The Marketing Officer/Senior Marketing Officer (Acquisition) at CBM UK is an important role in making our life-changing work possible. Advertised at Officer or Senior Officer level (subject to experience), the role delivers direct and digital marketing communications to grow awareness, and recruit and engage with new long-term CBM supporters, through creative and impactful fundraising communications.
Key responsibilities:
The position holder is responsible for developing and delivering fundraising campaigns that will engage with CBM target individual audiences; supporting the development of the annual public fundraising plan; building supporter journeys and testing new channels and messages.

About the role:
As Interim Executive Director, you'll be deputy to the CEO and a core member of our Senior Leadership Team. Responsibilities
Strategy & Leadership
Provide executive leadership to the organisation, fostering a high-performance, inclusive and values-led culture aligned with the charity’s mission.

Provide executive oversight of HR, demonstrating knowledge of HR compliance and law, supporting with serious HR matters and providing leadership support on people matters, performance management and staff development.
Oversee the use of key technology platforms, ensuring that the charity is operating in the most efficient way, in accordance with UK GDPR and promoting data hygiene and security and supporting the Operations officer to develop guides and standard operating procedures
Hold executive accountability for organisational compliance, risk management, and operational integrity. Act as the lead for the charity in the event of a serious data or H&S incident.
Lead the organisational risk register and risk management, ensuring risks are proactively identified, mitigated, managed and communicated to our board of Trustees and the CEO
Maintain awareness of relevant policy, legislative, regulatory, and sector developments, ensuring organisational readiness and compliance.
Work closely with the CEO and chair of the Resource Committee to set the agenda and plan for papers for this committee (3 times a year).
Act as the key contact with the landlord and the charity’s IT contractors, as and when required
Income Generation, Partnerships and Communication:
Oversee the coordination and delivery of key fundraising activities, supporting the organisation’s income generation through strategic oversight and targeted input where required. Lead and line manage the Fundraising and Development Lead.
Play a key role in planning and delivering the 10-year anniversary event in May 2027.
Develop, manage, and strengthen high-level strategic funder relationships and networks, building a strong pipeline of partnerships to support income targets.
Lead and line manage the Schools and Partnerships Lead to achieve ambitious school targets and secure positive partnerships with schools
Utilise the organisation’s data systems to identify relevant insights and stories, leading the development of the 2026 Impact Report.
Work with the external Marketing Provider and Schools and Partnerships Lead to deliver the organisation’s communications strategy to maintain a strong digital and online presence
Finance & Sustainability
Hold accountability for the operational delivery and financial sustainability of the charity.
Work closely with the CEO and external Financial Service Provider to develop organisational budgets, support with the annual independent examiner and ensure effective financial planning, management, and oversight.
Ensure financial performance, risks, and forecasts are clearly and appropriately communicated to the CEO, Board.
Support income sustainability by aligning delivery with funding strategy and identifying opportunities for growth and partnership.
Act as main liaison between the charity and the Financial Service Provider, ensuring that both the charity and contractor adhere to the organisation's financial procedures
Personal Specification
Strategic Leadership & Drive
Proven senior leadership experience at director level or equivalent in the charity, public, or social sector, including leading teams and engaging boards.
Organisational governance
Financial acumen; comfortable owning budgets, managing forecasts, approving payments and communicating financial health clearly to the board.
Sound knowledge of charity governance, HR, GDPR, risk management, and regulatory compliance.

