The role

We are excited to be recruiting a new Trusts and Grants Officer and are seeking to appoint an experienced and proactive individual to manage our small to mid-trusts and grants portfolio applying for grants of c. £5,000 to £15,000. Additionally, they will help achieve the trusts and grants strategy alongside the Trusts and Grants Manager.

This is an important role in our High Value Fundraising Team, reporting to the Trusts and Grants Manager. The postholder will develop strong funder relationships, create high-quality applications and reports, practice strong stewardship, and practice thorough prospect research to grow their pipeline and maximise long-term support.

The individual we are looking for will:

• Have a proven track record of securing grants from trusts and foundations or equivalent education/experience in persuasive writing.
• Be confident in writing persuasive, high-quality funding applications and reports or equivalent.
• Bring strong project management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to grow and manage prospects.
• Be a team player with excellent communication skills, able to collaborate across functions and represent Penny Brohn UK externally with professionalism and passion.
• Have strong organisational skills to ensure timely applications and reports and maintain neat tidy internal systems and record-keeping. 
• Be highly motivated and proactive, with a commitment to delivering excellent funder experiences and upholding the mission and values of Penny Brohn UK.

As our first Executive Director, you will be the single point of accountability between our Board of Trustees and the day-to-day operation of the Centre - working alongside our (voluntary) Centre Manager and (voluntary) Volunteer Manager to support their roles, not duplicate them. About The Role

We are currently recruiting for two Practice Lead positions. One role will support Local House Projects (LHPs) in the North, while the location and focus of the second role is still to be confirmed.

As a Practice Lead, you will have primary responsibility for supporting a group of LHPs, while also contributing to wider areas of our work. You will work alongside staff within LHPs to create environments where young people are supported to make a positive transition into adulthood.

The initiative, co-designed with young people, began by asking, "What makes a house a home?” Local House Projects in England and Scotland help care leavers transition into permanent tenancies, fostering a supportive community. The Volunteer Coordinator is a National Lottery funded role supporting our Post-Diagnosis Support Programme and ensuring that volunteering is embedded across ReMind UK.  This is a proactive role which would suit someone with great organisational and people skills who enjoys supporting individuals and groups and working on a variety of activities.  The role will work with ReMind UK's Engagement team identifying and creating volunteering opportunities across the organisation, managing recruitment through community work and marketing, and implementing stewardship and evaluation processes for volunteers and ambassadors. As a key part of our Post-Diagnosis Support Programme, the role will ensure volunteers have an outstanding experience, working in a positive environment. 

ReMind UK overview

ReMind UK is an independent charity and internationally renowned centre for research, diagnosis and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. Our research aims to improve life for people with dementia and their families and carers, and to find drug and non-drug treatments for people with conditions such as Alzheimer's disease and other diseases predominantly affecting older people. Our contracted NHS Memory Clinic service, private memory assessments and allied activities provide support to people affected. We are currently in an ambitious phase of development looking to increase our clinical and academic research programme. We work closely with the Universities of Bath, Bristol and other research Institutions, both nationally and internationally and with the Royal United Hospital, Bath.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

1. Oversee recruitment of ReMind UK’s volunteers through building relationships and partnerships in the community and establishing effective recruitment materials and channels.

2. Work with the ReMind UK team to identify opportunities for volunteer roles to support and add value to the business.

3. Collaboratively create role descriptions and person specifications for volunteer roles.

4. Identify barriers to engagement, particularly from under represented groups and communities experiencing exclusion, and develop accessible new opportunities to engage potential audiences.

5. Support the Post-Diagnosis Support Programme Manager to identify opportunities for beneficiaries to support post diagnosis courses and events through volunteering.

6. Create and maintain accurate Risk Assessments for all volunteer roles and activities.

7. Ensure volunteers receive an excellent onboarding experience including induction and training.

8. Regularly check-in with volunteers and support ReMind UK staff to effectively manage and support their volunteers.

9. Ensure that volunteers deliver a high quality experience to beneficiaries while adhering to the objectives of their role in line with good practice and any health and safety guidelines. Ensure that they are well supported and supervised and that any training needs are identified and addressed in a timely manner.

10. Produce and regularly refresh volunteer materials including handbook and welcome pack.

11. Work with ReMind UK’s Marketing colleagues to keep the website up to date with volunteering opportunities and stories and provide engaging content for social media.

12. Maintain volunteer and enquirer data on the charity’s CRM ensuring compliance with GDPR and agreed data retention protocols at all times.

13. Monitor volunteering and community outreach activity through regularly collecting quantitative and qualitative insight, producing quarterly reports as requested by Head of Engagement.

14. In collaboration with Head of Engagement, design and deliver a stewardship programme for volunteers ensuring consistency of approach and continued improvement, building a sense of inclusion and value for volunteers and ambassadors.

15. Maintain a thorough understanding of Health & Safety issues around working with volunteers and ambassadors and ensure that all feedback, accidents or incidences are recorded, evaluated and used to adjust activities accordingly.

Salary
The salary for this position is £42,455 pro rata and we operate a hybrid working policy of a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.

