The Opportunity
We are seeking a Programme Officer to join our Work Experience Team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, enthusiastic and confident individual to join us in a role which has responsibility for ensuring suitable and safe work experience placements are sourced, managed and available for students. Our Work Experience programme provides a taster of the ‘World of Work’ helping to raise career aspirations and support academic progression. Our team work with local and central London employers and education providers and provide placements for over 5,000 young people each academic year.
Key Responsibilities of the role include:
- To secure, update and manage work experience placements.
- To handle telephone enquiries about the work experience programme, communicating with teachers, employers, parents and schools.
- To be a key point of contact for schools/educational establishments managing and overseeing the work experience process.
- To produce information and provide support to the Head of Work Experience and other team members.
- Completing one-to-one interviews with students with additional needs to ensure suitable placements are secured.
- Managing placements using a bespoke IT system.

We are recruiting for an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join our Finance Team in the role of Finance Assistant.
The Finance Assistant supports all aspects of the Hallé’s work at the Bridgewater Hall, the Hallé Venues and concert halls across the UK.
The Finance Assistant works in a department currently comprising Finance Director, Finance Manager, Assistant Finance Manager and Finance Assistant.
The department is responsible for all aspects of the financial affairs of the Society and its related trusts. The Finance Assistant is responsible to the Assistant Finance Manager.
They take responsibility for processing the day-to-day transactions of the company across purchase ledger, sales ledger and the cash book, and ensure the smooth operation of the office. They will also need to work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider Hallé as well as with external customers and suppliers.
The post is full-time permanent based on a 36.25-hour week. Our core office hours are 09.00-17:15, from Monday to Friday. There is an option to work up to 50% of hours from home.

Workingfor a professional body based in Farringdon, London. This opportunity is officebased 4 days a week. The office is closed on Fridays, so the successfulcandidate can work from home 1 day a week.
Your new role
- Reporting to the Finance Manager.
- Supporting with the preparation of management accounts.
- Bank reconciliations.
- Month-end journals.
- To support monthly close-down and the production of month-end reports.
- Post sales day books into nominal ledger.
- Support purchase ledger and credit control functions.
- To maintain and reconcile cash books to the nominal ledger.
- May be required to deputise for the Finance Manager.
What you'll need to succeed
- Strong double entry and reconciliation experience.
- You will be an experienced Accounts Assistant.
- Strong purchase and sales ledger experience is required.
- Ideally part-qualified.
- Strong systems' usage.
- Great communication skills - both written and verbal.
