Due to continued success and further growth, we are creating a new role within our Business Development Team for a Head of Business Development and Philanthropy.  This role will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Business Development Team, and work with the Chief Executive and Business Development Sub-Committee and the wider board to help to establish strategic direction.  Demonstrable experience and a proven track record in raising funds and securing donations from private sector supporters are essential for this role.

As the Institute’s Fundraising Manager you will play a pivotal role in securing the financial resources necessary to support the Institute’s strategic initiatives and operations, as well as maintaining the relationships and communities that drive long term funding. Working closely with the Institute’s Executive Leadership and board, you will be responsible for executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy from mixed funding sources – government, philanthropic and corporate - engaging with funders, and building lasting relationships with stakeholders to maximise funding opportunities.

Alongside being active in direct engagement with funders, you will lead on the underlying processes and systems that drive successful fundraising, creating and maintaining rigorous process management, record-keeping and CRM use, funder research and meeting preparation, and supporting the senior team in creating relationships that last. You will work to make the best of the Institute’s varied and committed networks and ensure that the communities around the Institute are engaged in our work, and excited to contribute. 

Harnessing the Institute’s powerful networks across mainstream financial services impact investing, social investment, philanthropy and government you will be a key figure in securing the resourcing that underpins a dynamic new chapter of the Institute’s five-year strategy.

Key responsibilities & skills development opportunities: 

Fundraising Strategy and Implementation 

• Implement a robust fundraising strategy aligned with the Institute's mission and goals.

• Create and manage annual fundraising plans with clear targets and KPIs. 

• Identify and outreach to potential funding sources, including foundations, corporations and government. 

• Enable and support senior leadership, board and wider team to engage with potential funders, setting them up for success. 

Donor Engagement and Relationship Management 

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing donors, ensuring they are engaged and informed about the impact of their contributions. 

• Identify and approach new potential donors, providing compelling cases for support. 

• Working closely with our events capability organise and manage donor events, meetings, and communications. 

Proposal Development and Grant Management 

• Lead the development of high-quality proposals and grant applications working closely with leadership and programme colleagues.

• Monitor and report on the progress of fundraising, providing regular updates to senior management and the board. 

• Monitor and report on the progress of grants, working with project managers and leadership to ensure grant deliverables are achieved on time 

Collaboration and Team Leadership 

• Work closely with the Executive Director, and team members across the organisation to align fundraising efforts with strategic and programmatic priorities. 

• Coordinate with the communications and events team to develop engaging materials and events to support fundraising efforts. 

• Be supportive of creating a collaborative and inclusive working environment, supporting key Institute-wide commitments on DEI. 

Data Management and Reporting 

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of fundraising activities, donor interactions, and financial contributions. 

• Prepare detailed reports on fundraising performance, donor engagement, and financial targets. 

• Maintain CRM systems to be up to date, and utilize systems to manage donor information and track fundraising metrics. 

• Ensure that the Institute complies with laws, regulations and best practice relating to fundraising including, but not limited to, those specified by the Fundraising Regulator in its Code of Conduct and GDPR. 

Essential Qualifications and Experience: 

• Proven experience in fundraising preferably within the non-profit sector. 

• Interest and enthusiasm for the impact investing sector. 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive proposals and presentations. 

• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. 

• Proficiency in using CRM systems. 

Desirable Skills and Attributes: 

• Experience in securing large multi-year grants. 

• Demonstrated success in securing significant funding from diverse sources. 

• Strong understanding of the impact investing landscape and its funding dynamics.

Sightsavers is looking for a Head of Institutional Funding - a vital role within our expanding institutional funding team to lead the development and implementation of a portfolio of work currently focused on West Africa and lead on the development of strategic partnerships with individual institutional donors

Salary: £58,000 - £65,000

Location: UK remote - with very occasional travel to Haywards Heath, when required

We are looking for an experienced institutional funding expert to lead and manage a busy portfolio. This is a role in which the successful candidate will need to juggle multiple and complex projects. Key duties will include:

• Leading the development and implementation of a portfolio of work within the institutional funding team (IFT) currently focused on West Africa (17 Anglophone, Francophone and Lusophone countries), and lead on the development of strategic partnerships with individual institutional donors as prioritised.
• Providing direct line management and strategic support to a sub-team within IFT, that will support continued income growth and contract management, in line with the Institutional Funding strategy.
• Managing existing grant / contracts falling within the remit of this role and secure new income to the organisation.
• Supporting programme learning and capacity building of country office teams and partners and to deputise for the Director of Institutional Funding

This role is involved and multi-faceted with regular meetings across the organisation. This is a full-time role that may be worked from home for the majority of the time however some visits to our offices in Haywards Heath, West Sussex (RH16 3BW) will be required. On average this is likely to be twice per year. If you prefer to work from or are visiting our collaborative, modern office space, you will find it an easy 20-minute train journey from Brighton or 45 minutes from London. Programme travel to West Africa and other locations will also be necessary - we anticipate approximately three trips per year, usually of one week each.

