As Centre Fundraiser, you will assist the Centre Fundraising Manager to implement the fundraising strategy to deliver income targets through proactive donor recruitment and excellent donor care.  

This includes supporting and retaining existing supporters and researching new key relationships with individuals as well as partnerships with local businesses, groups and associations.  

You will represent the work, vision and purpose of Maggie’s whilst supporting the delivery of local and central fundraising initiatives and campaigns. This includes presentations, face to face, telephone and written communications.  

There will be a requirement to work irregular hours as well as frequent local travel.

Team: Lifeline

What we’re looking for in our Lifeline Caseworker: 

• good all-round experience of performing administrative duties in a busy service 

• previous professional experience giving pet care advice 

• previous experience in a public facing role 

• an understanding of the problems experienced by families fleeing domestic abuse with pets 

• a confident self-starter who has had experience of working with volunteers and home visiting 

• a full, manual UK driving license and comfortable driving a van 

• good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 

• experience of working in the animal welfare sector and able to provide basic cat welfare and behaviour advice

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced freelance Finance Committee Clerk to support the administration and governance of our Finance Committee. This is a light-touch but important role, providing professional clerking support to ensure our committee meetings are well-structured, properly documented, and compliant with good governance practice.

The Finance Committee meets four times per year and comprises five members: the Treasurer (Chair), the CEO, and three trustees. The clerk plays a vital behind-the-scenes role in keeping meetings running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate meeting dates, send invitations, and manage attendance ahead of each quarterly meeting
• Prepare and circulate agendas in collaboration with the Chair and CEO (at least two weeks before each meeting)

Terms of Engagement

The British Paediatric Neurology Association (BPNA) is seeking to appoint an International Education Manager to join our team in central London, with the post requiring some international travel.

The BPNA is the professional organisation for doctors in the UK who specialise in the care of children with neurological disorders.  Building on our success to date, we are working jointly with the International League Against Epilepsy to facilitate the roll-out of an educational course for healthcare workers in countries around the world.  Paediatric Epilepsy Training (PET) was developed by the BPNA and has been running in the UK since 2005, and internationally since 2012, with over 22,000 attendees around the world to date.  PET has been successfully launched in 14 countries including Brazil, Ghana, Kenya, India, New Zealand and South Africa. Since 2012, there have been more than 9,000 attendees at courses outside the UK. 

The purpose of PET is to raise standards of care for children with epilepsy.  A UK faculty team delivers a 3-day launch programme in-country to faculty teams recruited locally, who commit to delivering a minimum of one course per year for 5-years.  The purpose of a launch event is to train the local team to deliver courses without reliance on UK faculty members. Roll-out is achieved through a healthcare partnership with the national paediatric or epilepsy organisation. 

The purpose of the International Education Manager is to project-manage ‘launches’ and provide additional support to further develop International Education at the BPNA.  You will work closely with colleagues and volunteers both in the UK and internationally to plan, problem-solve and to monitor progress against objectives.  You will be expected to develop strong project plans and budgets and to ensure that all projects are delivered on time and within budget. The role will involve travel to launch sites in order to run the launches and train local administrators.  You will support the ongoing development of the international PET Programme, including managing the travel of 18 international Country Leads to the UK in March 2027. You will also provide continual excellent stewardship to international faculty both established and new. We are looking for an experienced international development professional, who also has events and project-management experience. You will need to be flexible, organised, have meticulous attention to detail, be able to work to tight deadlines and be comfortable working in a global team with colleagues across different time zones.

JOB PURPOSE

The purpose of the International Education Manager is to successfully deliver international PET launches and rollouts and support the on-going delivery and development of the international PET programme. This role will:

· Project manage upcoming PET launches for the Caribbean and El Salvador/ Honduras.

· Travel to launch sites to manage launch events and to train local administrators to run PET courses.

· Manage project budgets and collate data for project reporting.

· Support the Director of Education to deliver the launch application process, monitoring incoming applications and queries.

· Support the overall delivery and development of the international PET programme.

· Maintain the quality and standards of PET, supporting others to do the same.
 

CORE DUTIES

1. Project manage PET launches ensuring that all activities are delivered on time and within budget.

2. Keep up to date with FCDO, news and local advice, produce travel risk assessments, and advise Director of Education and Executive Director on highlighted risks.

3. Work with Country Leads to set budgets for launches, manage expenditure and reconcile finances post-launch.

4. Work alongside the Director of Education, Education Content Co-Ordinator and International Programmes Assistant to support the delivery of the PET123 Update. Manage the travel of international attendees.

5. Develop relationships and Memoranda of Understanding with launch partners.

6. Carry out due diligence on new partners.

7. Working alongside colleagues across the Education department, ensure all course resources are consistent and maintain the quality standards for PET. Furthermore, support international partners to ensure easy access to the resources they need to run courses, including facilitating the translation of materials.

8. Contribute to quarterly Trustees’ reports on international short course activity and to the BPNA’s annual report.

9. Assist the Director of Education with launch information and data for fundraising proposals and reports as required.

10.  Support BPNA’s annual conference as required.

11.  Assist with other tasks as requested by the Director of Education, Executive Director or Trustees.

LEVEL OF SUPERVISION

Supervision of others

No direct supervision of others but will matrix-manage the International Programme Assistant on any tasks that require their support.

