Gareth Stacey House and Lansworth House are our 24-hour supported housing services in central Brighton and Hove offering high levels of housing-related support for young people aged 16-25 with multiple and complex needs. The services have 15 and 20 bedspaces respectively, with shared communal facilities; the services support young people to manage their daily living activities in areas including finances and budgeting, developing life and work skills, and managing self-care.

We adopt a trauma informed and psychologically informed approach to supporting our residents to help them build essential life skills, identify their goals and work towards aspirations so that they can move on to enjoy fully independent futures.

We are looking for a Housing Night Worker to join our teams across Lansworth House and Gareth Stacey House, working flexibly between both sites to ensure young people are safe.

You will respond promptly to any reported incidents, accidents, or concerns, carrying out thorough checks and taking appropriate action to ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone on site. You will also take a proactive approach to preventing anti‑social behaviour, working closely with support staff to maintain a positive environment. In addition, you will carry out one‑to‑one interventions with young people who may be experiencing a mental health crisis or who require medical assistance, ensuring they receive timely and appropriate support.

Main areas of responsibilities are:

Safety and security

• Provide a friendly, professional presence and ensure the building remains safe, secure and welcoming at night.
• Support resident wellbeing by upholding health and safety procedures, house rules and tenancy requirements.
• Monitor risks and respond to incidents calmly and appropriately, recording and reporting to the relevant teams. 

Resident engagement

• Welcome residents and offer informal, responsive assistance to help them develop confidence, independence and life skills.
• Encourage residents to share their views and engage with available services and opportunities.
• Assist with evening groupwork sessions that promote learning, wellbeing and positive development.

Administration and housekeeping

• Complete essential admin tasks including data entry, case notes and record management.
• Carry out routine health and safety, compliance and room checks.
• Log maintenance issues to ensure the building remains safe and well maintained.

General

• Work collaboratively on a four‑on, four‑off rota, providing consistent, non‑judgemental support overnight.
• Maintain a calm, professional approach and handle challenging situations effectively.
• Take part in ongoing training and reflective practice to support psychologically informed care.

This role involves lone working, so you will need to be confident in decision‑making and in following procedures. However, before joining the rota, you will have the opportunity to get to know the team and services, take part in a full induction, complete the required training, and undertake shadow shifts to ensure you feel confident, supported, and well prepared.

The role involves supporting service users from referral through admission, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met while collaborating with clinical teams for smooth transitions. Staff provide activities and interventions to help reduce crises, identify triggers, and create safety plans that promote mental health and prevent hospital admissions. One-on-one sessions are conducted to develop wellness recovery action plans, set SMART goals, and build social networks, alongside practical life skills training such as food preparation. Staff also liaise with statutory and voluntary agencies, deliver post-admission welfare support, and maintain high living standards between admissions, all while engaging in professional development to address challenges like self-harm and substance use.

The position emphasizes teamwork, co-production, and administrative duties. Staff collaborate with Recovery Workers and management to deliver a team-based approach, promote services, and support user engagement in peer-led activities and forums. They are responsible for maintaining accurate service user records, monitoring service upkeep, ensuring health and safety compliance, and working with multi-agency providers under governance protocols. Additionally, they contribute to developing service standards, follow policies and legislation, report maintenance issues, and undertake additional duties as required, always upholding health and safety rules and procedures.

Here's what the team will be looking for

The role requires demonstrable experience supporting people with mental health and complex needs, along with a strong understanding of recovery approaches and co-production. Staff should be able to design and deliver activities that reduce anxiety, build confidence, and support individuals in creating their own recovery journeys. This includes engaging service users in assessments, co-producing and reviewing support and safety plans, and maintaining accurate monitoring records for internal use and external reporting. A good knowledge of legislation, including welfare reform, the Care Act, and housing pathways, is essential, as well as the ability to handle financial transactions accurately and use IT systems, including MS Office and case management tools.

Flexibility and resilience are also key, with the need to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, while maintaining high service standards in unpredictable or challenging situations. An understanding of basic building safety issues and the ability to identify repairs is desirable. 4.1       GRANT PROGRAMME MANAGEMENT SUPPORT

To work within organisational strategies and policies, and in accordance with the priorities and guidance as specified by the Programme Manager:
 

• Contribute to the delivery of all aspects of the grant cycle, including responding to applicant inquiries, assessment of applications, presenting and discussing applications with the grant committee and communicating decisions to applicants. On occasion, there may a requirement to contribute to this work for other JRCT grant programmes.

• Assist with monitoring grantees’ work and expenditure of JRCT funds.

• Contribute to the design and delivery of networking, convening or learning initiatives for grantees.

• Use the grants administration database to process and monitor grant applications and provide reports and statistics.  Maintain accurate database records to enable the appropriate payment and ongoing monitoring of grants. 

• Ensure that effective information storage and retrieval systems (paper and electronic) are developed, maintained and managed for the programme area and maintain records of committee membership and subscriptions.

On a day-to-day basis, you will help NEON’s partners develop effective content and digital comms strategy - and offer support and training in both digital skills and ways to stay safe online. You will centre anti-oppression in your work and be able to help people stay safe online, especially those from marginalised backgrounds. You’ll be across emerging trends, using platforms effectively and aware of how to make use of digital to empower our base and persuade people to our causes. You will be across what’s happening online and in the news - and be able to quickly jump on opportunities to tell a compelling alternative story.

