Job Title: Member and Supporter Experience Officer (summer placement)
Team: Member and Supporter Experience
Location: Hybrid (split between home-working and London. London attendance on Tuesdays)
Duration: 3 months (2 July – 6 October)

*This role sits within a pay grade with a pay range of £25,813 to £33,052, The salary on appointment will be set at the lower end of the pay range, to a maximum of £28,394 depending on the candidate's skills and experience. This approach aims to ensure fair compensation for new hires while maintaining alignment with the structured pay scale for the role.

Context and purpose of role
At the Ramblers, we are committed to providing our supporters with the very best experience possible, placing the Member and Supporter Experience Team at the heart of our operations. The team acts as the first line of support for members and supporters, responding to enquiries, managing interactions, and deepening engagement with the Ramblers.
This short-term placement provides hands-on experience in delivering excellent supporter service at the Ramblers. The postholder will support the Member and Supporter Experience team in responding to enquiries, maintaining supporter data, and contributing to improvements in the supporter journey.
Key responsibilities
Supporter Engagement
Respond to supporter enquiries via phone, letter, email and social media in a timely and professional manner, and with professionalism, empathy and attention to detail.
Escalate complex, safeguarding and complaint-related enquiries appropriately.
Listen and respond to the needs of each supporter, understanding their motivations and experiences to foster long-term relationships.
Acknowledge and thank donations and other payments in a timely and personalised manner.
Payment processing
Process and manage in-bound financial payments in an accurate and timely manner
Investigate and resolve any payment issues, liaising with supporters and the payment processor as needed.
Data integrity and CRM Management
Maintain accurate records of interactions, transactions, comments, and complaints in the CRM system in accordance with data protection and Gift Aid Legislation.
Support key supporter administration tasks (e.g. welcome pack data send)
Problem-solving and complaints handling
Investigate and resolve low-level issues or complaints, liaising with other colleagues as required and keep supporters informed throughout the process.
Handle complex technical enquiries related to our digital tools such as app, website, insight hub, with support from the team.
Manage feedback and complaints, following established procedure with a focus on turning negative experiences into positive ones.
Volunteer support
Provide support to office volunteers, ensuring they feel values and supported to carry out their tasks effectively.
Other
Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required of the post.

We are investing in a new website platform that will provide an improved user experience, be built and operated using modern Tech (e.g. React, headless CMS, CI/CD) and be a foundation for continued future optimisation. The website will unlock the ability to attract more users (via increased visibility on search engines and repeat visits) and increase the number of people donating online for a cure.
This role will be the senior technology team member on the new website project team, ensuring that the solution designed and delivered primarily by our website development partner is using modern approaches and tools. In addition, this person will actively take part in the development and test of the website platform and ultimately be the internal technical owner of the platform for ARUK.
The post holder will report into the CIO but work day to day with the Digital Engagement team to deliver the new website platform.

· Act as the internal technical owner of the new website platform, providing strong technical leadership, governance, and assurance across its design, build, and operation.

· Own and make key technical design decisions, ensuring the website platform:

Knowledge, skills and experience needed:
· Strong professional experience as a senior software engineer / lead software engineer working on modern website or digital platforms.
· Ideally a full stack engineer with strong front-end skills (our main languages/ frameworks are React and Python/Django).
· Proven experience with modern front‑end and web architectures, including:
o React (or comparable modern JavaScript frameworks).
o Headless CMS and API‑driven architectures.
o CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices.
· Experience acting as a technical owner or lead for an app or website.
· Experience working with modern code management tools e.g. github, bitbucket) and of version control/code branching approaches.
· Experience using AI tools to improve engineering efficiency e.g. Cursor, Claude code, github copilot.
· Knowledge of code build and deployment processes
· Solid understanding of cloud‑hosted, scalable, and secure web platforms, including performance, resilience, and security considerations.
· Experience integrating websites with wider digital ecosystems (e.g. CRM, analytics, marketing automation, donation/payment platforms).
· Ability to operate effectively as both a hands‑on contributor and a senior technical advisor, balancing strategic oversight with practical delivery.
· Experience working in an agile environment using development workflow tools such as JIRA.

Thousands of older people living in care homes receive few or no visitors. Friends for Life Bedfordshire exists to change that.
Through our befriending and group activities, we bring companionship, connection and meaningful relationships to care home residents across Bedford and the surrounding area.
We are now looking for a Fundraiser to help secure and grow the income that makes this work possible.
About Friends for Life Bedfordshire
We are a Bedford-based charity working to address the social isolation of older residents in Bedfordshire’s care homes.
Founded in 2007, we have grown from a small local initiative to a registered charity with c90 volunteers supporting more than 30 care homes across Bedford Borough. In the last year, over 1,100 care home residents received our services.
The Role
This is a pivotal role for the charity. It is key to the delivery of our business plan and growth aspirations.
You will take ownership of fundraising and income generation, ensuring we have the resources to sustain and grow our impact.
You will lead on grant fundraising whilst also developing community and individual giving, and delivering engaging fundraising events.
This is a hands-on role in a small organisation, so you will have real ownership and visibility. You will shape our fundraising strategy and directly influence how many residents we can reach.
This role is suited to someone who is both strategic and practical — someone who can develop the fundraising strategy and the plan to deliver this, but is equally comfortable writing applications, building relationships and making things happen.

We are looking for 1 part time Duty Worker to join the expansion of the St Mungo’s Bristol Accommodation Service. You will be working across dispersed semi-independent accommodation in Bristol. Our residents are male and female living in shared and self-contained properties.
Our accommodation service provides accommodation and housing related support to people who may have complex needs, including multiple challenges such as physical and mental health issues, substance use and a history of trauma. We are dedicated to providing a safe, high quality and inclusive service to people while they are living in supported accommodation, and a positive move-on into independent housing.
You will join a dynamic team, taking part in the renewal of the service, helping us to provide a psychologically-informed environment and a supportive and secure place where our residents can make meaningful life changes.

About you

About the role
Working closely with the Lendwithcare Marketing Manager, the Lendwithcare Marketing Executive will deliver an exciting range of supporter communications and fundraising campaigns to drive loan funding and increase donations. In addition, the role will oversee the approval of up to 600 loan profiles published to the Lendwithcare website each month. This will include working closely with Lendwithcare colleagues to ensure a steady supply of profiles from local partners and growing a team of remote volunteers to edit the text provided to a high standard. The Lendwithcare Marketing Executive will play a crucial role in helping Lendwithcare to drive both loan funding and donations to support CARE’s mission across both acquisition and retention. This means working across both paid advertising campaigns (including Meta), key supporter emails, and other channels as required.

Working collaboratively with local partners, you’ll play a key role in helping people build a stable and hopeful future.
About you:
You’ll bring experience of working with people facing homelessness, mental health challenges, or other complex needs, alongside a genuine belief that everyone deserves a safe place to call home. You’ll be resilient, empathetic, and able to work both independently and as part of a wider team. Strong communication skills are essential, as is a full driving licence and access to a vehicle, given the rural nature of the role.
