Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity, is looking for a Supporter Care Officer to join our Fundraising Strategy & Operations Team based in London on a 9-month fixed term basis.

We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently. Centrepoint provides homeless young people with accommodation, health support and life skills in order to get them back into education, training and employment. We want to end youth homelessness by 2037.
Together with our partners, we support over 16,000 young people each year.
About the role
The Fundraising Strategy and Operations team delivers high quality operations support to the wider Fundraising Directorate including Strategic Liaison with Service teams, Compliance, Supporter Journeys and Communications, and Supporter Care.
The role sits within our friendly and dedicated Supporter Care team. In addition to providing operations support to the Fundraising Directorate, the team provides a high standard of customer service to Centrepoint supporters and members of the public.
The role works alongside two other Officers and the team Manager to help steward and grow our compassionate supporter base, securing Centrepoint’s long term future, and enabling us to reach our strategic goals through helping to maximise fundraised income and increase donor loyalty.
The role involves working independently, collaborating with colleagues and third-party suppliers, and using a variety of technical systems to fulfil a range of supporter-related responsibilities.
These include, but are not limited to, liaising with existing and prospective supporters, managing fundraising complaints, processing donations, processing supporter data; and ensuring all tasks are carried out in compliance with GDPR, Data Protection, and other regulatory requirements.
There is also the opportunity to work on projects, volunteer at events, and participate in a range of training to support personal and professional development.
About you
- Experience of working in Supporter Care or customer focused team
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to plan and work to tight deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills

- Ability to investigate and resolve problems
- Ability to be flexible and switch between tasks as needed

What you’ll be doing
- Interacting with existing and prospective supporters via multiple communication channels
- Resolving complaints in line with our policy, escalating feedback where necessary
- Listening to and quality checking calls handled by the third-party contact centre
- Supporting with required training of the third-party contact centre call handling team
- Processing fundraising donations
- Maintaining supporter records on the Raiser’s Edge CRM system
- Helping to ensure team processes are accurate, efficient, and up to date
- Helping to ensure the team meets its service SLAs and KPIs
- Maintaining a good understanding and working knowledge of new sector regulations
- Supporting the delivery of strategic projects in line with the Supporter Care strategy

Join us at Single Homeless Project (SHP) as part of our Lewisham Vulnerable Adults Accommodation Service (LVAAS), delivering accommodation-based support across our properties in Brockley and New Cross. This is hands-on, day-to-day work alongside people experiencing homelessness and multiple disadvantage, where no two days are the same. Senior Peer Support Workers and Peer Support Workers, who have direct lived experience of mental health issues, are working on in-patient wards in Croydon, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham and Wandsworth to provide recovery-focused peer support to people as they leave hospital and journey towards living independently in the community.
We are seeking a Senior Peer Support Worker to join the team in Lewisham, using personal lived experience of mental health difficulties to provide person-centred, recovery-focused peer support to people on hospital wards and as they are discharged to journey towards being settled in the community. This role will also line manage a Peer Support Worker, providing regular supervision and support, annual appraisals and development opportunities.
The Senior Peer Support Worker will collaborate with the multidisciplinary team within the Unit, assisting in-patients in developing essential skills and coping mechanisms, while promoting overall wellness through strength based and non-directive conversations. They will provide both practical and emotional support, facilitate access to community resources to help individuals maintain their independence while ensuring their wellbeing.
Additionally, this role includes supporting service users after discharge in the community for up to 12 weeks, aiding them in fostering independence within their local community, connecting with various agencies, enhancing life skills, providing guidance related to employment or educational opportunities and improving their ability to manage challenges effectively to prevent re-admission.
This position requires building connections with service users through shared experiences of mental health challenges, making lived experience a crucial requirement for applicants. You will also need to have previous experience of line management/managerial responsibilities.
Successful applicants will be expected to undergo an Enhanced Level Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Catalyst Support is looking for a confident and values-led Safe Haven Team Lead to support the smooth running of our out-of-hours crisis prevention and support service across Aldershot, Guildford and Woking. Key Responsibilities
- Manage rotas, ensuring there is adequate cover for holiday and sickness
- Solve issues of staff cover with partner organisations as they arise
- Undertake monthly team meetings with all Safe Haven staff
- Deliver one to one supervision for staff, ensuring all performance issues, complaints and support needs are addressed
- Support with annual appraisals for Safe Haven staff
- Ensure all Catalyst staff are following the incident management process and utilising the on-call rota
- Participate in the on-call rota, ensuring you are able to respond to urgent calls, follow-up and report incidents during Safe Haven opening times
- Attend any necessary meetings to meet the needs of Safe Haven
- Liaise with the Senior Manager and Director of Services in preparation for the Service Review and Steering Group Meetings in relation to service delivery
- Work with the Senior Manager around operational efficiencies and ensure the service follows best practice
- Work with the Senior Manager around any complaints, grievances and serious performance issues
- Work as part of a team of Team Leads and communicate well with colleagues working from different locations
- Develop relationships with service users, carers and statutory and non-statutory organisations, in order to provide more integrated preventative and crisis management provision
- Ensure high quality services are delivered consistently and adhere to best practice guidelines, including safeguarding and safe practice.
- Take responsibility for personal development, identifying personal training needs and participate in regular supervision and appraisal
- Work within the Catalyst governance framework
- Work 1 shift a month at a Safe Haven site (minimum 10 a year), to be paid additionally to Team Lead hours at Support Worker rate
About you
- We’re looking for someone who can bring compassion, confidence and strong leadership to a busy out-of-hours mental health support service. You will be someone who:
- Has experience working in social care, mental health, crisis support or a similar community-based service.
- Has experience supervising, supporting or mentoring staff and/or volunteers.
- Can build positive working relationships with statutory, voluntary and community partners.
- Understands safeguarding, confidentiality, consent, information sharing and GDPR
- Can support staff wellbeing and address performance or support needs appropriately
- Communicates clearly and confidently, both verbally and in writing.
- Is organised, with good administrative, recording and reporting skills
- Can remain calm under pressure and respond confidently to urgent or sensitive situations
- Is able to work on your own initiative while also contributing positively as part of a wider team
- Is committed to delivering high-quality, safe and inclusive services
- Understands and values equality, diversity and equal opportunities
- Is confident using IT systems and databases
- Is able to work flexibly across locations, including evenings, weekends and on-call responsibilities