Key Responsibilities

• Producing high-quality research profiles, insights and tailored briefings for our Philanthropy, Corporate Partnerships and Special Events fundraising teams.
• Leading and delivering robust due diligence casework on high-value supporters and senior volunteers, communicating findings clearly and professionally to inform decision-making around risk, reputation and compliance.
• Conducting market insight, sector analysis and horizon scanning to help shape strategy for high-value and global fundraising activity.
• Ensuring high standards of data management, governance and regulatory compliance, and supporting fundraising colleagues to maintain best practice in data handling and prospect management.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

We’re looking for a dynamic and strategic research professional with:

• Exceptional analytical, critical thinking and research skills.
• Significant experience in a prospect or fundraising research role within the not-for-profit sector or in a directly comparable environment with highly transferable skills (e.g. corporate intelligence, financial services, consultancy, journalism or risk analysis).
• Demonstrable experience delivering structured due diligence casework, ideally within a complex or international context.
• Experience operating in, or supporting, fundraising or stakeholder engagement within a global environment, including researching international individuals, corporates and philanthropic markets.
• Proficiency with a wide range of research, risk, compliance and business intelligence tools.
• The ability to build strong internal relationships and work collaboratively with senior stakeholders.

The programme is seeking an ambitious, experienced and highly organised Programme Co-ordinator to lead the delivery of the Pride in Place Programme in Immingham & Habrough . This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal leadership role in coordinating a community-led regeneration programme, ensuring local voices are at the heart of decision making and helping to create a lasting legacy for the area.

The successful candidate will provide visible place leadership, supporting the Neighbourhood Board to develop and deliver a 10-year Regeneration Plan and a 4-year Investment Plan. They will oversee programme governance, stakeholder engagement, project management, financial monitoring and compliance with government funding requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinating the development and submission of the Pride in Place 10-Year Regeneration Plan and 4-Year Investment Plan.
• Supporting and servicing the Neighbourhood Board, including governance, reporting and administration.
• Acting as a Place Leader, fostering collaboration across communities, organisations and sectors.
• Managing programme delivery, ensuring compliance with Government guidance and funding requirements.
• Leading community engagement activities and ensuring residents are central to programme development.
• Developing project plans, risk registers, reporting systems and performance monitoring frameworks.
• Supporting procurement processes and the commissioning of consultants, contractors and delivery partners.
• Managing budgets, financial reporting and audit requirements in partnership with the local authority.

The successful post holder must have:

• A degree-level qualification, professional qualification (Level 4-5) or equivalent relevant experience.
• Significant experience of leading complex programmes, projects or partnerships.
• Experience of stakeholder engagement, partnership working and community consultation.
• Strong programme and project management skills, including risk management and reporting.
• Experience of budget management and financial accountability.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders.
• Knowledge of grant-funded programmes and governance processes.
• The ability to analyse complex information and develop practical solutions.

The Woodland Trust is looking for a Fundraising Development Officer to join the Fundraising Development team and play a key role in raising vital income to support nature recovery across South West England. You'll build and manage relationships with major donors, secure funding through grants and legacy giving, and help deliver ambitious fundraising plans for projects, including the South West Rainforest Recovery Treescape.

This role is advertised as full-time, 37.5 hours per week.

The Role:

• Manage and grow a portfolio of major donors and prospects to secure significant philanthropic income, improve donor loyalty, and promote blended and legacy giving.
• Lead fundraising strategy and delivery for the Rainforest Recovery Treescape initiative, securing funding and acting as its fundraising champion.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, partners and internal stakeholders to maximise restricted and unrestricted fundraising opportunities.
• Develop compelling funding proposals, cases for support and other fundraising materials to secure income for regional projects.
• Work collaboratively across the South West and wider Woodland Trust to develop and deliver fundraising plans supporting nature recovery, woodland creation, outreach and land acquisition.
• Support and maximise fundraising events across the South West and UK to engage donors and generate income.
• Secure funding from regional grant-makers and community funding programmes, including local authorities, lottery and environmental funding sources.
• Collaborate with operational, grants and regional teams to identify funding opportunities and submit high-quality bids aligned with regional priorities.
• This is a homebased role, requiring regular travel to locations within the South West landscape, sometimes to remote locations. You would be expected to live within reasonable travelling distance of your area of responsibility. Occasional travel to regional offices and overnight stays will be required.
• This role does not come with a company vehicle, however after a 9-month period in-post, we will review vehicle business use to see if the post-holder is reaching the eligibility criteria as stated in our Company Vehicle Policy.  If the post-holder complies with those criteria, with sign off from our Facilities Team, a vehicle will be sourced and provided. The Candidate:

• Experience in fundraising, the charity sector or a target-driven communications environment.

You’ll be required to help grow our footprint, increase and diversify our partnerships and encourage the uptake of our programme. You will represent UKSR at community events, recovery walks and conferences and get involved in defined projects.

You should have experience in working with volunteers, understanding how to support and develop their skills. Previous delivery of training is essential, and if that experience has been gained in a peer-support or recovery setting, all the better. This role requires emotional intelligence; you’ll be working with people who have faced adversity, and your ability to support them within clear, professional boundaries is critical. Giving and receiving feedback, gathering data and other evidence to inform service development, and exercising reflective practice are all essential attributes.

You’ll also contribute to key projects that move SMART Recovery forward, adding your voice and insight to help shape what comes next. The role therefore requires project mangement skills as you will work on specific projects that develop our publications, training, communications and marketing. If you have a special interest and expertise in certain areas of our business such as social media and campaigns, training, volunteer management or copywriting we can develop this skill and interest as an enhancement to your role. Developing areas of expertise within our Co-ordinator team is something we are keen to do. 

As this is a home-based role, you’ll need to be comfortable forming meaningful relationships online, building trust and connection via email, phone, and video calls. We’ll provide the equipment you need, but you’ll bring the energy and adaptability to make remote working feel personal and productive. Regular travel across the defined regions is a vital part of the role, visiting SMART Recovery meetings in the community and within partner organisations, and offering continual support to facilitators, are all essential in helping our network continue to grow with the quality we strive for.
