The Philanthropy Officer is an essential role within Amref UK's Supporter Engagement Team. It combines fundraising, supporter care, prospect research, event management and administration – with a focus on delivering our philanthropy strategy to increase unrestricted income. You will play a key role in supporting the team to raise income from small Trusts & Foundations, Mid-Level Donors and Legacy gifts, assisting the Philanthropy Manager with account management of existing donors as well as prospect research.

This role is about proactively building excellent relationships both in person and virtually, requiring confidence, a positive outlook, and the ability to work collaboratively. About the role

As a Research Grants Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the research funding cycle, from application and peer review through to award management and post‑award administration. You’ll work closely with the Research Grants Manager, internal teams, external experts, and funded researchers to maintain high standards of governance, transparency, and impact across all our research funding activities.

Key responsibilities:

• Support the development, implementation, and management of Macmillan’s research grants programme.
• Create, update, and publish key documentation for each funding round.
• Coordinate expert review panels, including scheduling, logistics, and budget oversight.
• Provide secretariat support for funding panels, including preparing papers, taking minutes, and compiling applicant feedback.
• Manage post‑award processes such as grant agreements, financial tracking, and change requests.
• Monitor reporting compliance and work with Finance to ensure accurate expenditure records.
• Act as the primary point of contact for funded academics, supporting timely reporting and dissemination of research outputs.
• Work with the Communications team to promote research findings and their impact.
• Support internal and external events to strengthen the research community.
• Represent Macmillan at academic conferences and sector events.

The successful candidate will bring:

• Experience in research administration or grant management within an academic, charity, or funding organisation.
• Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills, with experience interpreting data and maintaining accurate records to support effective monitoring of funded projects.
• Experience of providing secretariat support for committees or panels
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and confidence working with a range of stakeholders.

George Watson’s College is looking for an organised and detail-focused Operations Officer to support the work of our Development Office. 

This varied role plays a key part in managing the financial, operational and data systems that underpin fundraising and alumni engagement. The British Academy – the UK’s national body for the humanities and social sciences - is seeking a Development Research Officer to join our Development Team, providing key support within a small fundraising team of 9. It’s a particularly exciting time to join, as we are embarking on an ambitious 125th Anniversary Campaign in 2027.

This role is crucial in enabling the Academy to achieve its ambitious fundraising targets for our next campaign. The Development Research Officer will identify potential new funders who have the capacity and affinity to support the British Academy, as well as managing qualified prospects as they move through the prospect pipeline. You will also provide key intelligence on prospects and donors for meeting briefings and events, as well as due diligence research on potential donors to the Academy.

This is an exciting opportunity to provide strategic insights on prospects and donors for the variety of audiences that we work with. You will enjoy gathering and analysing information from a variety of sources, make connections between people and organisations, and be creative in how to present information and data. Alongside the research role, you will also provide administrative support for the internal and external activities of the Development Team.

You will be confident using the Microsoft Office 365 suite and have experience using Salesforce or another CRM to manage your workflows.

This is a senior role that requires managerial experience, an understanding of the youth sector, safeguarding, and the ability to work with different employed teams and volunteers.

High Trees are seeking an experienced and data-driven Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Lead, with strong project management skills. You will be joining us at an exciting time as High Trees continues to grow the scale and reach of our work. This role is central to creating an evidence-based culture and embedding ongoing monitoring and evaluation cycles to understand the impact of our work.

Working across the organisation, you will need to be confident across a range of approaches to monitoring and evaluation and be able to assess and determine appropriate methods, dependent on context. You will be highly proficient in collecting and analysing quantitative and qualitative data and have experience in developing impact frameworks, including theory of change, outcomes, and indicators. As the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Lead, you will have oversight of monitoring systems and processes ensuring that impact data collected is to a high standard across the organisation and our partnerships.

Collaboration with colleagues is an essential part of this role and you will enjoy working with others and be a valued partner, peer and colleague. Supporting the Head of Community Research and Impact, you will actively contribute to ensuring our impact plan is effectively embedded within key strategic areas. You will need to be highly responsive to the needs of colleagues, partners and funders and be able to provide practical solutions for a range of situations.

You will need to be detailed orientated but motivated by how data and learning can be turned into impactful stories of change. You will also be a strong communicator: experienced in facilitation, an engaging presenter, and a compelling writer, able to frame and share our impact with a range of audiences. You will have the ability to see the bigger picture, at the same time as being on top of the detail – and value both in equal measures!

• Conduct research into commissioning trends, competitor activity and market intelligence
