NRC UK was established in 2020 with the main objective of strengthening the profile, outreach, and impact of the Norwegian Refugee Council as a humanitarian organisation in the United Kingdom. We work to leverage relationships with UK foundations, corporates and private philanthropists to secure funding that enables NRC to deliver its mission and improve the lives of people displaced by conflict. We also work to influence stakeholders and partners in the UK in order to influence their humanitarian policies and practices.
You are likely to be in the early stages of your career, interested and experienced in humanitarian work and ready to lend your hands-on organisational and administrative skills to to enable the advocacy and fundraising work of the UK Director, the Private Partnerships Special Adviser and the rest of the core team based in the London office.
You will bring enthusiasm and ability to work confidently and independently with guidance and supervision on a range of external-facing administrative tasks including communications, relationship management, note-taking and record-keeping, desk research & analysis and event organisation.
These tasks and responsibilities will support NRC UK in the implementation of our strategy and action plans on private fundraising and external engagement and will also provide support to the Director in delegated areas on a full range of activities in the UK including advocacy, institutional funding, strategic partnerships, compliance and office management.
Please note this role is offered at 80% of FTE (4 days per week).
Responsibilities
1. Support the Private Sector Partnerships Specialist Adviser (50%) and the UK Director (50%) to deliver on key tasks required in order to meet NRC UK’s private fundraising and broader objectives.
2. Provide administrative support to the Specialist Adviser on tasks necessary to meet fundraising targets, including communications and relationship management, prospect research, due diligence, meeting and event organisation.
3. Provide administrative support to the UK Director including communications, organising and attending both external and internal meetings and events, taking notes and minutes, research and analysis, document preparation and coordinating input into internal reports including the annual report.
4. Provide additional ad-hoc administrative support to the NRC UK team as required.
5. The Officer will be required to execute existing workplans and meet objectives and deadlines with oversight and support from Adviser and Director.
Qualifications
- 3 years of progressive professional experience (preferably within the UK Third Sector) in business development, advocacy, fundraising and/or general administrative duties
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Politics, Law, Communications, International Relations or a relevant field. Equivalent experience will be accepted instead of qualifications.
- Demonstrable experience in prospect research and ability to identify partnership opportunities based on criteria provided by NRC
- Demonstrable interest in humanitarian issues, with clear understanding of ethical and principled humanitarian approaches.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
1. IT RESPONSIBILITIES

Be the first point of contact for our externally contracted IT support team, to ensure all devices are maintained, updated, upgraded, and secured, including operating systems, security patches, antivirus, and endpoint protection.

Lead on all IT systems across the organisation, including hardware, software, networks, cloud-based systems, and user access.

Be our cyber security awareness champion and link with the external IT support team on any suspected cyber incidents, phishing attempts, data breaches, or system vulnerabilities.

Purchase, install and configure new IT equipment and software in line with organisational needs, budget, and security requirements.

Support staff with installing and using approved software and digital tools, providing guidance and basic training as required.

Maintain accurate IT documentation, including user access, licences, warranties, and renewal schedules.

Support business continuity from an IT perspective, ensuring systems resilience, backups, and disaster recovery arrangements are in place and tested.
2. Resources and Core Business Administration

Lead on organisational resource management, including purchasing of equipment, supplies, and services, ensuring value for money and compliance with budgetary controls.

Maintain and update the Asset Register, ensuring all equipment is logged, tracked, and reviewed appropriately.

Provide administration to support the core business team including finance, health and safety contractors, insurance contracts

We are seeking to recruit a Volunteering Adviser to join our team in South West. As a Volunteering Adviser, you will work closely with a range of stakeholders across the organisation, supporting the development of volunteering across the South West region and the wider RNLI.
This will include:
- Implementation of initiatives to improve the volunteer experience.
- Developing sustainable opportunities along with taking a proactive approach to how we support and manage volunteers.
- Providing staff and volunteers with expert advice and guidance in all aspects of volunteering including areas such as recruitment, retention, problem solving and recognition.
- Supporting local implementation of the volunteering strategy.
- Assisting with the development of volunteer management toolkits and support managers in the use of these.
- Delivering volunteer management training workshops to diverse groups of volunteer managers both in person and virtually.
- Being an ambassador for volunteering and ensure it is championed at all levels.
- You will also be required to support a volunteering helpline service for approximately 2 weeks a year (until 8pm weekdays and 10 am – 4pm weekends).
About you
To be our Volunteering Adviser, you will need:
- Extensive volunteer management experience.
- Confidence in delivering face-to-face and virtual workshops.
- The ability to manage a complex workload.
- Experience in handling volunteering problem solving issues is desirable. In this role you will need to be able to work and plan autonomously. You will also need to have a proactive and flexible approach to work along with excellent interpersonal skills.

Action for Conservation is a UK grassroots charity using innovative approaches to inspire and empower young people from diverse backgrounds, between the ages of 12 and 24, to become the next generation of environmental leaders. In 2019, we launched our flagship Penpont Project on a 2,000-acre estate in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons), Wales. The Penpont Project is the largest intergenerational nature restoration project of its kind in the world, aiming to demonstrate how youth leadership and ambition can advance nature’s recovery at a time of acute ecological crisis.
We are currently looking for a Community Tree Nursery Coordinator to join the Penpont Project and run our Community Tree Nursery, growing trees from native tree species, including trees of conservation and heritage value, through collaborative learning and community-building activities. The focus of the role is as much on intergenerational learning and community engagement as it is on the processes of tree rearing and producing trees for planting out across the landscape. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone with good knowledge of tree planting, growth and care, and a passion for working with young people and communities. - Engage young people and the local community around Penpont with the Tree Nursery through a variety of events and activities, supporting them to grow their skills, knowledge and confidence related to trees, and ensure there is a solid volunteer base to support the nursery’s operation.
- Be responsible for the general coordination of Tree Nursery events and manage all relevant administration and logistics.
- Support monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) activities as relevant to your role to understand the impact of our work and facilitate learnings.
What we are looking for
- Experience of working with young people, ideally aged 12-18 and community volunteers and proven ability to engage, motivate and support people from diverse backgrounds and age groups
- Good horticultural knowledge, from selecting seeds to growing and nurturing tree stock, including traditional growing techniques; knowledge related to woodlands and forest ecosystems is desirable
- Experience of organising and running events and activities from start to finish, including liaising with stakeholders, managing logistics, health and safety and safeguarding
- Proven ability to facilitate stimulating, interactive and inclusive youth/community group sessions, especially practical activities in an outdoor setting
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills and ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, partners, young people and other stakeholders

Contract - Fixed-Term contract from 1st April 2026 – 31st March 2027 with possible extension (subject to successful funding from April 2027)
Hours - 18 hours per week
Salary - £13,487.15 per annum (£26,225 FTE)

Coram PACEY is the professional association dedicated to supporting home-based child carers, including childminders and nannies, to provide high quality services, information and advice to children, their families and carers.

As a key member of the Coram PACEY team to be responsible for recruitment, development, quality improvement and sustainability of registered childminders and home-based childcare providers in Cambridgeshire.
