The Role
To work as part of the retail team, in supporting merchandising, processing deliveries, serving customers, and maintaining high levels of presentation and customer service.
The Arboretum Shop welcomes many thousands of visitors throughout the year, from schools, families, armed services, veterans, and the public. We carry a varied range of merchandise that links back to our site.
This is a casual role designed to support the retail team through peek trading periods, holiday support, key event days, and evening events such as Illuminated Arboretum, to name but a few.
Please note that this role is based on site at the National Memorial Arboretum, which is located at Croxall Road, Alrewas, DE13 7AR

We are recruiting for an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join our Finance Team in the role of Finance Assistant.
The Finance Assistant supports all aspects of the Hallé’s work at the Bridgewater Hall, the Hallé Venues and concert halls across the UK.
The Finance Assistant works in a department currently comprising Finance Director, Finance Manager, Assistant Finance Manager and Finance Assistant.
The department is responsible for all aspects of the financial affairs of the Society and its related trusts. The Finance Assistant is responsible to the Assistant Finance Manager.
They take responsibility for processing the day-to-day transactions of the company across purchase ledger, sales ledger and the cash book, and ensure the smooth operation of the office. They will also need to work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider Hallé as well as with external customers and suppliers.
The post is full-time permanent based on a 36.25-hour week. Our core office hours are 09.00-17:15, from Monday to Friday. There is an option to work up to 50% of hours from home.

Fundraising Assistant
Horatio’s Garden charity is looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual, with flair for communicating through the written word, to support our Trusts & Foundations fundraising. Horatio’s Garden is a growing, award winning, national charity improving the lives of people with spinal injuries by creating and nurturing outstanding garden projects in NHS spinal injury centres.
Trusts & Foundations is our largest income stream and we are looking to increase capacity in the team during a growth period for the charity.You will support our experienced Trusts & Foundations team to help meet, and exceed, our income targets and to provide fantastic support to our donors.You will also have the opportunity to spend half a day a week in our Salisbury garden assisting the Head Gardener and spending time with beneficiaries.
Main duties:
- Identify and research grant giving trusts and foundations to whom Horatio’s Garden is eligible to submit applications for funding.
- Proactively approach relevant trusts and foundations, where possible, to discuss potential applications before submission.
- Prepare and submit high quality applications for funding for a range of Horatio’s Garden projects.
- Prepare and submit high quality, timely progress reports to grant givers, contributing to longer term relationship development with funders.
- Maintain the Trusts and Foundations pipeline to maximise supporter retention and income generation.
- Identify and deliver opportunities to engage grant givers with Horatio’s Garden, through events and garden tours, to increase supporter engagement.

General
1. Work with the gardens, arts programme and finance teams at Horatio’s Garden to understand the need for funding and the impact of Horatio’s Garden to maintain profitable relationships with supporters.

3. Keep up to date with trends and developments in fundraising to identify opportunities for Horatio’s Garden to increase sustainable income.

Overview / purpose of the role
We’re looking for a Finance & Operations Assistant who is interested in developing a career in bookkeeping and/or accountancy within the nonprofit sector. No previous experience is required, just lots of passion and a motivation to pursue a long-term career in charity finance. The successful candidate will undertake training with the AAT (funded by us) towards a bookkeeping qualification alongside working as our Finance & Operations Assistant, you will be given some time to study during your working hours for this qualification.
The Finance & Operations Assistant is a central resource within CGP, working with colleagues in the Operations Team, and across the organisation to provide financial and operational support to all areas of our work. They will work closely with the Head of Operations & Evaluation to process invoices, expenses and conduct weekly payment runs, ensuring that all financial policies and procedures are carefully adhered to. They will also support colleagues to follow our financial policies and processes and act as the first point of contact for any questions on these procedures. Additionally, they will provide general administrative and operational support to colleagues as outlined in the below job description.

Responsibilities
Finance
● Managing our accounts payable inbox, monitoring all incoming invoices and following up with team members on any missing information if required
● Processing and coding invoices in Xero accounting software ahead of weekly payment runs
● Checking that correct coding and approval procedures are followed for staff expenses in Soldo
● Conducting weekly payment runs via our online banking system
● Coordinating our monthly payroll processes (working with external providers)
● Working with the Head of Operations & Evaluation and Director of Finance to support the development of funding proposals

The right candidate is less likely to be defined by their qualifications and prior experience, but will be someone who meets the below criteria, and is ready to learn. Role: The Operations Analyst will support our operations, events, executive and grantmaking teams by managing our office, coordinating meetings, setting meeting agendas, and supporting other operations processes within Longview.
Location: London, UK (working full-time from Longview’s East London office). We may be able to sponsor a UK work visa for this position.
Starting Salary: c. £35,000-40,000 p.a. We may be able to offer a higher starting salary, depending on the successful candidate’s experience and skills.

