About the Role

Sense is looking for an ambitious and insight-driven Head of Marketing Strategy & Audiences to help shape the future of our marketing and supporter engagement. This is a pivotal leadership role at an exciting time, as we deliver our new organisational strategy and strengthen how we connect with, understand and grow our audiences. This role is full time, based at our King’s Cross office in London, with hybrid working in place. The successful candidate will work 2–3 days per week on site and meeting donors, with the remainder worked remotely.

We are looking for someone to join our local, independent Carer-led charity, someone who has their own personal story of caring, able to use that lived experience as well as their professional skills and knowledge to help others. The postholder will collaborate extensively with our funding partner, South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust, as well as other charity delivery partners to improve the identification of, and support for, unpaid family and friend Carers of adults with mental health needs. The work may also involve identifying children and young people in caring roles and brokering access to our Young Carers Support team.

We are looking for somone who has proven experience of providing direct emotional and practical support to women as well as up-to-date knowledge of legislation relating to survivors of gender-based violence. The post-holder will also have excellent casework skills, good written and verbal communication skills, clear professional boundaries, and be a proactive team player.

This post is restricted to women due to the nature of the role. The Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies.

The Caseworker for NOVA Northern Ireland will manage and support a caseload of veterans, providing emotional and practical support across a range of factors including mental health and wellbeing, social stability, housing and employability. They will be working in collaboration with local partners to reduce reoffending.

The Caseworker for NOVA Northern Ireland will work in the community, in partnership with the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), the Probation Board for Northern Ireland (PBNI) and other local partners to provide support to veterans at all stages of the justice pathway: pre-arrest, point of arrest, court process, custody, and transition back into the community.

The Role

Purpose of the role

We are looking for a passionate and strategic Philanthropy Manager to help drive our mission to restore wildlife and create a world where wildlife thrives.  This role is focused on raising vital funds from individuals to support ZSL’s global ambition.  You will lead on engaging new and cultivating existing supporters, securing high-value and major gifts. As part of your stewardship and cultivation work, you will build deep, lasting relationships and grow a sustainable income stream that powers our global impact.

This is a hybrid role, with the expectation of spending two days a week in the office at a minimum, alongside attending occasional off-site meetings with donors and stakeholders.  As with many major gift roles, there may be some evening or weekend work to support events, donor visits, or special experiences.

Key responsibilities:

Fundraising Strategy: Contribute to strategic planning to ensure a coordinated and donor-centric approach that maximises philanthropic support, in collaboration with the Head of Philanthropy.

Donor Cultivation and Stewardship: To manage and grow a personal portfolio of high-value and major donors, securing income from high-value and major gifts.

Prospect Research: Identifying and researching potential donors who align with the organisation's mission and goals, with support from the Prospect Researcher.

Proposal Writing and Donor Reporting: Craft compelling and personalised proposals and presentations to secure funding, and work closely with the wider fundraising and project delivery teams to produce high quality reports.

Event Management: Support the organisation and delivery of events to cultivate relationships with donors and prospects.

Financial accountability: Keep accurate records and handle accompanying gift administration and recognition.

About you

• Experienced fundraising and donor development professional within the charity or cultural sectors, with a proven track record of securing five- and six-figure gifts from individuals, trusts, foundations, and institutional partners.
• Confident in developing compelling proposals and presentations that engage and inspire individual philanthropists.
• Experience working with fundraising databases and donor management systems.
• A proven track record in working with senior volunteers in a fundraising context.
• Knowledge of fundraising best practices and ethical considerations.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship management skills.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Operations Manager to oversee the effective day-to-day running of the charity’s services and internal operations.

Reporting to the Director, you will ensure that services are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You will also play an important role in strengthening operational systems and processes, helping the charity improve and grow its impact.

You will manage a small operational team including caseworkers, lived experience coaches, an administrator and an evening worker, supporting them to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed and person-centred support to people experiencing homelessness. You’ll also use your strategic thinking skills to help improve service provision.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

• Oversee the day-to-day delivery of the charity’s services.
• Plan and manage the annual night shelter season and the year-round drop-in centre.
• Maintain oversight of case management, outreach activity and data systems.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and organisational policies.
• Oversee administrative and IT systems, including effective use of the case management system.

Service Development

• Review operational systems and processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Implement changes that improve efficiency, quality and impact.
• Use data, feedback and lived experience insight to inform service development.

Leadership and Team Management

• Line manage operational staff, providing supervision, guidance and performance management.

About You

We are looking for someone with both strong operational experience in the homelessness sector and a commitment to supporting people experiencing homelessness. You will identify with FCENS values, with a strong focus on trauma-informed care and lived experience.

You will bring:

• Significant experience in the homelessness sector or a related field such as housing, rough sleeping, outreach or multiple disadvantage.
• Experience managing services or operations within a small team or organisation.
• Experience line managing staff and supporting frontline practitioners.
• A strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management and good practice in frontline support services.
• Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a well-regarded and innovative project contributing to achieving positive outcomes for some of the most vulnerable families in England and beyond whose sick children are being treated at Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital (GOSH) We also provide an ‘open door’ service to our GOSH partners such as social workers and family support officers in our areas of expertise.

Being available onsite is an important aspect of this role and so this role is hybrid working.The exact split between remote/onsite working will be by agreement with the line manager and to meet the needs of the project which could change over time.
