We are looking for a Prospect Research & Donor Insight Manager to join the National Theatre Development Team.

The purpose of the role

This role is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of fundraising at the National Theatre, as we look to grow our income from individual members, major donors, trusts and corporate organisations.

Working with the Senior Prospect Research & Donor Insight Manager, you will develop a strong fundraising pipeline that will ensure the team can reach their long-term targets.

Your natural curiosity will lead you to identify new opportunities using a variety of online sources in combination with the NT’s database, Tessitura, and you will be able to articulate your recommendations to fundraisers in a concise and compelling way. With excellent attention to detail, this role also undertakes due diligence research into potential funders to assess any risks to the NT of accepting funds. This role also manages the Development Operations Assistant, who leads the day-to-day administration of the Development database.

The role has scope to offer insights across the whole Development team and NT senior management, and would suit a strong collaborator with enthusiasm for the work of the NT.

The successful candidate will have the following: 

• Experience of managing prospect research projects and supporting prospect pipeline management in a fundraising environment.

• Experience of Tessitura or other customer relations management systems.

• Proven ability to gather and interpret information for relevance from a variety of sources.

• An appreciation for donor motivations and ability to make thoughtful connections with projects.

• Evidence of the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner, both written and orally.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced youth worker to join our Brent team. You will bring energy, compassion, and resilience to make a real change to the life chances of young people in the UK asylum system.

You will be responsible for supporting young people aged 14-25 years, enabling them to access a range of social, emotional, and practical support as they navigate the complex and challenging processes of the UK asylum system.You will help us run activities for young people at our advice hub on Wednesday evenings in Brent and run our youth group on Thursday evenings in Brent n as well as our sporting activities and trips.

You will work closely with our Brent Youth Development Coordinator. You will need to be able to work under pressure, acting as a consistent and stable point of contact for young people, ensuring that their safety and well-being are paramount.

About you

We would like to hear from you if you have the following:

· Demonstrable experience in supporting vulnerable young people in a similar role, particularly through youth activities in 1;1 and/or group settings, or befriending/mentoring 

· Good knowledge of the UK asylum system and the related challenges facing young refugees and asylum-seekers in contingency accommodation

· Strong ability to problem-solve, research information and solutions, and to take initiative

· Working knowledge of child protection issues and safeguarding processes 

· Ability to empathise, communicate and engage effectively with young people in distress 

· Ability to handle complex, sensitive and confidential information appropriately

· You are available to work on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

Job Description

The Health Link Worker will:

• Provide information for and about carers and young carers to GP practices and health and social care teams.
• Assist in maintaining carers’ information boards in GP practices and at other health and social care locations.
• Continue to promote good practice guidance and steer relevant personnel at GP practices and other health settings through the guidance framework.
• Provide presentations, training and talks to health and social care staff on carers needs and include all aspects of caring within the awareness raising.
• Raise carer awareness in hospitals and develop carer friendly processes.
• Encourage carer participation on forums, groups and boards.
• Network with relevant organisations to raise awareness of carers issues.
• Assist in the delivery of carer awareness training in partnership with other members of the team.
• Work closely with other organisations such as Healthwatch.

Duties and Responsibilities

Welfare Benefits

1)Provide casework covering the full range of welfare benefits.

2)Act for the client where necessary by calculating, negotiating, drafting or writing letters and telephoning.

3)Negotiate with third parties as appropriate.

4)Ensure income maximisation through the take up of appropriate benefits.

5)Assist clients with other related problems where they are an integral part of their case and refer to other advisers or specialist agencies as appropriate.

6)Make home/outreach visits as necessary.

7)Provide advice and assistance to other staff across the whole range of issues.

8)Maintain case records for the purpose of continuity of casework, information retrieval, statistical monitoring and report preparation.

9)Ensure that all work conforms to the organisations systems and procedures.

10)Keep up to date with legislation.

11)Attend relevant internal and external meetings.

12)Use IT for statistical recording and record keeping

13)Maintain close liaison with relevant external organisations

Information and Support

1) Identify hidden Carers and provide them with high quality information, advice and support.  This will include:

a)Answering enquiries about available services, and other organisations of interest to Carers

b)Sending Carers appropriate leaflets and application forms.

c)Referring Carers for carers’ assessment

d)Providing an empathetic and supportive ear to Carers about the difficulties they may be experiencing.

e)To signpost carers to relevant voluntary and statutory organisations.

2) Keep up-to-date with services, and organisations relevant to Carers.

3) To promote the work of the organisation by use of media, talks, presentations, displays etc.

4) Make links with relevant statutory and voluntary organisations.

Casework/Individual Support

1) Work on behalf of Carers both by phone and in writing to help them to obtain the services they need.

2) Attend meetings, case conferences, complaints procedures etc. as necessary to support individual Carers.

3) Make home-visits as necessary to carry out this aspect of the work and initial support to new carers via home visit. 

4) Liaise with other advice/advocacy organisations to develop and maintain referral systems.

Administration and Monitoring

1) Produce statistics and other monitoring reports to the management

2) To be primarily self-servicing including word processing letters, keeping appropriate records of work undertaken, write reports and complete monitoring forms. 

3)      To enter information on to the database.  

General Tasks

1) To work as part of a team contributing to the smooth and effective running of Knowsley Carers Centre.

3) To produce articles for the Carers Centre newsletter and to distribute

 to establishments around Knowsley.

4) To attend and actively participate in regular supervision, team meetings and annual appraisal sessions.

5) To undertake relevant training and staff development activities as required.