The Finance Manager will be providing bespoke financial management capacity-building support, ensuring compliance with statutory/funder requirements, and supporting operational/strategic management and planning resources. The role holder is also expected to support HQ Finance function.

B. Provide bespoke financial management capacity-building support to Black and racialized organisations in 8 London boroughs, including supporting groups to:

2. Provide training, and guidance to groups supported on ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory and funder requirements governing the sector, employer responsibilities training, and governance.

Westway Trust is seeking a highly experienced and professional Senior HR Manager to join our vibrant, friendly team of three on a 2-year fixed-term contract to deliver a strong, credible, and reliable service across all aspects of our HR function in support of the range of activities undertaken by the organisation. The post will particularly suit someone with a significant charity HR background who is looking to gain the further experience necessary to equip them for making the step up to Head of HR roles.  Attention to detail, adherence to deadlines and a proactive flexible approach to the work are all pre-requisites for the role.

Key responsibilities of the role include but not limited to:

• Provide high quality support to the Head of Governance and HR on aspects of the Trust’s HR function and on the provision of accurate, timely and relevant updates and reports as required by the Executive Team.
• Ensure effective up-to-date HR policies and relevant other policies that meet the needs of the Trust and its staff are in place, reviewing them on an agreed schedule in line with the Trust’s Policy Matrix and updating as required. Identify any gaps in the suite of HR policies and develop new policies to fill that gap. Overall maintenance of the Policy Matrix.
• Lead on the Trust’s EDI policy, ensuring that the policy is implemented in a practical way throughout the organisation and in all our activities. Ensure the HR-related recommendations of the Tutu Foundation review into institutional racism at the Trust are progressed to a conclusion.
• Support the Head of Governance and HR in delivering the actions that support preparations for the next Investors in People (IiP) external assessment in late 2024. Ensure the Trust’s HR policies and practices remain consistent with the IiP standard.
• Work proactively with the HR Business Partner on the running of staff recruitment and selection processes, including sitting as the HR representative on the interview panel for more senior roles.

Essential Experience, Skills and Attributes

• Substantial experience of working in HR operations and of developing and reviewing appropriate HR policies and procedures in a charity or similar setting.
• Sound understanding of employment law and a willingness to keep up-to-date with relevant legislative changes.
• A passion for EDI and an ability to be creative and engaging in communications around this subject.
• Strong organisational skills and an understanding of the importance of discretion and confidentiality.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including evidence of ability to adapt to a variety of cultural settings.
• A team player, with excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to earn quickly the trust and confidence of staff and other stakeholders.

Desirable Experience, Skills and Attributes:

• A good knowledge/understanding of the local area and community or demonstrable willingness to learn quickly.
• Experience of change management.
• Competency in use of Access Select HR and MS Office software packages.

We are looking for a Corporate Partnerships Manager to join the National Theatre Development Team.

The purpose of the role

The Corporate Partnerships Manager is responsible for delivering, renewing and evolving new and existing high-value, long-term corporate partnerships. They will work with the Senior Corporate Account Manager to support the team in delivering best-in-class account management. The Corporate Partnerships Manager will also support with new business and revenue generation through securing additional income.

The ideal candidate will have experience in managing a variety of corporate accounts and have a good understanding of the partnerships landscape and stakeholder management. The candidate will be a creative problem solver, with exemplary relationship building and customer service skills. The role will be focussed on both account management and new business. The candidate will have an ambitious approach to generating revenue through income growth opportunities and new business both with existing accounts and new prospects for the National Theatre.

The successful candidate will have the following: 

• Proven track record of securing income and managing partnerships/sponsorships, possibly gained within a target driven environment.

• Experience of negotiating bespoke partnership deals and benefit packages and composing commercial participator agreements or similar legal contracts.

• Demonstrable experience of managing stakeholder relationships, preferably with c-suite involvement

• Ability to effectively chair and manage external partner meetings, taking a confident and proactive approach whilst also being responsive and accountable for meeting outcomes

• Commercial awareness with knowledge of various corporate sectors
