The opportunity
We are seeking an experienced fundraising Manager, with the drive and determination to manage all aspects of our fundraising function. STADA has multiple fundraising streams. You will be responsible for oversight and growth of voluntary and statutory funding income, trusts and foundations, corporates, the statutory sector (including government bodies) Starting from a strong foundation with multiple opportunities for growth, you will lead on the delivery of our ambitious, multi-year, multi-disciplinary fundraising strategy with an annual fundraising plan agreed with our Executive Leadership Team. This is an exciting opportunity to build and lead fundraising activities. The fundraising Manager will be responsible for creating and implementing an innovative fundraising strategy (in consultation with the Senior Leadership Team) which aligns with our organisational goals and values. Previous experience essential
and proven experience is required.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Corporate Fundraising Manager to work closely with the Head of Programme Funding to drive new donor engagement and secure sustainable, multi-year funding. Development of Social Impact Programmes

Participate in the development of thematic programmes that fulfil farmers’ needs while aligning with Better Cotton’s 2030 strategic goals:

• Manage a coalition building phase of social impact donors and allies. This includes outreach to relevant stakeholders identified, pitching to prospective donors, creating fundraising materials.

Fundraising efforts

• Manage relationships with donors/investors to increase success rate of applications and ensure continuous funding.

Role Purpose

The purpose of the Fundraiser role is primarily to raise funds from UK trusts, foundations and statutory funders and to identify, generate, grow and maintain this vital income stream. Some engagement to support other strands of fundraising will be required.

The post-holder will work to the Chief Financial Officer and closely with the Chief Operating Officer and other managers of Cathedral teams. The Cathedral’s mission, ministry and musical tradition are core to its life as a Cathedral and a parish church serving the community. It also relies on the valuable financial contribution made by its income generating activities such as its shop, café, conference rooms, corporate events and concerts. Main Duties and Responsibilities

Research and Identification of Funders

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of our research projects and research funding plans, including in response to requests from Heads of Department and Senior Management Team;
• Research, identify and prioritise potential grants, personal & institutional trusts and statutory funders and funding opportunities, including keeping up to date with new fundraising opportunities in the faith and heritage sectors and in London;
• Undertake research on funders and grant making bodies to assess their potential for funding opportunities;
• Gather information and budgetary information from cathedral colleagues as required by potential funders;
• Develop and write high quality, compelling fundraising proposals and applications which communicate Southwark Cathedral’s funding needs clearly and concisely;
• Work with the Marketing & Communications Manager to develop a compelling case for support documents and other donor materials to attract support for our research projects;
• Develop and maintain a pipeline of applications to trusts & foundations.

Fundraising

• Secure funding from UK trusts, foundations and statutory funding bodies to meet Budgetary targets and support proposed future projects at the Cathedral;
• Support the implementation of a trusts and foundations programme, with a view to increasing funding for flagship projects alongside core unrestricted funding;
• Assist with the organisation of fundraising events as required;
• Ensure approaches to trusts and other donors are streamlined and targeted.

Contact and Liaison

• Manage the Cathedral’s donor records including gift aid declarations, personal information and legacy pledges and other non-financial information provided by donors - adhering to data protection best practice at all times;
• Liaise with the Marketing & Communications Manager to analyse the existing donor communications and suggest improved methods of engagement;
• Liaise with the Marketing & Communications Manager to arrange for the creation and maintenance of pages on the Cathedral website that highlight the fundraising activity and communicate successes achieved;
• Act as the primary point of contact for all existing and potential trust and grants funders, directing enquiries as appropriate;
• Develop a network of strong relationships with existing and prospective grant, trust and statutory funders;
• Organise meetings and events for prospective supporters and provide briefings for colleagues.

Information Management, Monitoring and Evaluation

• Maintain the Cathedral’s fundraising database, ensuring all records are updated and maintained correctly in accordance with the Cathedral’s data protection policy;
• Manage the reporting, recording and administration progress of existing grants, advising relevant members of the team well in advance of reporting deadlines;
• Work with others to develop and implement effective evaluation, monitoring and reporting processes for funders, and ensure reporting requirements are fulfilled and activities remain outcome and impact focused;
• Manage and maintain records and monitor progress of applications and relationships, including working to agreed KPIs;
• Prepare regular progress reports on fundraising and activities for SMT and the Chapter as required;
• Use the Cathedral’s fundraising database to analyse the success rates to support fundraising strategy and individual projects;
• Work with the Finance team to ensure that all funding is quickly and correctly processed and acknowledged and that financial reports are available in the appropriate format;
• Work with the Governance & Committees Manager and Finance Team to support reporting requirements and compliance with the relevant legislation and codes of conduct;
• Work with the COO and Marketing & Communications Manager to create appropriate evaluation and legacy documentation.

Other

• Manage the relevant administration that accompanies this role, including booking meetings and taking minutes as required;
• Play an active role as a member of the Cathedral team, supporting each other as required;
• Be an ambassador for the Cathedral and assist the Fundraising Advisory Panel in developing positive relationships with the Cathedral’s key stakeholders.

Person Specification

Knowledge/Experience

• You will have experience of writing fundraising bids and completing engaging applications;
• You will have knowledge and experience of heritage, community or religious grant-funding sources and how to access them;

Terms and Conditions

Working Hours

The working hours shall be 35 hours per week (exclusive of meal breaks). Some out of hours working will be required to support meetings and events and this will be notified in advance. Time off in lieu will be awarded in line with Southwark Cathedral’s policy.

Annual Leave

25 days per annum as well as statutory bank holidays, with an additional 5 days (pro-rata) after 10 years service. 

