Job description

We’re looking for a confident and proactive Fundraising Officer to help grow Hillingdon Women’s Centre’s income across trusts and foundations, individual giving and corporate partnerships.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll have the opportunity to build your fundraising experience and make a real contribution to HWC’s growth. You’ll be involved in researching and applying for funding, developing relationships with potential supporters and local businesses, supporting individual giving, and getting involved in fundraising activities and events in the community.

You’ll work with our Development Manager, who will provide support and guidance, and across the wider organisation to help identify opportunities and bring our work to life for funders and supporters.

We’re looking for someone with at least one year’s experience in a fundraising role who is organised, enthusiastic and confident building relationships. You’ll need to be comfortable picking up the phone, having conversations and making connections, as well as writing clear and engaging funding applications and communications.

Working in a small, women-focused charity, you’ll be close to the work and able to see the difference this makes to the lives of women in Hillingdon. This role offers exposure to a broad range of fundraising activity, giving you the opportunity to build on your existing experience across trusts and foundations, individual giving, corporate partnerships, community fundraising and supporter engagement. As we move into a new fundraising strategy, you’ll have the opportunity to play an important role in putting our plans into action and helping to grow our fundraising.

Due to the nature of the services provided by Hillingdon Women’s Centre, this post is restricted to women only, as permitted under the Equality Act 2010. (Schedule 9, Part 1)

Any offers of employment are subject to satisfactory DBS and Right to Work checks, as per legal requirements.

What we offer:

  • Employee Assistance Programme with access to mental health support, coaching and a virtual GP for all staff
  • Reward Gateway employee discounts and benefits
  • Flexible working arrangements, with the opportunity for occasional home working by agreement
  • Learning and development opportunities to support your skills and career development
  • A supportive, women-led working environment
  • A collaborative and inclusive workplace where your contribution is valued