Philanthropy and Partnerships fundraising at Alzheimer's Research UK has grown significantly over recent years. The Directorate has a strong track record of soliciting seven-figure donations and winning significant corporate partnerships with well-known and well-loved brands such as Omaze, Cadbury, Warburtons, Roadchef and Dobbies.
We are now building upon this success and have launched a new, significant fundraising campaign. This campaign will help drive further transformational growth, from income across major donors, trusts and foundations, and corporate partners. Ultimately, it will help us fund cutting-edge research that will bring forward the day when we can diagnose, treat and prevent dementia.
As part of Alzheimer’s Research UK’s Leadership Team, and working closely with the senior stakeholders across ARUK, the Head of Philanthropy will lead the organisation’s work with our philanthropy audiences (namely major donors, trusts and foundations). Under the banner of the new campaign, the Head of Philanthropy will define and implement the team’s strategy, ensuring it supports the charity’s vision, mission and strategic objectives.
The Head of Philanthropy will lead a Directorate of approximately 8-10 people and line manage three team members (namely the Philanthropy Executive and two Philanthropy Managers).
The role holder will also personally lead on relationships with a small group of ARUK’s most generous supporters, and prospective supporters, across Philanthropy audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy, finance and reporting
· Work with the Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships and Partnerships to lead on the strategy for the Philanthropy Team, including leading on the Ops plan, budgeting and strategy for the team.
· Grow Philanthropy income at Alzheimer’s Research UK, in line with agreed targets and expenditure.
· Monitor progress against targets, adjusting as necessary.
· Provide direction, guidance and support across the Philanthropy team.
· Evaluate reporting methods across the team and ensure they facilitate the accurate recording of the Philanthropy team’s fundraising activities.

Fundraising
· Manage a small portfolio of key current and prospective donors, building strategic relationships at the very highest level and delivering six and seven-figure gifts.
· Build a network of Senior Volunteers, working with the Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships to ensure the team are maximising the opportunities available through our President, Chair and other senior stakeholders.
· Develop a thorough understanding of ARUK’s projects, policies and activities to enable you to articulate the mission of our work and inspire people to join us.
· Present and pitch to potential supporters and donors, managing high-level meetings where relevant and engaging other appropriate senior representation when needed.
· Ensure high-quality management of existing supporter relationships, making sure supporters find giving to ARUK rewarding and enjoyable.
· Tailor and develop Cases for Support to attract support for the work of ARUK’s projects.
· Manage and attend events and meetings with external representatives and involving the Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships, CEO and other colleagues and volunteers.
· Work with senior and scientific staff, empowering them to build relationships with current and prospective supporters.
· Explore the opportunities for cross-team working, especially, but not limited to the Corporate Fundraising and Celebrity teams.
Line Management and people management
· Inspire, motivate, challenge and support individuals and teams within the Philanthropy team. Promote collaborative working across the team and with other teams across the charity, developing a culture of innovation, openness, accountability and resourcefulness.
· Line manage three members of staff, namely two Philanthropy Managers and the Donor Relations Manager, actively empowering, coaching and supporting them to develop their teams’ operational plans and deliver on key priorities.
· Set clear goals, objectives and KPIs for each team member and provide them with the ongoing guidance and support they need to reach them.
· Role model and actively embed Alzheimer’s Research UK values and behaviours across all activities, and champion the principles of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
· Provide strong leadership and support to the Philanthropy Team, through coaching, mentoring and developing individuals to enable them to effectively carry out their role. Carry out performance appraisal meetings and effectively promote team building and collaborative working to deliver the strategic and operational plans.
· Ensure all Philanthropy and Partnerships activity is conducted to the highest standards and in line with the strategic priorities, developing consistent and rigorous methods for measuring success and sharing knowledge/outcomes across the team, department, and wider charity.
Communications
· Work closely with the Finance team to ensure all grants are correctly allocated and used, and conditions met
· Liaise and work with the Research team and the Communications team to produce accurate and timely reports and applications
· Stay up to date with ARUK’s research and other news to be able to communicate effectively with supporters, disseminating the charity’s key messages both among the team and to key supporters.
Knowledge, skills and experience needed:
· Demonstrable knowledge and experience of major gift fundraising.
· Thorough understanding of managing a team of fundraisers.

What the job involves
We’re looking for a Health Intelligence Analyst to join our Health Intelligence team, you’ll deliver high-quality health data analysis that helps shape our influencing, communications and strategic activity. You’ll work closely with colleagues across our Data and Evidence team and the wider directorate to deliver our in-house real-world data projects and turn complex information into clear, actionable insight, for example understanding health inequalities and informing regional targeting and monitoring from cancer registrations data.
In this role, you’ll regularly monitor, analyse and interpret a wide range of healthcare data sources, using a variety of statistical methods to support ongoing projects and inform organisational priorities. You’ll lead defined analysis projects or key components of larger programmes of work, using statistical software to explore trends, outcomes and variation in health data. A key part of the role involves evaluating the impact of health influencing campaigns, sharing what we’ve learned and making recommendations that support future planning and decision making.

