This is a role for someone bringing significant operational management experience, ideally within the charity/NGO and human rights sector. You will be a strategic thinker with excellent organisational skills and able to manage multiple priorities effectively. The Head of Operations will provide leadership in all operational matters, supporting the organisation's mission and long-term objectives, supporting ATLEU’s growth, resilience, and sustainability as well as building a flexible and supportive environment that enables the ATLEU team to do the challenging work that they do.
This role is managed by, and works closely with the Chief Executive. You will be a member of ATLEU’s Senior Management team and work closely with and supervise the work of the People & Inclusion Manager (recently started in post), the Operations & Projects Coordinator, the Project Manager and Philanthropy Manager. The Operations team is a small team that works collaboratively to ensure all areas are covered at all times. As such, you will be willing to chip in and take on tasks of other team members if urgent matters arise or when providing holiday cover.
We are looking for a positive, detail-oriented, creative thinker and problem solver who will build on our reputation for innovation and excellence. You will have a track record of achievement in this field and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong financial and business acumen. You will have experience of and confidence in overseeing a wide remit of cross cutting functions including finance, human resources, office management, information technology and governance and compliance. You will be comfortable learning and acting upon complex and technical information. This role will suit someone who enjoys working with people, is comfortable with autonomy and who thrives in a role which is fast-paced and where no two days are the same. Job description
The Head of Facilities & Safety Governance provides strategic and operational leadership for the Union’s facilities functions, ensuring the delivery of excellent services to students, staff, and the public, while developing these services in line with the Union’s strategies and objectives.
This role holds the professional responsibility for service standards, Health & Safety Governance, budget control, compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements, and clear assurance reporting to the Board of Trustees and Union committees.
This post holder will lead the Union’s Facilities Management service, overseeing external contracts like cleaning, security and pest control. They will ensure full compliance in Health and safety, manage reactive repairs, and guarantee buildings are safe, fit for purpose and in excellent condition providing an outstanding work environment including agile office spaces and excellent commercial and student activity spaces.

The Senior Programme Development Specialist leads the design of complex proposals – including bids £20m+ and FCDO commercial contracts. About the role
As the Senior Programme Development Specialist, you will manage a pipeline of institutional funding opportunities and be responsible for securing a significant proportion of CIUK’s restricted income. You will work in partnership with CARE country offices, national and international partners, finance colleagues, and technical advisory teams to identify, scope, bid for and secure new funding for programmes through both grant and commercial contract modalities. You will deliver a high-quality bidding process, submitting applications to funders such as FCDO, DEC, START Fund, Education Cannot Wait, Jersey Overseas Aid Committee, and Power of Nutrition. You will build learning from existing CARE programmes into bid design and design programmes in line with CARE policies and standards, as well as donor standards.
About you
You are a passionate and experienced funding specialist, with a proven track record in fundraising from key UK donors – including solid experience of commercial bidding and FCDO frameworks, trusts and foundations and corporate donors. You will have the ability to lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams during proposal preparation, working with partners and colleagues in multiple locations. You have experience in and very good understanding of programme design and meeting institutional and corporate donor requirements. You have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. You are capable of building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders; you are a positive collaborator and a strong team player.
