The Opportunity
Many Tears Animal Rescue is at an exciting stage in its development. We rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome thousands of animals each year, and are now seeking an experienced, practical leader to guide our next chapter. You will build on our legacy, strengthening our foundations and securing our long-term sustainability. This role is for someone who can help us grow our reputation while giving our staff and volunteers the support they need to continue providing the best possible care for our animals.
What will you be doing?
You will guide the charity's strategy and drive a period of transformation, ensuring our operations are effective, fully compliant, and set up for long-term sustainability. Your leadership is about ensuring that our strategy, finances, and operations all serve to give our animals the best possible chance of recovery and a loving, forever home.
To achieve this, the role is structured around three key areas of focus:
Strategy, Governance and Compliance

Work with the Board of Trustees to develop and deliver a strategic vision with animal welfare at its heart.

Provide the Board of Trustees with accurate, timely, and insightful reports on risk management and performance. These updates will ensure the Board has the clear visibility they need for effective oversight and strategic planning.

Champion a culture of transparency, accountability, and excellence in governance. Build strong, positive relationships with our regulators and key partners, including contributing to our statutory and regulatory filings to ensure we maintain full compliance with all external obligations.

Lead the development of our internal policies and processes, ensuring every policy and process is fit-for-purpose, compliant with regulatory expectations and the highest standards of animal welfare, and are regularly reviewed to help the team work safely and effectively.

Ensure strict adherence to all animal welfare legislation, Charity Commission standards, and sector best practices, maintaining the reliable framework our team needs to focus on the animals in our care.

Proactively monitor and adapt to evolving Welsh animal rescue licensing regulations, ensuring our practices always reflect the highest welfare standards in Wales.

Oversee the integrity of our operational and governance records, maintaining full transparency and auditability across the charity.
Financial Strategy and Sustainability

Work with the Board of Trustees to develop and implement a financial strategy that puts the controls and oversight in place to secure our future and direct resources to where our animals need them most.

Lead a long-term income generation strategy, focusing on sustainable, diverse streams including legacy giving, grant-making trusts, and community fundraising, to support our rising operational costs.

Implement and monitor strict internal financial controls to ensure all charity resources are used exclusively for approved charitable purposes.

Oversee data governance and digital integrity, ensuring robust data protection compliance.
Operational Delivery and Team Development

Take responsibility for the charity’s safeguarding culture, ensuring that all policies are embedded, staff and volunteers are trained, and that all incidents are investigated and reported with transparency, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our people.

Foster an inclusive and supportive culture while providing strategic oversight of the modernisation of our HR practices, digital systems, and infrastructure. Ensure we are positioned to support our team’s wellbeing, growth, and development - including our volunteers and fosterers - through structured engagement and retention strategies.

Act as the charity’s lead ambassador, building relationships with the press, local authorities, other neighbouring and notable charities, and animal welfare professionals to enhance our external reputation.

Oversee our operational planning, including the day-to-day management of staffing rotas and fleet resources. Provide direct line management to the senior leadership team, making sure everyone has the support they need to work effectively.

Monitor the rescue, and report to the Board of Trustees on core operational performance, including intake-to-rehoming metrics, fostering network capacity, and clinical standards to provide clear visibility on the welfare outcomes we achieve.

Lead the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across operational activity, ensuring consistent service levels and adherence to regulatory and best practice standards, to ensure our animals receive the highest standards of care.

Direct all physical site operations, planned maintenance, and infrastructure improvements, ensuring all premises are safe, efficient, and fit for purpose.

Manage charity risk, including contributing to the risk register, site-wide health and safety audits, staff and volunteer training, and carrying out robust assessment and management of operational risks.

Essential Knowledge and Skills

A comprehensive working knowledge of animal welfare legislation, specifically the Animal Welfare (Wales) Act 2006 and the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (Wales) Regulations 2021.

Time Commitment

Hours: This is a full-time role. It requires flexibility to meet the needs of the charity, including occasional evening and weekend work.

Location: This is primarily an on-site role, based at the rescue centre in Carmarthenshire, Wales to provide visible leadership. There is some ability to work from home for some tasks, and permanent on-site accommodation may be available if required.

The Royal Statistical Society is looking for an outstanding, proactive and organised Marketing Officer to help plan, coordinate and deliver marketing campaigns across our diverse commercial and engagement activities.