Probation

The appointment is subject to the satisfactory completion of a six-month probationary period.

Season Ticket Loan

Once the probationary period has been completed satisfactorily, the person appointed will be eligible to take out a season ticket loan.

Pension

The person appointed will be eligible to join a defined contributions pension scheme managed by the Church Workers Pension Fund. The Cathedral will contribute half of the annual premium of 10% of salary.

Working Expenses

Reasonable out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed.

We’re recruiting a Fundraising Resource Manager (High Value).  This is a new role to take the lead and manage the operations and resource required to make Blue Cross high-value fundraising thrive! 

More about the role

You will be joining our Philanthropy Team that's responsible for managing relationships with, and securing donations from, mid and major value individuals and trusts & foundations.  The team has recently transitioned to a new team structure with a new set of ambitions and plans, and more formalised support across the organisation, at all levels, to enable the team to deliver.

As part of these changes, a new role of Fundraising Resource Manager (High Value) has been created, to lead on the operation and resource requirements of high value at Blue Cross, including:

• leading on the development of fundraising opportunities and propositions, including the management of funding opportunity information and case for support resource 
• overseeing the delivery of high-quality prospect research and driving pipeline performance through delivery of prospecting plans and lead generation
• providing insight and performance information to help inform strategy, including the management of CRM, financial, and KPI reporting requirements

The Fundraising Development Manager role is a real opportunity to help Somerset Wildlife Trust develop a sustainable fundraising strategy and bring together the Fundraising and Supporter Development Team to retain and grow donations. Responsible for our 23,000 members, as well as appeals, adoptions, our online shop and member events, the Fundraising Development Manager will lead the team to bring in a significant proportion of unrestricted income, as well as managing the relationships with some of our most passionate supporters.

We are looking for an insightful fundraising manager who can help us maintain our existing fundraising channels as well as developing our corporate membership strategy and investigating new sources of giving and opportunities we have yet to take advantage of – essential if we are to achieve our ambitious strategy. You’ll be working with the entire wider fundraising team to help develop leads and pipelines to support the wider fundraising efforts, as well as having the opportunity to diversify our fundraising actions.

Meet Fundraising Strategic Targets

Supervise and line manage the Fundraising and Supporter Care Team by building integrated programmes of supporter development activities that retain and grow donations and fundraising from existing supporters and deliver growth in income by recruiting new financial supporters to achieve financial targets.

Responsibility 1: Leading Public Fundraising Activity

Manage fundraising activity through:

• Leading the fundraising team to build integrated programmes of activities that increase donors and deliver growth in income.
• Growing annual membership numbers by managing and maintaining current recruitment channels. Oversee relationships and engagement with our membership including complaint management.
• Managing the relationship with the Trust’s face to face membership recruitment company, SWWFL, to deliver best efficiency and returns on investment.
• Planning and implementing integrated appeals and other ways for members and the public to give which deliver strong results to support the Trust’s fundraising priorities and targets.
• Working as fundraising leadership team with the Philanthropy and Trusts & Grants Managers, supporting the Head of Fundraising on strategic projects.
• Developing and testing activities based on insights and analysis to ensure the best return on investment across all segments of the supporter base, to support fundraising colleagues.
• Managing existing corporate relationships to maintain and improve corporate fundraising levels, supporting account management of corporate partners.
• Establishing a data collection strategy in line with current data protection rules and which creates a pool of warm leads to convert into donors.
• Ensuring our new supporter database (Raiser’s Edge) is fully developed within the Trust and developed to maximise our integration with existing systems. Supporting teams across the organisation to use RE to increase knowledge of existing relationships and creating opportunities for fundraising and engagement.
• Managing the workload, performance and personal development of the supporter development team to drive more support and income for Somerset Wildlife Trust.
• Being accountable for setting the Supporter Development budget and reporting on performance against targets, to help inform planning and product development.
• Championing the use of best practice marketing techniques, including data collection and GDPR, throughout the Trust, with a particular commitment to delivering high standards of supporter care and fundraising practice.

Responsibility 2: Developing sustainable income streams

Be proactive and nurture strong relationships by:

• Identifying, developing and testing new individual giving fundraising activities based on insights and analysis, to ensure sustainable fundraising income across a variety of sources that target all segments of the supporter base.
• Identifying and testing membership recruitment diversification channels and growing annual membership income via techniques including upgrades.
• Designing and implementing a fundraising strategy for corporates, including identifying targets, developing relationships, and significantly increasing income from this fundraising channel. Work with other corporate functions across the Trust to ensure a combined corporate offering that benefits everyone.

Responsibility 3: Developing Fundraising pipelines

Provide management and accountability by:

• Working collaboratively with colleagues to contribute ideas and knowledge to deliver integrated engagement and fundraising campaigns and the growth of other income streams, including gifts of £1k+, gifts in wills, Community Fundraising and Grant Fundraising.
• Creating user journeys and stewardship for our supporters to help retention and increase giving propensities.
• Developing a warm lead generation and development program to increase the number of potential donors within our database, supporting all areas of individual giving including Community Fundraising, Legacies, Major Donors and Patrons.
• Working with the Database Officer, Philanthropy Manager and Community Fundraising Manager to identify segments within the database that could be developed into Major Donors or to support other fundraising income streams.
• Investigating and developing an event strategy to help support specific demographic groups including Corporates, members and other key supporters, including the annual AGM and members day.

The Individual Giving Fundraiser will play a vital role in increasing income from our existing supporters. You will support donor acquisition as well as taking the lead on retention of our supporters across multiple channels including cash appeals, regular giving, lottery and in celebration giving.
