We are in the early stages of implementing our 10-year organisational strategy, ARUK: Towards a Cure. Sitting within the Chief Executive’s Office and reporting to the Project and Programme Manager, the Project Officer supports the scoping, planning, and delivery of strategic, cross-team projects and programmes. The post holder also supports the Project and Programme Manager in embedding project management best practice across the wider organisation.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
Project Management
· Deliver key, strategic projects, as determined by the yearly Operational Planning process, working with project teams to develop flexible project plans that can adapt to change.
· Manage project risks, decisions, and dependencies, liaise with third parties, and monitor project progress, ensuring stakeholders are updated at key checkpoints.
· Lead project reviews to capture successes and learnings and ensure project outcomes are embedded into BAU.
· Support the Project and Programme Manager and Head of Programme Management on other ongoing projects and programmes as and when required.
Promotion of project management best practice
· Maintain ownership of the Projects team intranet pages and project management resources, for use by colleagues across the organisation.
· Provide tailored project management consultations to empower colleagues to deliver their own in-team projects.
· Support the Project and Programme Manager on delivering the ARUK Project Management Masterclass.
What we are looking for:
· Experience managing projects, including allocating tasks and managing risks, decisions, and changes.
· Sound knowledge of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile).
· Demonstrable ability to work with and influence a variety of different internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
· Working knowledge of project management tools, such as Excel, Smartsheet, MS Projects or similar.
· Excellent communication skills, with an ability to build relationships, trust, and inspire confidence and respect at all levels.
· Strong team player who can work both independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders of all levels.
· Excellent planning and organisational skills, and the ability to manage a varied workload and reprioritise work in accordance with the organisation’s needs.

Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

This role is the first point of contact for journalists getting in touch with the Trussell Trust. The role is accountable for handling media enquiries; checking and responding to the press inbox; media monitoring and securing press coverage. The Press Officer will assist with media work through print, online and broadcast news to help build understanding, awareness and consideration of the organisation’s mission and goal. The Press Officer will support and advise colleagues, food banks in the network and external stakeholders to ensure they receive media coverage of strategically important projects.
Role responsibilities
· Handle incoming enquiries and provide accurate, timely and appropriate responses, briefing journalists in line with the Trussell Trust’s key messages and priorities.
· Build relationships across the organisation, within the food bank network, with external stakeholders such as corporate partners, and with journalists to assist with securing coverage across national, regional and local media to reach new audiences and build cause awareness
· Horizon scan for media opportunities and develop innovative integrated communication plans, overseeing advice, statements, timelines, and key messaging to engage specific audience segments.
· Arrange spokespeople for interviews and support with organising and managing press visits to food banks, as well as photo calls, to support the organisation’s communications priorities and campaigns
· Circulate regular coverage updates across the organisation and help maintain and develop media databases, key performance indicator reports and other admin systems and processes to ensure continuous improvement
· Act as the media lead on proactive projects that help build understanding and awareness of both Trussell Trust and the food bank network’s strategic objectives.

The Role
You will be instrumental in securing the funding, which the organisation needs to continue to deliver and develop its services, across a wide range of functions and projects. You will be an entrepreneurial, knowledgeable fundraiser, adept at finding the right opportunities to fit the right projects. You will have experience in a fundraising, philanthropy or relationship management role and a track record of success in securing at least five-figure donations from grant and trust funders.

Shannon Trust are delighted to be working with His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) to provide peer-led learning programmes in the Kent area. We are looking for 1 full time (or 2 part time) facilitators to be based at either HMP Rochester (21 hours per week) or HMP Standford Hill (14 hours per week). Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will lead the delivery and development of our prison based reading and numeracy programme, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.
Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach.
This role will be prison-based. About IKWRO
IKWRO –Women’s Rights Organisation (IKWRO) is an award-winning charity founded (as the Iranian and Kurdish Women’s Rights Organisation) in 2002. IKWRO is a registered charity which provides advice and support to Middle Eastern, North African and Afghan women and girls living in the UK, who have experienced, or are at risk of all forms of “honour” based abuse, including; forced marriage, child marriage and female genital mutilation (FGM), or domestic abuse.
We work with women and girls of all ages, including lesbian women, bisexual women and trans women. We offer services in Kurdish, Farsi, Arabic, Dari, Pashto, Turkish and English. IKWRO offers free advice, advocacy and counselling services and operates a refuge which provides safe accommodation and specialist support to single women at risk of “honour” based abuse, forced marriage and domestic abuse.
IKWRO also provides training for women and girls to help them understand their rights in the UK. In partnership with other organisations, we assist survivors of abuse with accessing English language classes and education, training and employment opportunities.
As well as supporting women and girls directly, we offer advice and training for professionals from the statutory and voluntary sectors, to better understand the needs of the women and girls we represent, the types of abuse they experience and to provide best practice prevention and support services.
We campaign to increase awareness and improve laws and policies to tackle all forms of “honour” based abuse and harmful practices including; forced marriage, child marriage, marital captivity, female genital mutilation, virginity testing and hymenoplasty, discrimination by sharia courts and to push for better laws and policies to protect women’s and girl’s rights.

THE ROLE
The Rainforest Project Officer role is based in South West England and funded by the Species Survival Fund which National Lottery Heritage Fund are delivering on behalf of Defra. The role will include providing advice and support for landowners on the creation and management of temperate rainforests; overseeing rainforest restoration on the Woodland Trust estate; and working with the regional communications and engagement team to deliver a wide range of rainforest themed communications and engagement activities to showcase and raise awareness about the importance of the Temperate Rainforest and the work of the Woodland Trust.
The Rainforest Project Officer will oversee, and help deliver, a diverse programme of work for the project, as well as line managing two early-career trainees to increase their knowledge and develop the skills needed to inspire a wide range of audiences to engage with this precious habitat.
This is an 18 month fixed term position.
THE CANDIDATE
You’ll have experience in successfully delivering projects and programmes on time and to budget. You will use your excellent communication skills to represent the Woodland Trust and the project, in a professional, competent, and positive manner as well as having the confidence to present in front of large audiences.
You will have experience of building meaningful working relationships with a range of key stakeholders, effectively engaging with them so they are involved and inspired by our work and ensuring the impact of the project is maximised. You’ll have a collaborative approach with experience of working with multiple teams and organisations for a shared purpose.
You will have the ability to take on a leadership role, supporting the training and upskilling of team members and volunteers. You’ll be self-motivated and flexible having the ability to manage and organise a diverse workload.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Grant Fundraising
- Preparing, maintaining and delivering an annual plan for all grant applications
- Writing compelling proposals and reports to grant-making trusts and organisations
- Identifying and developing relationships with selected key funders
- Researching new potential funders
- Liaising with our SAT-7 International Development Team to identify projects which require funding and source material for proposals and reports
Grant Funding Hub
- Supporting internal teams with appropriate funding proposals and connected reports
- Supporting development of cross-organisational impact reports as required
Statutory and Development Funding
- Monitor statutory funding opportunities and, working with your line manager, support the development of applications, proposals and reports.