What we want from you
You’re an analytical and curious individual with experience of working with real-world health data, including linking, cleaning and modelling datasets using statistical software such as R, Python or Stata. With a good understanding of basic epidemiological concepts and population health measures, you’ll also be familiar with both aggregated and patient-level data sources in health and social care. You’re comfortable using Microsoft Excel and moving between different data tools and formats.
You’re able to interpret complex information, assess data quality and identify gaps, and you enjoy turning analysis into clear, meaningful insight that others can act on. You communicate well, both verbally and in writing, and you’re confident sharing findings with a range of stakeholders while maintaining credibility as part of an evidence-led organisation.
Ideally, you’ll also bring experience or knowledge of more advanced statistical methods in health, such as regression, survival analysis or forecasts, or experience developing dashboards using tools like Tableau, Power BI or R Shiny. Exposure to stakeholder management, contributing to publications or presenting analytical findings would also be an advantage.

Barnardo's is seeking an empathetic and child led individual who can work within a dynamic and fast-paced environment using their strong organisational, communication and time management skills to support children in the secure estate.
This part-time position (Children's Rights and Advocacy Worker – Project Worker 2) is based within Oakhill Secure Training Centre, which accommodates children aged between 12-18 years, who are in custody, either sentenced or on remand. Barnardo's refers to Young Offender Institutions (YOI) and Secure Training Centres (STC) as the ‘Secure Estate'.
Barnardo's is commissioned by the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) to provide an Independent Children's Rights and Advocacy (ICRAS) Service to children accommodated in a secure setting. The service is known to children as Barnardo's: Your Rights, Your Voice, and currently works within four Young Offender Institutes, one Secure Training Centre and one Secure Children's home. The ICRAS service is child led and independent of the secure estate; our service is delivered within Oakhill STC to ensure children can freely access support for a range of issues linked to their needs, rights & experiences of custody, resettlement, and safeguarding. As such this is a child-facing service, and at times involves lone working in the establishments, so we are seeking someone who can see the child, not the offence.
We hold ‘voice' at the heart of all we do, therefore we feel the role is best described by someone who is currently working in this sector: “The role is a Children's Rights and Advocacy role, which means it is our job to empower the children we work with and help them to understand that what they think, what they feel and what they want, really matters. We can speak on behalf of children to ensure their voice is heard and we also have the opportunity to help them to find the tools and confidence to raise their voices for themselves. The position (Children's Rights and Advocacy Worker – Project Worker 2) is line managed by a Team Manager, reporting to an off-site manager. The post holder will need to be able to work autonomously, working to the requirements of the contract and the regime of the STC. The secure estate is a highly structured environment; as a Barnardo's service we deliver independent advocacy and support for a range of issues, whilst still having to follow and adhere to this structure.
This role includes lone working in this challenging secure environment. It is, therefore, critical that the successful candidate can follow guidance and policy and is able to take proactive and individual responsibility to understand and access the service support mechanisms. This role requires the worker to be onsite for their contracted hours, working remotely only for occasional training or meetings. The advocacy team work on a rota system with set hours each week, which includes weekends and bank holidays. Applicants should also be aware, that due to the nature of working within secure estate, the vetting and induction process can take several months to complete.

The Legacy & In Memory (LIM) Marketing Team is responsible for increasing awareness and consideration for gifts in wills and/or an in memory gift. The team develop and deliver cross- funnel and multi-channel legacy consideration campaigns, supporter journeys and engage staff in the cross promotion of gifts in wills and in memory giving.
Our legacy income is growing, and the activities the LIM Marketing Team delivers is leading to long-term income growth to ensure that future generations around the world can change their lives with clean water.
