Lead Software Engineer - FTC

We are investing in a new website platform that will provide an improved user experience, be built and operated using modern Tech (e.g. React, headless CMS, CI/CD) and be a foundation for continued future optimisation. The website will unlock the ability to attract more users (via increased visibility on search engines and repeat visits) and increase the number of people donating online for a cure.

This role will be the senior technology team member on the new website project team, ensuring that the solution designed and delivered primarily by our website development partner is using modern approaches and tools. In addition, this person will actively take part in the development and test of the website platform and ultimately be the internal technical owner of the platform for ARUK.  

The post holder will report into the CIO but work day to day with the Digital Engagement team to deliver the new website platform.

This is a 24-month fixed term contract.

Key Responsibilities:

· Act as the internal technical owner of the new website platform, providing strong technical leadership, governance, and assurance across its design, build, and operation.

· Provide technical oversight and direction to the appointed Digital / website development partner, ensuring best practice engineering approaches, tooling, and standards are applied throughout delivery.

· Own and make key technical design decisions, ensuring the website platform:

o Uses modern web and cloud‑native technologies (e.g. React, headless architecture).

o Uses modern technical approaches for code management, build and deployment pipelines (CI/CD).

o Aligns with Alzheimer’s Research UK’s broader enterprise architecture, security standards, and technology roadmap.

o Integrates effectively with existing and future Alzheimer’s Research UK’s systems (e.g. CRM, fundraising, analytics, marketing platforms).

· Actively contribute as a hands‑on software engineering individual contributor during the build and test phases, including:

o Reviewing and contributing to code where appropriate.

o Supporting technical problem‑solving and performance optimisation.

o Participating in testing, release, and deployment activities.

· Work closely day‑to‑day with the Digital Engagement team, ensuring technical delivery supports user experience, content, fundraising, and optimisation objectives.

· Establish and embed good engineering practices for the platform, including documentation, environment management, deployment, monitoring, and support handover.

· Take technical ownership of the platform post‑launch, supporting continuous improvement, optimisation, and future enhancements.

Knowledge, skills and experience needed:

· Strong professional experience as a senior software engineer / lead software engineer working on modern website or digital platforms.

· Ideally a full stack engineer with strong front-end skills (our main languages/ frameworks are React and Python/Django).

· Proven experience with modern front‑end and web architectures, including:

o React (or comparable modern JavaScript frameworks).

o Headless CMS and API‑driven architectures.

o CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices.

· Experience acting as a technical owner or lead for an app or website.

· Experience working with modern code management tools e.g. github, bitbucket) and of version control/code branching approaches.

· Experience using AI tools to improve engineering efficiency e.g. Cursor, Claude code, github copilot.

· Knowledge of code build and deployment processes

· Solid understanding of cloud‑hosted, scalable, and secure web platforms, including performance, resilience, and security considerations.

· Experience integrating websites with wider digital ecosystems (e.g. CRM, analytics, marketing automation, donation/payment platforms).

· Ability to operate effectively as both a hands‑on contributor and a senior technical advisor, balancing strategic oversight with practical delivery.

· Experience working in an agile environment using development workflow tools such as JIRA.

· Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders

Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

Summary of the Role
The Director of Development (DoD) provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all fundraising income and supporter engagement activity at DSWF. The role is accountable for delivering sustainable, diversified revenue growth aligned with DSWF’s mission across conservation, education and art, while building lasting relationships with major donors, trusts, foundations, corporate partners and senior supporters.

Working in close partnership with the CEO, COO, CFO, and Board of Trustees, the DoD translates organisational strategy into compelling Cases for Support, effective fundraising plans and measurable outcomes. The postholder leads and develops a high-performing Development team, ensuring strong delivery and continuous improvement.

As a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT), the Director shares responsibility for shaping the Foundation’s overall direction, contributing to governance, organisational culture and high-level strategic decision-making.

This is a pivotal position combining senior management with hands-on major gift fundraising and team leadership. Central to enabling the Foundation’s long-term impact and growth, the DoD is a driving force behind DSWF’s ability to successfully deliver its mission to protect endangered species in Africa and Asia.

Key responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
•Lead on the development, implementation, delivery and continuous refinement of DSWF’s multi-year Development strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and long-term financial sustainability.
•Advise the CEO and Trustees on fundraising performance, trends, risks and opportunities.
•Own and articulate the organisational Case/s for Support, ensuring a clear, compelling narrative that integrates conservation impact, education outcomes and artistic heritage.
•Working closely with the rest of the SMT, embed a culture of philanthropy across the organisation, enabling all team members, Trustees and ambassadors to actively support income generation.

