Job Summary

The Housing Rights Support Manager is a senior role within Caring in Bristol’s adult services, supporting the delivery and development of Early Doors, our homelessness prevention project.

Early Doors works with people experiencing housing issues, offering 1-1 advice and support, group training and access to specialist housing advice and support from our brilliant volunteers.

The role combines a caseload and direct, person-led support with responsibility for the day-to-day coordination and quality of the Housing Rights Support team and Housing Advice Drop-in service. Support conversations are strengths-based, person-led, informative, honest and accessible, helping people improve their knowledge and confidence to use their housing rights, access, understand and take action on specialist housing advice, and identify longer-term housing goals and practical steps towards them.

The Housing Rights Support Manager will line manage the Housing Rights Support Worker, ensure the smooth running of the drop-in service, and work alongside the Head of Support Services to deliver the strategic aims of the adult services.

The Housing Rights Support Manager will help ensure Early Doors remains effective, accessible and responsive to the needs of Bristol’s communities. You will also work very closely with the Senior Youth Practitioner to ensure we are delivering a holistic and coherent floating support service for our city.

· Alongside the Head of Support Services, Coordinate the smooth running of the Housing Advice Drop-in service, working with colleagues and partners to ensure people receive accessible, timely and appropriate support and are connected to specialist housing advice where required.

· Work closely with Housing Matters and other specialist agencies to support effective referrals, information sharing and coordinated responses, while maintaining clear boundaries around the role of Early Doors.

· Provide advocacy and practical support within the scope of the service, helping people understand housing options, navigate relevant pathways and act on specialist advice to prevent housing crisis wherever possible.

· Act on safeguarding concerns within the service, ensuring that if concerns are identified they are recorded and escalated appropriately and that casework is delivered safely and in line with Caring in Bristol policies and procedures.

· Support the development and delivery of group sessions, outreach and other accessible ways of sharing housing rights information, ensuring the service responds to the needs and experiences of the communities it works with.

· Work alongside the Head of Support Services to deliver the strategic aims of the adult services, contributing to service development, partnership working, quality assurance, monitoring and evaluation, and identifying opportunities to improve the reach and impact of Early Doors.
