About the role:
Young people need more than a service that reacts when things go wrong. They need skilled, steady adults who can stay curious, hold hope and help others see the person behind the risk. As Senior Practitioner, you’ll help shape the quality of frontline practice in Camden Young Person’s High Support Accommodation Service, making sure young people are met with support that is thoughtful, consistent and ambitious for their future.
This is a practice leadership role, not a line management role. You’ll work alongside colleagues and young people where support feels stuck, helping the team think through safeguarding, risk, barriers to engagement, support planning, move-on and partnership responses. You’ll hold a caseload where required, contribute to reflective practice and case discussions, and model trauma informed, psychologically informed and strengths-based ways of working.
You’ll also help young people access the right support at the right time, working with partners across social care, CAMHS, youth offending, health, substance use and accommodation pathways. SANE is a UK-wide mental health charity working to improve the quality of life of anyone affected by mental illness. It aims to raise awareness and understanding of all mental health conditions; fight to improve frontline mental health services for individuals and carers; provide support, information and guidance through SANEline, our Call Back service, email and text support; and promote and host research into causes, treatments and therapies through its Prince of Wales International Centre for SANE research.
We are looking for people interested in providing compassionate support to people affected by mental health problems. This includes supporting people with severe mental illness, and carers, families and friends. In this role you will provide confidential emotional support by telephone, email and text.
This role provides valuable practical experience in providing emotional support to vulnerable people. Working within SANE support services requires a high level of empathy and emotional resilience as well as excellent communication skills. SANE takes take pride in providing a nurturing and supportive environment for both our staff and volunteers. Applications are particularly welcome from individuals with counselling, psychology or therapy qualifications or any other therapeutic disciplines who are committed to providing compassionate mental health support.
Hours: 2-3 days per week which can include weekends, to cover a 7 day service. Shifts generally run from 12-6pm or 12-8pm (some flexibility is available). All work is conducted on-site at SANE’s London office.
Starting Salary: £15.46 per hour

Role purpose
This is a critical, income-generating role responsible for growing Perennial’s Individual Giving programme and increasing unrestricted income, with a primary focus on supporter acquisition and on supporter development and retention.
This role translates strategy into delivery by converting audiences into supporters, and supporters into income, so our Services team can provide meaningful impact in people’s lives and income into meaningful impact.
You will own and deliver acquisition income targets, and working with our Marketing team lead on the development of audience-led, multi-channel campaigns that attract, convert and retain supporters.
This is an opportunity to build and scale Perennial’s Individual Giving programme from an early stage, shaping propositions, channels and supporter journeys to drive sustainable growth.