Major & Strategic Fundraising
•Working closely with the CEO, cultivate, solicit and steward a portfolio of DSWF’s most significant donors and prospects, including major individual donors, trusts and foundations, legacy campaigns and strategic partners.
•Responsible, alongside the CEO, for the overall management of all corporate partnerships and sponsors.
•Design and lead bespoke solicitation strategies for new high-value prospects, involving the CEO, Trustees and senior colleagues as appropriate.
•Oversee the development of structured approaches to major giving, trusts & foundations, legacy giving and corporate partnerships.
•Have strategic oversight of lower-level individual giving programmes including appeals, regular individual giving and adoption schemes.

Team Leadership & Management
•Lead, manage and develop the Development team, setting clear objectives, KPIs and income targets aligned to the overall strategy.

•Coach and support all those within the organisation that are responsible for fundraising, providing professional leadership, mentoring and performance management.

Supporter Engagement
•Represent DSWF externally with senior donors, partners and sector peers, enhancing the organisation’s profile and credibility.
•Oversee a high-quality supporter journey across all touchpoints, ensuring donors feel valued, informed and connected to impact including lower-level individual giving.
•Champion systematic all level stewardship, donor care and impact reporting to maximise retention, lifetime value and advocacy.
•Ensure accurate, GDPR-compliant data capture and effective use of CRM systems (Beacon) to drive insight-led fundraising.

Events
•This senior role will have overall responsibility for any fundraising or donor profile events (at present this would include the Wildlife Ball which is an annual fundraising/profile raising event that takes place at the Dorchester Hotel).
•Working closely with the rest of SMT, this role will direct the Development team to ensure that all events deliver optimum, high level donor experiences and are run professionally (with logistics and operational support from the COO and team).
•This role will have overall responsibility for ensuring the CEO has all information required to support engagement with donors at all events.

Governance & Reporting
•Report on Development performance to the CEO, SMT and Trustees, providing clear analysis against agreed targets.
•Work closely with Finance to support forecasting, budgeting and long-term income planning.

About This Vacancy

We are looking for a motivated and organised Project Officer to join our International Programmes Team on a fixed-term basis for one year, covering a period of maternity leave.

Overview

The Project Officer will be part of a regional team that works with new and existing partners to design, deliver and learn from projects in line with the organisation’s mission. The team supports the full project cycle: partner engagement, application review, due diligence, project design, contracting, implementation support, monitoring, evaluation and project closure, maintaining accurate records throughout, in close collaboration with the Quality Team (Director and Quality Assurance and Impact (MEAL) Specialists).

The Project Officer will work collaboratively across the regional team, providing flexible support and surge capacity during peak periods and responding to emerging priorities as required. Under the supervision of Programme Managers and the Regional Director, they will also take day-to-day responsibility for a portfolio of assigned partners and specific projects, ensuring timely progression from concept to completion and that documentation, compliance, quality assurance and learning requirements are met. This includes working with the Quality Team to integrate appropriate MEAL approaches, support data quality and ensure learning is captured and shared.

·Project Identification and Evaluation

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Data Analyst sits within the MEAL team in Programme Quality and is responsible for strengthening ShelterBox's management, analysis and reporting of data to support effective decision-making, accountability to affected populations, and organisational learning.

The role ensures the accuracy, consistency and usability of programme data, supports robust analysis of reach and results, and delivers high-quality reporting through Power BI dashboards and accessible insights for project teams, senior leadership and trustees.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

ShelterBox is seeking a motivated and proactive individual with strong attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy. The role would suit someone with strong numerical aptitude, a curiosity for working with data, and a genuine commitment to learning and continuous improvement.

The postholder will enjoy analysing and interpreting data and will be motivated by using evidence to strengthen programme quality, learning and decision-making. Working across the project portfolio, they will collaborate closely with colleagues in multiple teams to support data-driven reflection and organisational learning.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:

Distribution Data and Reach Reporting 30% FTE

• In collaboration with MEAL Coordinators, clean, verify, and validate data sets before uploading them onto organisational reporting platforms.

• Ensure the datasets reflect the project plans and that participants receive assistance as intended.

• Review and compare registration and distribution lists and conduct verification exercises meeting organisational requirements.

• Support to standardise data, monitor and follow up on missing data and ensure timely submissions.

• Provide clarity on requirements for IT team members in the production of Power Bi reports

KPI reporting 15% FTE

Support the MEAL Coordinators with the timely quarterly reporting on accountability to the affected population of KPIs.

The 3 KPIs focus upon:

o Robust needs assessments informing project design

o Communication of project objectives and plans

o Efficacy of FCRM/complaints

· Liaise with MEAL Coordinators and manage the data sheets and the dashboards to ensure accessible reports for colleagues.

