We are looking for a proactive self-starter to sit within a high-performing team working to raise awareness of SSAFA’s support in the South West Region of England to those in the Armed Forces Community who need it most.

With the ultimate objective being to grow SSAFA’s presence, profile, and identity, the role is responsible for all marcomms activation in the region. The role holder will work to deliver the central Fundraising, Marketing & Communications strategy.

This role reports to the Head of Communications with close alignment with colleagues across the marcomms directorate. The marcomms manager will be responsible for managing marketing campaigns in the South West Region of England and promoting SSAFA’s fundraising initiatives and services. You’ll identify the areas of greatest impact and cut through, deliver integrated awareness campaigns and secure media coverage of fundraising events. Crucially, you’ll be able to identify stories which resonate with our target audience and write calls to action.

With a heavy focus on media and PR activity, key to the role is building strong relationships and contacts with relevant stakeholders in your region including media representatives, employees, volunteers, and case study beneficiaries.

About the team

The Communications team is a small but dynamic group of individuals with strong skillsets across Public Relations, Storytelling (case studies) and Internal Communications. The team is a mix of ex-forces and civilians, and they are always sharing knowledge and expertise with each other.

You will work closely across all directorates within SSAFA, with a focus in South West, to garner information and create compelling marcomms campaigns and activities to raise awareness of SSAFA’s work.

You will be a highly motivated and creative communicator with a proven track record of delivering impactful PR and marketing campaigns. As a natural storyteller with strong media instincts, you will excel at securing high-profile coverage and elevating our brand presence. Citadel is a volunteer-powered homelessness prevention project that supports people experiencing, or at risk of homelessness, to find a place to live, settle into a home, and feel part of a welcoming and supportive community. Coordinators recruit and train volunteers before matching them with a person referred for support. Coordinators and volunteers work closely with people who have been referred, to establish what matters to them and how best they can support them.

Housing Justice brings together communities and finds solutions to homelessness by building personal connections, a sense of belonging, and creating justice in the housing system. We train and support volunteers to offer various accommodation options while building a network of local support. This includes providing personalised assistance to help individuals access relevant local services and address their other needs. About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to oversee the daily operation of the Mind BLMK Luton Mental Health Prevention and Recovery Service.

Based at our Luton Wellbeing Centre the service provides a range of activities, groups and support opportunities throughout the week, helping people to manage their mental health, build confidence and progress through their own recovery journeys.

The Service Manager role is varied and rewarding, ensuing the smooth running of the service and playing a key role in shaping and enhancing the service to ensure it continues to meet the needs of the local community. Working in line with Mind BLMK values, you will monitor performance and drive service improvement, promote the service across the area, and build strong partnerships with local organisations, community groups, and key stakeholders.

You will oversee referrals into the service, lead on the assessment of more complex cases to determine suitability, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred support. You will also provide day to day leadership and supervision to the staff, volunteers, and student team, while maintaining responsibility for the health, safety, and management of the Luton Wellbeing Centre and its facilities.

Service Delivery Includes

Operate a service and ensure outcomes which supports individuals to deescalate crisis and develop strategies for recovery and increased wellbeing, in line with Mind BLMKs Recovery Model and contract requirements and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).

Work with the Operational Services Manager to review, design and implement changes to service delivery and working models, ensuring the service meets the needs of the local community, identifying solutions to gaps in provision and seek opportunities to grow the service and maximise the use of the centre premises.

Contribute to the development of the Luton service plan in line with both Mind BLMK priorities and the wider Luton Mental Health Plan and 2040 vision.

We are looking for a Digital Learning and Engagement Lead to shape and deliver the digital experience for a UK-wide, government-funded programme supporting around 700 students entering the electronics and semiconductor sector.

You’ll be working within a small, collaborative charity delivering a high-impact national programme. This is not a traditional “content” or “platform admin” role.It is about designing an experience that students actively participate in, return to, and feel part of. You will take ownership of how digital engagement works across the programme, helping to create a connected, high-quality experience at national scale.

