etc.

Must haves:

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive supporter engagement strategy to bolster our supporter base and enhance engagement levels.
- Curate a tailored stewardship journey for major donors and legacy pledges, providing personalised communications and resources to foster continued support.
- Oversee the management of our supporter database/CRM, ensuring compliance with GDPR and all relevant legislation.
- Utilise data analytics to design targeted campaigns and initiatives aimed at expanding our supporter network across various channels and touchpoints.
- Lead church engagement efforts, forging and nurturing connections with local and national churches and networks.
- Collaborate with our Activities and Community Engagement (ACE) Facilitators to enhance engagement within our care homes and housing schemes.
- Drive regular prayer communications, fostering a culture of prayer support through various platforms including our online Prayer Wall.
- Organise and lead supporter-facing events such as exhibitions and conferences to facilitate meaningful interactions with existing and prospective supporters.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and share insights with internal teams to inform strategic decision-making.
About You
- Minimum of three years of experience in the charity or third sector.
- Proven track record in supporter engagement and database management.
- Good understanding of UK GDPR regulations.

Main areas of responsibility
This is a key senior role within the Fundraising Directorate, collaborating closely with the Senior Corporate Manager – New Business the Fundraising Leadership Team to grow income and awareness from corporate sources.
The key focus of the role will be:
- Successfully lead the Corporate Partnerships account team to develop and deliver on our ambitious growth strategy across existing partnerships.
- Working collaboratively with the Senior Corporate Manager – New Business to deliver a seamless strategy, focussing on the transition of partners through business planning and maximising lifetime value.
- Being accountable for excellent stewardship and account growth plans specifically deepening of engagement to maximise ROI and longer term strategic partnerships.
- Using data, insight and innovation techniques to implement diversify income streams from existing partners.
- An active member of the Fundraising Leadership Team, managing key cross organisational projects on behalf of the whole fundraising directorate.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team to maximise immediate potential with existing partners and generate a more diverse portfolio of strategic and sustained income over time.
- Maintain oversight of our partnerships portfolio and pipeline and work with the Senior Corporate Manager – New Business to ensure a cohesive and collaborative transition of new partners into account management.
- Manage forecasting and expenditure for the Corporate Partnerships team providing updates, mitigation plans and horizon scanning for income opportunities. .
- Lead the team to develop and deliver cultivation and stewardship programmes for partners with clear growth targets
- Lead Corporate Fundraising representation across the organisation, to deliver projects and build new opportunities to help the FareShare deliver on its strategy.
- Establish effective and impactful relationships with current partners to ensure appropriate relationships are in place and effectively managed at all levels.
- Oversee account allocation across the team to maximise account growth and optimise return on investment.
- In collaboration with FareShare’s Operations Team ensure accurate monitoring and project progress on restricted funding.

We are looking for a Senior Strategic Evidence & Engagement Manager to join our team. We need you to accelerate our impact by driving the translation of early diagnosis, treatment and innovation evidence into policy and practice, through planning, delivery and oversight of a comprehensive, proactive content and comms plan across a range of health professional and health system audiences and channels.
What will I be doing?
Driving the development of our early diagnosis, treatment and innovation content and resources for a range of health professional and health system audiences, making the most of what we know and have and ensuring key messages are reaching our audiences and having an impact
Developing and overseeing the delivery of an internal and external content plan, profiling Cancer Research UK's thought leadership across different areas of the cancer pathway and facilitating the translation of evidence into policy and practice
Building strong relationships with key content, audience and communications teams in both the development and delivery of the plan
Maintaining oversight of resource development, such as those aimed at health professionals, and ensuring a strategically-relevant and impactful portfolio of content and resources
Liaising with evidence and health system engagement teams to identify and drive opportunities to support health systems audiences across the cancer pathway, bringing creativity, insight and positivity to the task
Leading on the review and design transformation of our existing health professional webpages
Managing communications on behalf of the Strategic Evidence team to key audiences, both internally and externally
Contributing to content sign-off with a focus on impact, accessibility, tone of voice and design
Developing and managing direct reports, including setting clear development objectives and appraising performance.

You will work within the Fundraising Operations team (FrOps) providing quality CRM data related support and advice to Fundraising CRM users in line with team service levels and performance targets. In this role, you will identify, implement and write up process improvements; develop & deliver complex data campaign mailing selections & analytics to Fundraising CRM system users for direct marketing purposes; provide support and cover for data import processes and deliver training and procedure guides. You will also maintain and develop our CRM data systems, ensuring our data accuracy & integrity meets all Fundraising compliance standards.

The role
You’ll bring energy and enthusiasm to the team, ensuring financial functions are carried out efficiently, effectively, accurately and in a timely way to enable us to focus on achieving our charitable mission.
The focus of the role will be on managing and improving financial processes, ensuring that the Senior Leadership Team have up-to-date and accurate records for reporting to the Board, supporting the programmes and philanthropy teams with accurate fund reports and preparing the accounts for audit each year. You will work closely with the whole team of staff and volunteers, but you will work most closely with the Operations Director and the Finance Manager.
You’ll be provided with training on our CRM and IT systems. The successful applicant will always be expected to observe our values and policies and to actively engage with continuous professional development.
Key Areas of Responsibility
1. Treasury and Investment Management
· Monitor endowment investments and provide calculations and support in relation to total return
· Prepare quarterly investment management report
· Treasury management to maximise our investment returns
2. Bookkeeping and Management Accounts
· Work with the Finance Manager to ensure donations are properly recorded on our CRM and in Sage
· Work with the Finance Manager to reconcile bank accounts monthly
· Preparing monthly management reports, noting significant variances with forecasts
· Monitor outstanding debtors, and with line manager approval, chase overdue debtors
· Prepare fund balances when required by the programmes team to support grant-making
· Presentation of management accounts to board and engagement with board members as required
3. Annual Accounts
· Prepare statutory accounts, working with the Operations Director and CEO to ensure income and costs are allocated accurately across SORP categories
· Participate in the Audit process, engaging with auditors and prepare information for audit and liaise with auditors in the conduct of the annual audit process
· Prepare annual fundholder statements
· Support the Senior Leadership Team in the preparation of the annual budget and cash flow forecast
4. Other Work Required
· Support the Finance Manager and provide cross cover when required
· Attend SCF events as requested, including very occasionally, evenings

Person Specification - Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Required
· Ideally at least five years’ experience in a similar role
· Minimum of AAT Level 4, preferably ACA/ACCA or equivalent
· Experience of accounting software, especially Sage Line 50
· Experience of working with databases and Microsoft Office, including Office 365
· Knowledge of charity finance
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
· Able to work under own initiative but also able to request support when necessary
· Confident managing a busy and varied workload and able to prioritise effectively
· Good problem-solving competencies