Project Data Analysis & Reporting 40% FTE

• Clean and analyse endline/PDM datasets to support the reporting against logframe indicators, identify trends, and enhance understanding and learning around project results and organisational performance.

• Provide quality assurance over programme data in internal project management system, helping to ensure it is being used correctly and has the right data.

• Make recommendations for future migration of data

Contribute to organisational learning 15% FTE

• Support the PQ team to distil and communicate learnings to ShelterBox colleagues, partner and beyond through the analysis of project data and drafting of reports.

Manchester Central Foodbank is a busy Trussell Trust-affiliated food bank, with centres in Central, North, and East Manchester. We were established in Ardwick in 2013 by students at the Manchester Universities’ Catholic Chaplaincy, making us the first student-led food bank in the country. Since then we have grown significantly, expanding our weekly sessions into Harpurhey and Openshaw.

Our core aims are to deliver the best quality support that we can to the largest number of our neighbours in need, while working with partners and influencing and organising at a neighbourhood and citywide level to reduce and end the need for food banks in Manchester.

We currently support 16,000 people per year with nutritionally balanced 3-day food parcels. This is double the number of people we supported in the first year following the Covid-19 pandemic, and four times the number supported in 2019. We also provide financial inclusion support with advice workers in public sessions, access to energy vouchers, SIM cards, and other voucher or material support. Key responsibilities
As Chief Executive Officer you will be the key senior staff leader for the charity. You will lead the team to ensure they have the resources, frameworks, and support to effect smooth day-to-day running of our frontline support service. • Develop and build a new Delivery Strategy with the Chair of Trustees and Operations and Project Lead.

• Support the Operations and Project Lead and Warehouse and Logistics Coordinator to safely store and maintain optimal stock levels, maximise food donation levels and reduce food spend, develop and maintain relationships with community donors, and record incoming and outgoing stock, with the aim of ensuring that all centres are well stocked to provide as many varied, balanced, and nutritious and culturally-appropriate food parcels as necessary.

• Ensure compliance with the procedures set out in Manchester Central Foodbank’s policies, the Trussell Trust’s Operating Manual, and relevant statutory requirements at all times.

• Ensure our food bank centres provide a safe and dignified environment for clients, free from discrimination, judgement, and stigma.

Strategy and External Relationships:

• Working with the Chair of Trustees on development, monitoring, and implementation of the core charity strategy and sub-strategies. About you

The Role

The Regional Programme Director — Asia will provide strategic leadership for the development and delivery of Barnabas Aid's grant making and project management across the Asia Region. You will lead and develop a team of Programme Managers, build and sustain a strong partner network, and oversee a portfolio of high-quality, biblically grounded projects that deliver measurable impact for persecuted and suffering Christians.

As a member of both the Programmes Leadership Team and the Strategic Leadership Team, you will contribute to BAI's global Programmes strategy and to organisational strategy, culture, and effective cross-departmental working.

Key Responsibilities

Regional strategy and portfolio leadership

• In collaboration with the International Chief Programmes Officer, lead the development, review, and implementation of the global Programmes strategy within the assigned Region, translating strategic priorities into a clear regional plan and pipeline.
• Maintain a balanced regional portfolio aligned with organisational priorities, donor intent, and restricted fund requirements.

You will build strong experience in a Learning and Development operational role within a national volunteer network. You will develop skills in problem solving, service improvements and stakeholder management. You will also gain exposure to SSAFA’s Learning Management System and to general system and process design.

You will have the opportunity to improve the volunteer learning experience by streamlining processes and communications and help to shape how learning is promoted and accessed, as well as supporting the delivery and access to a variety of training events.

This is a varied role with the chance to support volunteers who make meaningful differences to beneficiaries lives each day.

You will join a supportive, collaborative team focused on delivering high quality training with a strong mix of skills across training design, delivery, digital learning and operations. A team that values ideas, continuous improvements and practical solutions.

You will bring a mix of organisational, people skills and a proactive mindset. You will bring a problem solving approach, with the ability to improve process and learner experience, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities. You will have experience in Learning and Development, events, administration or similar activities.

We’re looking for an Alumni & Professional Engagement Coordinator to strengthen relationships across our alumni and professional community. This role focuses on retention, engagement, and lifecycle support, ensuring graduates remain connected, supported, and actively involved in Metanoia’s work.

• Deliver alumni engagement activities (events, communications, mentoring)
• Coordinate alumni involvement in CPD, knowledge exchange, and outreach
• Manage membership processes, professional registrations, and enquiries
• Maintain accurate CRM/database records and produce engagement reports
• Support alumni as ambassadors and contributors to Metanoia activity
• Assist with CPD and professional events (online and in-person)
