Within our Business Development Team there are two vacancies for Projects & Partnerships Officers. These roles will each look after specific projects under our management. Some projects managed by the Community Foundation include the Best Kept Village & Community Competition, Trust Transfer projects, and frontline projects supporting rough sleeping, digital exclusion and care leavers, amongst others. As well as general administrative tasks, you will help to arrange events which support and promote our projects, create resources and manage relationships with our supporters and donors. You will be responsible for the direct delivery of some of our projects, and help to steer future projects and partnership work. As the Institute’s Fundraising Manager you will play a pivotal role in securing the financial resources necessary to support the Institute’s strategic initiatives and operations, as well as maintaining the relationships and communities that drive long term funding. Working closely with the Institute’s Executive Leadership and board, you will be responsible for executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy from mixed funding sources – government, philanthropic and corporate - engaging with funders, and building lasting relationships with stakeholders to maximise funding opportunities.

Data Management and Reporting

We are looking for an experienced institutional funding expert to lead and manage a busy portfolio. This is a role in which the successful candidate will need to juggle multiple and complex projects. Key duties will include:
- Leading the development and implementation of a portfolio of work within the institutional funding team (IFT) currently focused on West Africa (17 Anglophone, Francophone and Lusophone countries), and lead on the development of strategic partnerships with individual institutional donors as prioritised.

This role is involved and multi-faceted with regular meetings across the organisation. This is a full-time role that may be worked from home for the majority of the time however some visits to our offices in Haywards Heath, West Sussex (RH16 3BW) will be required. On average this is likely to be twice per year. If you prefer to work from or are visiting our collaborative, modern office space, you will find it an easy 20-minute train journey from Brighton or 45 minutes from London. Programme travel to West Africa and other locations will also be necessary - we anticipate approximately three trips per year, usually of one week each.

Main responsibilities
- You will build on the excellent foundations laid by the outgoing Community Fundraiser to raise our profile amongst our neighbours and with local organisations
- You will proactively recruit new supporters, build our individual supporter base and develop regular stewardship and communications
- You will offer high-quality relationship management and donor care to supporters including providing fundraising materials, encouragement and support to maximise their fundraising potential, as well as ensuring donors are recognised and thanked for their contribution
- You will develop and deliver fundraising operational plans, ensure good fundraising practice and messaging is embedded throughout the entire organisation.

Westway Trust is seeking a highly experienced and professional Senior HR Manager to join our vibrant, friendly team of three on a 2-year fixed-term contract to deliver a strong, credible, and reliable service across all aspects of our HR function in support of the range of activities undertaken by the organisation. The post will particularly suit someone with a significant charity HR background who is looking to gain the further experience necessary to equip them for making the step up to Head of HR roles. Key responsibilities of the role include but not limited to:
- Provide high quality support to the Head of Governance and HR on aspects of the Trust’s HR function and on the provision of accurate, timely and relevant updates and reports as required by the Executive Team.
- Ensure effective up-to-date HR policies and relevant other policies that meet the needs of the Trust and its staff are in place, reviewing them on an agreed schedule in line with the Trust’s Policy Matrix and updating as required. Identify any gaps in the suite of HR policies and develop new policies to fill that gap. Overall maintenance of the Policy Matrix.
- Lead on the Trust’s EDI policy, ensuring that the policy is implemented in a practical way throughout the organisation and in all our activities. Ensure the HR-related recommendations of the Tutu Foundation review into institutional racism at the Trust are progressed to a conclusion.
- Support the Head of Governance and HR in delivering the actions that support preparations for the next Investors in People (IiP) external assessment in late 2024. Ensure the Trust’s HR policies and practices remain consistent with the IiP standard.
- Work proactively with the HR Business Partner on the running of staff recruitment and selection processes, including sitting as the HR representative on the interview panel for more senior roles.
Essential Experience, Skills and Attributes
- Substantial experience of working in HR operations and of developing and reviewing appropriate HR policies and procedures in a charity or similar setting.
- Sound understanding of employment law and a willingness to keep up-to-date with relevant legislative changes.
- A passion for EDI and an ability to be creative and engaging in communications around this subject.
- Strong organisational skills and an understanding of the importance of discretion and confidentiality.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including evidence of ability to adapt to a variety of cultural settings.
- A team player, with excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to earn quickly the trust and confidence of staff and other stakeholders.
Desirable Experience, Skills and Attributes:
- A good knowledge/understanding of the local area and community or demonstrable willingness to learn quickly.
- Experience of change management.
- Competency in use of Access Select HR and MS Office software packages.

The purpose of the role
The Corporate Partnerships Manager is responsible for delivering, renewing and evolving new and existing high-value, long-term corporate partnerships. They will work with the Senior Corporate Account Manager to support the team in delivering best-in-class account management. The Corporate Partnerships Manager will also support with new business and revenue generation through securing additional income.
The ideal candidate will have experience in managing a variety of corporate accounts and have a good understanding of the partnerships landscape and stakeholder management. The candidate will be a creative problem solver, with exemplary relationship building and customer service skills. The role will be focussed on both account management and new business. The candidate will have an ambitious approach to generating revenue through income growth opportunities and new business both with existing accounts and new prospects for the National Theatre.
The successful candidate will have the following:

Proven track record of securing income and managing partnerships/sponsorships, possibly gained within a target driven environment.

Experience of negotiating bespoke partnership deals and benefit packages and composing commercial participator agreements or similar legal contracts.