What you’ll be responsible for

You will own and evolve the digital learning and engagement experience, including:

Platform

• Leading the selection and implementation of a digital learning/engagement platform (LMS/LXP or similar)
• Configuring and managing the platform to ensure it is intuitive and effective

Engagement design

• Designing how students engage with learning content so that it drives participation, not just access
• Developing approaches that encourage students to return, interact and remain connected to the cohort throughout the programme lifecycle 

Content and delivery

• Delivering and managing digital content, including webinars, recorded sessions and curated materials
• Structuring content in a way that supports ongoing engagement

Cohort experience

• Building a sense of community and belonging across a national cohort
• Encouraging interaction and participation beyond scheduled events

Insight and improvement

• Tracking engagement and understanding behaviour patterns
• Identifying drop-off points and introducing improvements
• Using data and feedback to continuously refine the experience

Collaboration

• Working closely with the Communications team to align with wider messaging and campaigns
• Collaborating with programme colleagues to connect digital and in-person activity

What we’re looking for

We are particularly interested in people who can demonstrate:

• Experience designing engaging digital or cohort-based experiences, communities or learning journeys
• A strong understanding of how to encourage ongoing participation and engagement across a distributed audience
• Experience working with digital learning platforms (LMS/LXP or similar), community platforms or digital engagement tools
• The ability to work independently and take ownership in a fast-moving environment
• Confidence using data and insight to improve engagement

You might have developed this experience through roles in learning and development, digital engagement, community building, or product/platform roles.

Experience with cohort-based programmes, digital communities, or engagement analytics would be particularly valuable.

Your primary focus will be to agree and meet fundraising targets by developing new relationships with corporates, trusts, foundations, and individuals. You will be responsible for building a robust fundraising pipeline, creating a long-term development strategy, and embedding an efficient and effective fundraising function within the organisation.

The Fundraising Manager is a key role responsible for securing the income that will allow Merton Giving to fulfil its ambitions. 

Who We Are

Merton Connected strengthens the voluntary, community and faith sector and supports charitable organisations across the borough through training, advice, volunteering and partnership building. We pioneered social prescribing in Merton, now embedded in every GP practice for over a decade. We also deliver Healthwatch Merton, the Home Visits Library and Merton Giving.

Merton Giving is our collaborative grant-giving programme through which we work with local people and organisations to raise funds that are distributed to local community organisations to tackle issues identified by local people. We bring together businesses, residents, community projects and other stakeholders and foster strong relationships, in order to unlock the potential of the borough and make Merton a place grounded in social justice, where people feel they belong, have what they need to live well, and are proud to call home.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Fundraising and Strategy

• Work with the Strategic Lead to develop and implement a fundraising strategy, including agreed income targets)
• Proactively build and manage a solid pipeline of funding applications and approaches.
• Establish, cultivate, and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing funders, including corporates, trusts & foundations, high-net-worth individuals and the statutory sector.
• Work with the Strategic Lead to identify and take opportunities to engage and develop relationships with Merton’s businesses and High Net Worth individuals.
• Work with the Merton Connected team to explore how to maximise sector benefit from corporate volunteering and in-kind support.
• Write compelling funding applications and manage reporting requirements.
• Create and manage an efficient office system and processes for the fundraising function.

Publicity and marketing

• Promote Merton Giving to stakeholders through producing promotional material, maintaining the website, and social media
• Run events and identify opportunities to promote Merton Giving, especially to businesses and HNWs
• Work with the Grants Manager to collect impact stories from grant recipients for publicity

Partnership Development

• Work with the Strategic Lead to develop partnerships, and identify opportunities for added value and mutual benefit, such as promoting Merton Giving through the Council’s payroll giving scheme.
• Act as an ambassador for Merton Giving, representing the organisation at external events and meetings

Additional Responsibilities

• Ensure all fundraising activities are aligned with Merton Giving/Merton Connected aims and values.
• Occasionally work outside of normal office hours to support Merton Giving events and activities.
• Support with organisational tasks as required in a small, dynamic team.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential:

• Proven experience in fundraising, with a track record of securing income exceeding £300,000 a year from a diverse range of sources (corporates, trusts, individuals, and statutory sector).
• Demonstrable experience in building and managing strong relationships and partnerships with funders and stakeholders.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in writing persuasive funding applications and reports.
• Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to develop and implement long-term fundraising plans.
• The ability to influence people through persuasive argument
• Excellent planning, organisational, and project management skills, including the ability to work to deadlines.

We are looking for motivated, value-driven advocates to join a new, innovative community-based Gender-Based Abuse service in Southwark. This is not a traditional domestic abuse support role. You will support people of all genders affected by gender-based abuse and help shape a service built around prevention, creativity, and community voice. The ethos of the service is to ensure that we are front facing and out in the community to meet clients in spaces that are safe and accessible, as well as our offices.

The Role

We are looking for three people in total:

2 x IGVAs: You will work directly with people in community settings, carrying out risk and needs assessments, creating safety plans, and using trauma-informed and coaching approaches. You’ll be part of a fast-paced, dynamic team working in new and flexible ways.

1 x ISVA: You will work with individuals impacted by sexual abuse and VAWG.

As this is a community-based role, candidates will need to be flexible, confident working across different settings, and understand how to be engaging and approachable.

About You