Supervision and support from your line manager and trustees

Your line manager will be the Director of Education.  Your priorities and targets are set according to the BPNA Operational Plan and the International Education Strategy and monitored by your line manager. 

COMMUNICATION

You will be in contact with both internal and external stakeholders at a variety of levels, including some for whom English will not be their first language. You should be able to adapt your communication style to the audience, ensuring the clear and comprehensive communication of logistical details.

FINANCIAL AND RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

· Ordering responsibility within defined BPNA procedures.

· Setting budgets for PET launches and ensuring expenditure is in line.

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Finance and Operations Manager to oversee our financial operations and ensure the effective management of our resources. This role is central to maintaining our financial health and supporting our strategic goals. You will ensure all financial processes are accurate, compliant, and efficient. You will work closely with our Director to ensure all financial processes are accurate, compliant, and efficient. 

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES INCLUDE: 

Invoicing and Payments 

Cash and Monitoring 

• Update monthly actuals and track variances within the cashflow. 
• Support project teams with maintaining and reporting on budgets in line with funder requirements.

The Compliance & Recruitment Officer plays a vital role supporting the Recruitment and Compliance Team Partners to ensure that our recruitment and onboarding processes for permanent staff, temporary workers, and volunteers align with regulatory requirements and maintain the integrity and compliance of our hiring practice.

As a Compliance & Recruitment Officer you will deliver a high quality and responsive service to prospective candidates, recruiting managers and business stakeholders. Skills and Responsibilities 

On-Boarding & Compliance

• Coordinate all aspects of the onboarding and compliance process and ensure that the processes are completed accurately, efficiently and in a timely manner, including: issuing contracts, pre-employment compliance checks, and keying new starters/setting up new starters on the onboarding system.
• Ensure the accurate entry and maintenance of data onto the relevant HR Systems/ spreadsheets, by employing robust quality assurance and due diligence measures.

• Conduct audit checks on new starters, volunteer and temporary worker files and report back to team to ensure continuous improvement and accuracy of data collected.
• Coordinate and/or supervise a regular and continuous calendar of personnel file reviews and audits, to ensure and maintain regulatory compliance, and where relevant escalate non- compliance issues to the Compliance Partner and/or the Recruitment & Compliance Manager.
• Assist in the coordination and delivery of an annual audit of CQC and Ofsted standards, across relevant business areas, e.g. The Children’s Trust School.
• Proactively maintain an up-to-date knowledge of our associated regulatory requirements, highlighting any updates and subsequent implications as soon as reasonably practical.
• Impart expertise and knowledge by delivering training sessions for new starters on compliance processes.
• In collaboration with the Organisation Development Team ensure the delivery of a seamless and engaging On-boarding and Induction experience for new staff and volunteers.

Recruitment & Selection

• Be responsible for the recruitment, on-boarding and compliance process for all types of permanent employees, Bank employees, temporary workers and volunteers. 
• Maintain the administration of recruitment and onboarding records, ensuring that these are complete and accurate
• Ensure all recruitment activities and the candidate life-cycle are underpinned by our Promises, whilst adhering to current employment legislation including Disclosure & Barring Service, Care Quality Commission, Ofsted, KCSIE and all policies and procedures
• Maintain an up-to-date list of vacancies, and ensure that all vacancies are advertised internally and/ or externally, in a timely manner.
• Support the Recruitment Team in the review and implementation of new and progressive recruitment initiatives, e.g. Employee Referral Scheme; Graduate Programmes; Apprenticeships; and overseas recruitment, with a view to increase the diversity and skill set of our workforce, across the organisation.
• Support the Recruitment & Compliance Partners with advertising vacancies, as well as the organisation and delivery of recruitment events and campaigns.
• Support the Recruitment & Compliance Manager with Bank Administrator recruitment and management of assignments.
• Supervise and coordinate the daily work tasks of team Bank Administration or Volunteer support, ensuring that all administrative aspects of the recruitment process are delivered to regulatory standards, on time and in a professional manner.
• Undertake other or additional duties that are within your skills and abilities, as the organisation may reasonably require from time to time.

People Team Support

• Where required, contribute to the collation of relevant recruitment and compliance data, ensuring that these are complete and accurate, in order to support the preparation, analysis and production of relevant service reports, e.g. recruitment KPIs, time to hire (on-boarding KPIs), SCR school reports, right to work/visa reporting.
• Build strong internal and external relationships and provide a first class, added value service, to all staff and external partners/ customers.
• Where required, provide additional support on specific People Team projects, as informed by and agreed with the Recruitment & Compliance Manager.
• Assist in the streamlining and automation of processes to improve operational efficiency

The Finance Officer will play a key role in maintaining strong financial controls, ensuring data accuracy, and supporting the effective stewardship of resources across the organisation.

