The Prince of Wales Hospice in Pontefract provides care for people with a life limiting illness and their loved ones - giving them comfort, dignity and personalised care. Their specialist palliative care, wellbeing support and practical help is there to support families every step of the way.

The Prince of Wales Hospice help over 1,600 local people a year. Due to limited Government funding, income from donations are vital to continue providing their services, which are entirely free of charge to patients and their families.
We are looking for a passionate fundraiser to join the fantastic, ambitious team, could this be the role for you?
The Role
This is a key and vital role within the fundraising team. You will be responsible for delivering income from In-Memory, Legacy, and Regular Giving donations from mailed appeals and marketing campaigns.

The Person
We are looking for someone with experience in a fundraising or direct marketing role. You must have exceptional communication skills, the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively.
This is a creative role; therefore you must possess excellent writing skills with the ability to produce engaging and emotive content. You should have the proven ability to effectively juggle competing demands and prioritise workload, to achieve set targets. Ideally experience of using a customer relationship management database and knowledge of fundraising CRM (ideally Donorfy) would be advantageous.

About the Role
The Medical Sciences Development team works collaboratively with colleagues across the Division and the wider Development and Alumni Engagement team to secure philanthropic support for research priorities across Oxford’s medical sciences community.
As Development Executive, you will manage a portfolio of more than 100 major gift prospects and develop meaningful relationships with donors, academics, and colleagues across the University. You will identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors capable of supporting research projects through gifts typically ranging from £100,000 to £500,000 over time.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-profile fundraising initiatives that support world-leading medical research. You will also work closely with the Head of Development - Medical Sciences to help deliver fundraising priorities across a diverse and impactful portfolio.

The Role:
Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Engagement, you will lead, develop and inspire a dedicated fundraising team, creating a high-performance culture that delivers ambitious income targets across a diverse portfolio.
This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role. You will be responsible for developing and delivering the hospice's fundraising strategy, identifying new opportunities for growth, and personally supporting key relationships and fundraising initiatives. You will work closely with senior colleagues, trustees and external stakeholders, providing regular updates and reports to the Board on fundraising performance, opportunities and risks.
About You:
We are seeking a confident and experienced fundraising professional who combines strategic thinking with a practical, hands-on approach. You will be an inspirational leader with a proven ability to deliver income growth, develop high-performing teams and build strong relationships with supporters, partners and senior stakeholders.
You will be comfortable operating both strategically and operationally, with the credibility and communication skills to influence at Board level and represent the hospice externally.