This project is part of a wider Communications Hub in which you’ll play an active role, helping to develop the overall strategy and direction of the project. The overall aim of the Hub is to strengthen the communication skills and abilities of progressives in the UK. The Hub has five programmes, and Digital will be the sixth programme.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead the strategy development and delivery of the digital comms programme
2. Set up and manage a reactive social media unit which clips and generates new content for spokespeople, working with a pool of consultants to create fresh digital content

Beyond the Streets is a UK charity with over 20 years’ experience of partnering with women in the sex industry to see them safe from coercion, violence and abuse. We deliver trauma-informed, person-centered support, provide training for the third sector and statutory professionals, and create resources and reports informed by research, lived experience, and practitioner experience. New Hope is a 24 hour supported accommodation service for adult males with diagnosis of mental health and convictions. As a Forensic Mental Health Recovery Worker you will identify individual resident needs, and provide person centred, tailored support to residents to help them overcome their personal challenges and achieve their goals. We support our residents in developing coping strategies and building supportive relationships, with a commitment to professionalism, teamwork, and customer service. 

You will support with tenancy matters proactively, providing responsive support and fostering a positive environment where residents feel secure and valued. You will do this through a combination of producing tailored support plans, activities, and partnership working. You will support us continue to work in a trauma informed way, and create a psychologically informed environment, which supports us in creating a safe, respectful, and responsive environment which puts our people and communities at the forefront. Purpose of the Job 
The Impact and Evaluation Manager plays a key role in ensuring (FELIX) can robustly measure, evaluate and communicate the social and environmental impact of its work. The role supports an evidence-based culture across the organisation, embedding evaluation and learning into service development and delivery.

Working with colleagues across (FELIX) and its network, you will lead qualitative and quantitative research and evaluation projects, generating insights that inform service improvement, fundraising and public affairs. You will ensure that impact evidence is translated into clear, engaging outputs for internal and external audiences, helping to build compelling narratives about the difference FareShare makes. Ultimately, this work supports FareShare’s mission to deliver more food to charities and community groups across the UK.
 

Duties & Responsibilities 

• Lead the development and ongoing refinement of FareShare’s Theory of Change and Impact & Evaluation frameworks, ensuring they remain relevant and are embedded in impact measurement and evaluation activity

• Design and deliver impact measurement tools and evaluation projects that generate robust evidence on [Felix’s] social and environmental impact, including surveys, research studies and external evaluations.

• Analyse and interpret impact data and research findings, producing clear, accessible reports and insights for internal and external stakeholders, including producing the Annual Impact Report and Internal Stats House.

• Work collaboratively across FareShare teams and with Regional Partners to implement impact measurement approaches, support evidence-informed decision making, and strengthen the organisation’s approach to measuring and communicating impact.

• Manage research activity and partnerships, including coordinating external evaluations, engaging academic partners, supporting evidence for policy and public affairs work, and line managing the Impact and Insights Officer.

The contract terms​

• Permanent contract​

•  Our full time hours are 35 hours per week, but we are committed to flexible working ​and offer a hybrid approach to working. ​Members of our ELT are expected to be in person at one of our offices at least once a week and sometimes more. Due to the nature of our work, regular evening and weekend working is required of ELT members with time off in lieu given.​

• Hybrid working: Meeting in person and working collaboratively are things we value. This role is linked to our Ewell (Surrey) office with a blend of home working and option to work out of our London office as required.​

Criminal record check (DBS): ​We take safeguarding seriously at Samaritans and follow safe recruitment practices. As this role has direct contact with children and adults at risk, this role will require an Enhanced DBS check with Adults and Children’s Barred Lists.​

Purpose of the Job 
Supporting the step change in growth of the Statutory, Trusts and Foundations income stream.

Duties & Responsibilities 

• Collaborate with Manager and Senior Managers to manage portfolio through excellent stewardship
• Supporting the creation of a high-quality pipeline of new funding opportunities
• Manage a portfolio of low-level trusts and foundations, with opportunity to progress to mid-level funders
• Write compelling and visually engaging funding applications to new and existing trusts, working in collaboration with finance colleagues to ensure accurate budget and income allocation
• Manage significant mailing programmes to prospects, each campaign focused on specific projects or urgent appeals, including follow up contact  
• Supporting the timely and accurate submission of funding proposals considering finder deadlines and application requirements
• Excellent stewardship of existing funders through timely submission of repots  and thank you correspondence
• Monitoring and evaluation of projects

Main Purpose and Scope of the Job:

 Co-Ordinate an individual package of target hardening for clients using Stop Domestic Abuse services which is informed by a full risk assessment, the type and condition of the property and the needs and circumstances of the individual household. 

Working collaboratively with existing target hardening schemes within the city including Southampton City Council’s Dove scheme and similar offers from other social landlords and The Blue Lamp Trust.

Participating and contributing in awareness-raising campaigns of domestic abuse issues locally in liaison with local multi agency partnerships, and to participate in training events.

Remaining up-to-date and compliant with all organisational procedures policies and professional codes of conduct and uphold standards of best practice.