Key responsibilities:

Financial Operations

• Act as the first point of contact for finance-related queries, responding or escalating as appropriate 

• Contribute to the effective day-to-day financial operations across the Church and associated entities 

• Process and accurately record income and expenditure transactions in line with internal processes 

• Maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready financial records 

• Support the handling, recording, and secure processing of cash and cheque income in line with established procedures 

• Prepare and arrange the banking of funds, ensuring accurate reconciliation to financial records 

• Support financial processes across multiple related entities, including appropriate allocation of income and costs 

• Process and reconcile inter-entity transactions where required 

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, escalating issues where appropriate 

Income, Giving, & Donor Administration

• Administer all income streams, including donations, events, and charitable and commercial activities 

• Maintain accurate records of donor giving and ensure appropriate allocation of funds 

• Process Gift Aid claims in compliance with relevant regulations and maintain supporting documentation 

• Reconcile giving records with bank and system data, investigating and resolving discrepancies 

• Support donor communications, including responding to queries and preparing giving statements and related communications 

Accounts Payable & Receivable

• Process supplier invoices, staff and volunteer expenses, and other payments in a timely manner 

• Ensure all transactions are appropriately authorised and coded in line with financial controls 

• Support the preparation and execution of payment runs 

• Raise invoices and manage incoming payments, including monitoring outstanding balances and following up where necessary

• Prepare and process payments, including international transactions where required, ensuring accuracy and appropriate authorization.

Financial Controls & Compliance

• Maintain and apply financial controls, including approval processes and expense policies 

• Support fraud prevention measures, including verification of payment details and appropriate segregation of duties 

• Ensure compliance with charity finance requirements, including Gift Aid and restricted fund management 

• Maintain accurate and audit-ready financial records and supporting documentation 

• Maintain appropriate controls over cash handling and banking processes 

• Support the integrity and accuracy of financial data across systems

Month-End & Reporting Support
 

• Assist with period-end processes, including reconciliations and preparation of supporting schedules 

• Prepare draft financial reports and summaries for review by the Finance Manager 

• Provide basic analysis and commentary on financial performance where appropriate 

• Monitor bank balances and support cashflow awareness through regular updates and reporting 

Systems & Process Improvement

• Use financial and related systems effectively to maintain data accuracy and efficiency 

• Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and internal controls 

• Support the implementation of new systems or process improvements where required 

General Support

· Provide administrative and operational support to the Finance Manager as required

· Contribute to the continuous improvement of the finance function

The Therapies Caseworker will be responsible for supporting delivery of Ben’s therapy provision including Ben’s 24/7 support line and onward therapy referrals. This role requires strong administration and caseworking skills, a level of specialist knowledge or experience and a commitment to providing person centred, compassionate support for those who are struggling or in crisis.

Key responsibilities

• • Provide access to information, advice and guidance regarding Ben’s 24/7 support line and therapy provision.
  • Supporting the Therapies Co-ordinator to manage therapy referrals for service users, helping to ensure that support is delivered in a timely and effective manner.
  • Facilitate referrals to external providers and third parties as applicable to meet service user needs.
  • Review referrals from Ben’s external provider of 24/7 support line and counselling services to assess and provide casework that require ongoing contact whilst receiving therapy support and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders a required, including Ben’s Support Case Managers should this be required.
  • Advocate for service users should this be needed to help ensure the appropriate and effective support and care can be accessed.
  • Help to ensure all service users receive appropriate and effective support and care throughout their engagement with Ben’s support line and therapy provision.
  • Provide emotional support and crisis intervention for service users should the need arise.
  • Maintaining and updating accurate service user records in maintaining confidentiality and GDPR requirements.

· To communicate in a professional and sensitive manner clinical and non-clinical advice and guidance within the scope of the service and practice to both internal and external stakeholders.

· Support Ben’s Urgent Response Service offering briefings, providing listening ear activity and therapeutic activities as and when required.

• • Support with the ongoing management and expansion of Ben’s therapy directory of providers and associates as required.

· In the absence of Therapies Co-ordinator or when needed may be required to set up new providers and associates, including due diligence checks which are also in line with new supplier requirements for financial administration.

· Support with the collection of management information and service user client outcomes and satisfaction data and insights.

· Collaborate on initiatives and projects that advance Ben’s charitable mission and objectives.

· Ensure any associated targets, SLA’s are worked towards and achieved and any underperformance is escalated accordingly.

· There may be times when the Therapies Caseworker may be required to support additional duties or projects. This will be discussed with them and agreed with their line manager.

Whilst this role does not specifically require the individual in post to be a clinician, this would be a desirable and enable the postholder to deliver internal therapeutic support for specific cases, providing telephone / virtual counselling sessions to identified individuals. In this instance, the postholder would also be required to maintain their professional registrations and CPD (Continuing Professional Development) as applicable, this will be supported by the organisation also.

Qualifications required

· It is not an essential requirement to hold a specific qualification for this role

· It would be desirable for the postholder to have or be working towards a minimum Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling or equivalent, or alternatively registered as a health, mental health, or social care practitioner e.g. BACP/UKCP/HCPC/BABCP or equivalent

· It would be desirable for the postholder to have a level 3 or 4 IAG qualification