Responsibilities
The Operations Analyst will support the Longview Philanthropy executive, grantmaking, operations, and events teams. Approximately 40% of their time will be spent on office management tasks and 60% on generalist-type operations tasks (depending on the successful candidate’s specific skills and professional development goals):
- Meeting preparation and coordination
- Creating meeting agendas for senior staff (CEO, COO & Programme Leads) and sharing them ahead of time
- Scheduling meetings between team members and external stakeholders
- Organising our monthly all-team meetings
- Managing our London office
- Keeping the office fridge stocked
- Maintaining office inventory and equipment
- Continuously improving our working environment
- Including helping to scope for new offices, as required
- Receiving and managing office guests
- Liaising with our office provider (Fora)
- Remote office management
- Assisting our remote staff with their local office spaces, including finding suitable offices and liaising with the providers
- Assisting staff with equipment orders
- Collating materials from across the org to support the executive, grantmaking, events and operations teams
- An example of this might be collating testimonials on our events for future invitations, or collating public and Longview-specific information on a potential or existing donor
- Supporting staff where needed with smaller tasks, examples might include ordering items for staff and registering for events on their behalf
- Administering and troubleshooting key shared systems, for example, 1Password, Asana, Slack, Calendly, Zoom, AirTable, and Notion
- Moderating these platforms and enforcing communications and sharing norms
- Managing our general enquiries email inbox and triaging emails to ensure they receive an appropriate response
- Logging general job applications in our database and responding as necessary
Possible duties, depending on the candidate:
- Helping administer hiring rounds
- Communicating with candidates
- Managing the candidate pipeline and applicant tracking system during the hiring process, as well as the logistics for work tests, trials and interviews
- Supporting our IT infrastructure
- Updating the website
- Conducting basic cybersecurity tasks
- Working with our Data Manager to keep our CRM up to date by tracking key interactions
The successful candidate will initially report to Katie Hearsum, COO, though management may eventually move to another member of the operations team, and ideally would be able to start in July 2024.

Desirable
- Previous experience as an Executive Assistant, Personal Assistant, Office Manager, or other operations-focused roles
- Experience with Airtable, which is used within Longview for several key functions
- Excellent communication skills: ability to judge the tone needed for a wide variety of communications and draft emails/documents appropriately

Development / Fundraising Assistant
Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week, with flexibility to increase to 37 hours per week. (Some evening and weekend work required in line with fundraising events).
Salary: £24,031 - £25,863 per annum FTE (£19,484.59 - £20,970 pro rata for 30 hours per week) dependant on skills, experience and knowledge

This is an integral part of the development team, providing essential support across various fundraising initiatives and providing excellent supporter stewardship (nurturing our supporters/fundraisers on their journey with us). We are looking for a motivated, creative, and organised Engagement and Communications Officer to join our team. This role is a unique opportunity for someone with a passion for building a fairer legal system through impactful events, engaging member outreach, and powerful communications. Working alongside the Director of Development and the Head of Communications, this role will work across teams to maintain and strengthen engagement through events, communications and corporate outreach. You will play an integral role in communicating our work as widely as possible and improving and increasing engagement with our supporters, including our members, donors and corporate partners.
The Engagement and Communications Officer will work to maximise income and support for JUSTICE through events (approximately 45% of the role), communications (approximately 30% of the role) and membership (approximately 25% of the role). They will report to the Director of Development and Head of Communications.

The JUSTICE team currently work in a hybrid manner. Staff members have access to office space in London, however, attendance is currently optional. We are currently recruiting for a Patrons Manager to join our Development team on a full time permanent basis.
The Development team is responsible for securing significant revenue income from a variety of public, private and commercial funding sources to support the ambitions of Southbank Centre, in close collaboration with all internal departments and external partners. The Patrons Manager role sits within the Philanthropy team which focuses on those gifts from individual donors, usually in excess of £5,000. They manage regular giving schemes such as our Patrons and our Commissioning Committee as well as leading on soliciting restricted major gifts for particular projects.
The successful candidates will work across a variety of responsibilities which includes but are not limited to:
- Manage a portfolio of prospects and donors with the capacity to give gifts of £5,000 and above with a focus on their individual motivations for giving, stewarding them and soliciting them according to their interests and Southbank Centre’s priorities.
- Secure regular giving from Patrons and Commissioning Committee by communicating effectively and engaging them with our work, while also developing bespoke opportunities for these donors to give beyond their annual subscriptions.
- Develop strategies to grow support for Southbank Centre from major donors including identifying new networks and presenting Southbank Centre’s work in compelling ways.
- Meet financial targets, maintain financial records and regularly review portfolio to update forecasts and budgets and identify risks and opportunities.
- Manage the Events Assistant to ensure we deliver high quality cultivation and stewardship experiences for donors and prospects which illuminate the impact of Southbank Centre’s programme.