This is a new role and an exciting opportunity to bring additional marketing capacity and expertise into the Society. About the role
This is a hands-on marketing role with plenty of variety. Working closely with colleagues across the RSS, you will plan and coordinate multi-channel campaigns across email, web, social media, digital advertising, partner channels and other routes.
You will help turn plans into practical campaign action, making sure marketing is well-organised, audience-focused, delivered on time and measured for effectiveness. You will work closely with our Digital and Content team to coordinate website updates, content, newsletters and campaign assets.
What you’ll be doing
Day-to-day you will:
- promote RSS products, services and business areas including membership, training, events, conference, sponsorship and venue hire;
- plan, coordinate and deliver integrated and effective marketing campaigns across these RSS activities, working closely with key colleagues;
- draft and edit clear, audience-focused marketing copy for social media, emails, adverts, landing pages and promotional materials;
- create, schedule and monitor marketing emails and social media activity, including segmentation, testing and reporting;
- use CRM, campaign and marketing data to support targeting, customer journeys and evaluation;
- monitor campaign performance, including reach, engagement, enquiries, bookings, leads and income;
- help improve campaign effectiveness, audience targeting and ways of working;
- coordinate suppliers, agencies or freelancers where required.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for someone with fantastic marketing skills and practical experience who is proactive, collaborative and confident managing multiple priorities.
You will need:
- experience of working to and achieving ambitious targets, including income generation and customer engagement targets;
- experience coordinating and delivering multiple marketing campaigns simultaneously;
- experience of email marketing, digital marketing and campaign administration;
- experience using CRM systems, customer data or marketing lists;

Main Purpose of the Post
The Chief Executive will have overall responsibility for all aspects of the day to day running of the RLSS and all its services. This will include management of staff and ensuring the services are meeting the needs of those who require them, in addition to managing finances, membership and external relationships. The post holder will be accountable to and work closely with the Board Chair and its Directors to set the strategic direction and further develop the business model which will serve Religious Life Groups for the future.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Strategy & Leadership and Governance
· Provide visible, ambitious, and focused leadership of the RLSS.
· Be overall responsible for the management of the RLSS working in conjunction with the Chair and Directors to provide leadership.
· Lead and contribute to the Board’s overall development of the strategy and annual plans to ensure achievement of a One Church approach to applying the Church’s safeguarding standards.
· Ensure risks to the overall objectives of the RLSS are identified, mitigated, and reported to the Board.
· Develop a culture of resilience, adaptability, and continuous learning within the organization to navigate challenges and maintain trust among victims/survivors and members.
· Develop and promote services and practice improvements which are designed to mitigate risk and improve understanding within safeguarding.
· Effectively sustain a culture that consistently meets the needs of and engages with victim/survivors and with Religious.
· Foster and develop a climate of shared accountabilities, learning and continuous improvement.
· Ensure the RLSS meets it statutory, legal, and regulatory obligations.
· Ensure appropriate presentation and reporting to the Board (and any sub committees and advisory groups) on the progress of the RLSS and on all matters relevant to the discharge of the Board’s responsibilities.
· Oversee all promotional activities, press releases, digital presence, radio, and newspaper interviews.
Staffing & Management.
· Be accountable for the recruitment, retention, ongoing development, and wellbeing of RLSS staff.
· Enthusiastically and effectively, lead, shape, and influence teams to deliver the vision and goals of RLSS to ensure best practice in the delivery of all its safeguarding services.
· Create a supportive working environment which promotes transparency and collaboration in safeguarding.
· Ensure that high quality people management is embedded across the service and foster a high performing culture with shared accountabilities and continuous improvement.
· Ensure the effective management and implementation of robust performance management and appraisal processes.

· Produce, review and update plans relating to service areas.
· Establish and maintain effective and secure record keeping systems.
· Ensure the management and implementation of regular quality assurance, audit, performance management and reporting, using effective management information systems, ensuring this meets CSSA’s requirements.
Collaboration/Networks.
· Contribute to strategic level initiatives with key partners, particularly the Catholic Safeguarding Standards Agency (CSSA) and relevant statutory agencies, to ensure joint planning, access to resources and the development of interagency strategies.
· Build strong and dynamic relationships and networks within and outside the Church to deliver better outcomes for Religious in safeguarding.
Policy and Procedure
· Ensure a robust and up to date Policy & Procedure framework approved by the Board is in place including HR, Health and Safety, Data Protection and operational delivery.
· Ensure there is a system in place to review approved policies and procedures to ensure that substantial changes or additions are brought to the Board for decision.
· Undertake operating compliance exercises including annual risk assessments, health and safety checks and reporting on incidents and near misses.

Finance & Resources
· In conjunction with the Board of Directors, develop a long-term funding strategy, including gathering data, completing research, developing models to ensure the service is cost effective.
· Agree and deliver to budget maintaining a reserve level in line with policy and monitor all budgets and provide financial reports to the Board of Directors.
· Be responsible and accountable for all finances and resources within the teams, ensuring value for money, the avoidance of waste, and the efficient and effective use of all resources.
· Ensure the equitable and timely allocation of work, assuring the most appropriate interventions that timescales are being met and appropriate records maintained.
· Be responsible for all contracts, tenancy agreements and leases.
· Have overall responsibility for the security of confidential information, use of computers and database information.
· Well-developed database and Microsoft Office skills.

Main Purposes of the Post
To provide proactive and effective support to the Chief Executive Officer and Strategic Leads in the delivery of Salford CVS’s strategic work, ensuring the smooth running of strategic meetings, forums and events.