6) To undertake occasional evening/weekend work where necessary.

7) To undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by the Centre Manager.

8) All employees are expected to read and abide by the organisations policies and procedures.

You’ll develop trusted partnerships with local stakeholders, practitioners, businesses and services to promote and embed the service in the local area, supporting the development of a positive ‘carer friendly’ culture in Lewisham.

This role will suit a people person who can quickly develop relationships, lead a team, and work closely in a supportive role with Adult Carers, Young Adult Carers and Young Carers. You’ll have overall responsibility for the Carer’s hub, where carers can drop in for advice and support, manage a small caseload, and support the delivery of the service’s range of activities as required, including respite activities, online groups, face-to-face sessions.

We are looking for a great motivator with excellent communication and organisational skills. Applicants should have relevant team or project management experience in social care, health, education or the voluntary and community sector. You will have experience of working with vulnerable adults and/or children and operational knowledge of multi-agency working. A practical understanding of barriers faced by unpaid carers, and an awareness of cultural differences will be key in this role.

This is a full-time role and the postholder can either be based in the community in Lewisham or our New Ash Green office, with travel to the other area/ office 2 days a week. The postholder must have access to their own ULEZ compliant car.

We are excited to be recruiting for a newly created role of Service Manager for Children and Young Adults to significantly grow the provision we have for 5 - 25 year olds.

We offer a range of services for children as young as 5, up to and through transitioning into adult services. You will be working alongside the Adult services and Development Manager to ensure joined up working.

Along with the daily management of staff, you will have a strategic overview of the services and have the ability to work with those involved to make changes to meet local need, which will include the development of new services.

A key element of this role is to work closely with parents, carers, and educational settings, so good communication skills are a must. If you have experience working in an SEN setting, have understanding of Ofsted/ CQC and management/ development skills please do get in touch.

Main purpose of job:

• Responsible for the efficient and safe provision of individual and group support for children and young people.
• Development of significant new provision to meet current and future need. This will include the provision of ‘alternative education’, after school/evening activities and increased capacity of weekend services.
• Collaboration with the Adult Service (Development) Manager to enable seamless transition across services.
• Development of strong links with potential referrers/commissioners and partners. To ensure Nottingham Mencap becomes a relevant provider of choice of a wide range of children’s services across the county.

Location: Nottingham may be required to work across more than one site.

 Main tasks of job:

1. Operational management of current and future group activities for children and young people. Ensure they are appropriately staffed, meet needs and of a high standard within a safe and healthy environment.

2. Support to, and supervision of, the Short Breaks Co-ordinators to deliver well-managed and expanding services.

3. Development of new services/groups, changes to current activities, and the stopping of those no longer viable. These will include the provision of ‘alternative education’, after school/evening activities and increase in capacity of weekend services.

4. Financial/budget management of new and existing services including identifying and securing new sources of income.

5. Ensure demonstrable quality outcomes are developed for those who attend.

6. Joint responsibility (with the Adult Services Manager) to ensure our services are integrated and seamless and champion the needs of young people transitioning into adulthood.

7. Create a positive and motivational environment which allows the staff team, and the young people we support, to thrive.

8. Focus on each individual’s potential and making a positive difference to young people’s lives, ensuring they progress towards achieving their aspirations.

9. Embrace a culture of change and improvement. Instigate measures to improve access and quality. Maintain a focus on increasing the number and diversity of people who attend our services.

10. Develop and maintain quality/performance matrixes to satisfy internal and external scrutiny. Ensure adherence to standards required by the CQC and Ofsted.

11. Ensure all staff are offered appropriate training and that staff are trained to carry out their respective roles.

12. Recruitment, employment, supervision, and appraisals of staff team. Proactive management of annual leave, sickness, absence, and other personnel related issues.

13. Work alongside Finance and the Admin team to ensure systems accurately track financial and activity data. Ensure services are delivered within budget and relevant documentation is completed for the production of reports for internal and external inspection.

14. Ensure group environments are sensitive to individual needs and relevant assessments (including risk) have been undertaken and communicated to all relevant workers.

15. Ensure effective communication with others, including referrers, social workers, keyworkers, and carers. Establish effective feedback mechanisms with children, young people, and their families. Ensure the development of positive relationships with parents/carers is enshrined within our values and processes.

16. Proactively liaise with current and potential future commissioners/funders. Ensure availability of high quality and personally tailored services to address the personalisation agenda and attract those seeking a range of support options via personal budgets.

17. Robust implementation of policies and procedures adopted by Nottingham Mencap

18. Participation in relevant activities and meetings across the organisation. Act as a fully participative member of the senior management team.

Your role

As Assistant Shop Manager, it is an exciting opportunity to work alongside the Shop Manager in Surbiton's brand new Scope shop (Victoria Road, Surbiton, KT6 4NS). The shop will be opening mid 2024.  You will be able to use your creativity and flair to flourish in our retail environment. Our retail roles are full of variety, and every day is different! One day you might be be generating and processing stock and designing an eye-catching window display. The next day you might be recruiting and training our wonderful volunteers. Every day there will be a different challenge that you’ll find extremely rewarding. You may also deputise and be responsible for running the shop when the shop manager is absent. A great attitude and willingness to learn are just as important as relevant experience.

About you

You’ll be a dedicated team player with a strong work ethic and committed to providing excellent customer service. You do not need specific retail experience. But we do ask that you are business minded and have worked in a fast paced, service environment where you put the customer’s needs first. You’ll also need to showcase a great attention to detail, solid IT skills and have a creative eye for displays.
