We are looking for 1 full time and 1 Part Time (0.5) Community Engagement Practitioners.

This is an innovative new service, integrating the expertise, skills and knowledge of the VCS network in Barnet with NHS Mental Health services. The purpose of the role is to provide psycho-social support to clients, working within specialist Mental Health teams and the partners of the Wellbeing Together CIC.

The role will carry an active caseload supporting access into services appropriate to their level of need, with a focus on recovery and independence, and improve self-management of their wellbeing through intensive support. CEPs will support the core community mental health teams working in alignment with Primary Care Networks as part of the new model.

The CEP team will focus on empowering clients to achieve socio-economic goals with clear mental health and wellbeing benefits, and team members will also have specific training in areas such as employment and housing to support the wider PSS service team. The post holder will help to facilitate and co-deliver recovery focused groups and contribute to the development of new community resources.

Gaddum is looking for a qualified PWP to join our well-established Talking Therapies team operating in Manchester and expand our offer for clients. You will work alongside a team of dedicated counsellors within a stepped care model to provide initial assessments and a range of NICE approved low intensity interventions for common mental health problems, including one-to-one work and the potential for groupwork.

You will be skilled in delivering low intensity therapy, with the ability to organise and prioritise your own workload, and will have successfully completed an approved IAPT PWP Post Graduate Certificate (or be near to qualification with all elements of the course successfully passed/on track to qualify on time). 

Gaddum offers a supportive environment to a nearly or newly qualified PWP, enabling you to develop in the role, alongside a small, diverse and compassionate team.

About the role

Fareham and Gosport Wellbeing service is looking to recruit a PCN Wellbeing Advisor, to be based in PCN surgeries in the Fareham and Gosport Localities.

In this role you will hold a caseload of patients offering assessments & 1-1 sessions to help manage mental health Wellbeing. You will attend meetings to enable patients to get the best service for them and will support people to access groups and activities within our wellbeing centre and the community. You will use your skills and experience to work directly with people with mental health issues one-to-one settings, include telephone, face-to-face and online engagement; this may on occasion include group facilitation.

30 hours per week (to include some evenings and weekends).

About you

You will need to have a good understanding of a mental health issue, as well as experience of working with people with mental health needs, excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of the key difficulties and challenges faced by people on their recovery journey. You will need good IT skills and be able to navigate different IT systems.

Job Summary

To take the lead in ensuring that appropriate arrangements for keeping children, young people and adults at risk of harm safe are actioned at MHI as part of a Designated Safeguarding team covering the Shout platform 24/7. The role is responsible for promoting the safety and welfare of children and young people on our platform, being a consistent and reliable presence on the Shout platform, and advising Shout Supervisors on safeguarding actions and practise while raising and recording safeguarding issues as they arise. 

Key Responsibilities

• To act as an MHI Designated Safeguarding Officer.
• Contribute to developing and reviewing MHI’s safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
• Alongside the DSO, contribute to ensuring that everyone working or volunteering with or for children and young people at MHI, including the board of trustees, understands the safeguarding and child protection policy and procedures and knows what to do if they have concerns about a child’s welfare
• Take a lead role in implementing MHI’s safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures: ensuring all safeguarding and child protection issues concerning children and young people who take part in MHI’s activities are responded to appropriately
• Take the lead on responding to information that may constitute a child protection concern, including a concern that an adult involved with MHI may present a risk to children or young people. This includes:
  • assessing and clarifying the information
  • calling in and recording all safeguarding issues as they arise.
  • supporting and responding to staff who raise internal concerns as well as supporting those who make external safeguarding referrals to police or Adult / Children's Services
  • making referrals to statutory organisations as appropriate
  • consulting with and informing the relevant members of the organisation’s management

• following the organisation’s safeguarding policy and procedures
• Immediately referring cases to the Safeguarding Panel where there is a radicalisation concern

• Be familiar with and work within inter-agency child protection procedures developed by child protection agencies working in partnership with MHI.
• Be familiar with issues relating to child protection and abuse, and keep up to date with new developments in this area.
• Attend regular training in issues relevant to child protection and share knowledge from that training with everyone who works or volunteers with or for children and young people at MHI.
• Attend team meetings, supervision sessions and management meetings as arranged.
• Hold safeguarding workshops and drop-in consultations for the ongoing training and support of MHI clinical and volunteer support staff.
• Work flexibly as may be required and carry out any other reasonable duties.
• Child protection leads must have received relevant safeguarding and child protection training that MHI require and that is specific to their role. The successful candidate will work with the Head of the Gambling Action Lab (GAL) and the Senior Research Officer to bring together a handful of representatives from financial services firms to explore ways to reduce gambling-related financial harms. They will build and maintain stakeholder relationships and play a key role in facilitating group discussions with financial services representatives. This exciting role will also involve driving and promoting the work and visibility of the GAL, and planning and delivering a programme of events to promote our work.

This role can be offered as London-based or remote (with twice-monthly travel to the London office) and either full-time (37.5 hours over 5 days) or part-time (minimum 30 hours over 4 days a week).

What You'll Do:

- Collaboration and Efficiency: Work hand-in-hand with existing Mental Health Provision for young people and their families, as well as other local agencies/organisations to effectively support young people transitioning from services.

- Innovation and Development: Channel your passion delivering and promoting Young Persons peer support groups. Work closely with primary care, schools and colleges to promote mental health support available via S&G Mind
