Working with two highly experienced Programme Coordinators, you will help to grow our existing Youth Development Team activities, currently present in Hampton, and continue the development of our newly launched Aspire project.
This is a maternity cover role for a minimum period of 6 months starting in June. You will be based in Peterborough but also spend time at our centre in Cambridge.
You will manage our Lead Youth Development Worker and Aspire Development Worker, in Peterborough, encouraging them to establish positive relationships with young people, from which we development activities, and provide advice and support.
Joining a growing Peterborough team, you’ll support the expansion of weekly groups, one-to-one work, family support, school-based alternative education, trips and residential experiences. Increasing partnership working with local community groups and agencies will be key to this.
Romsey Mill's Youth Development Team (YDT) works with disadvantaged, at-risk and vulnerable young people (aged 10 - 21 years) across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. YDT are passionate about supporting young people to overcome challenges, live fulfilling lives and inspire change in the world. We currently engage around 1200 young people each year. Aspire is the name of Romsey Mill’s project that supports autistic children and young people. We currently deliver 14 specialist youth clubs across Cambridge, Cambourne, Linton and Hampton supporting over 180 autistic young people. We’re excited about further extending the work across Peterborough. You will work out of the office Romsey Mill rents at CSK Church in Hampton for 3-4 days per week. We utilise space there and in other community facilities for the delivery of activities. You will also spend 1-2 days working from Romsey Mill Centre, Cambridge.

Who we are looking for
Volunteering is a growing area at JDRF with huge potential to connect with people who want to give their time to support the work we do by sharing their lived experience, their enthusiasm or their core skills. You will work with teams across JDRF to recruit, retain and steward our amazing volunteers as they support the work JDRF delivers for people living with type 1 diabetes. You will lead on our volunteer programmes, the Insight and Experience Panel and Youth Ambassadors Programme. Ensuring volunteers receive excellent stewardship alongside delivering to the needs of JDRF. Reviewing and evaluating the programmes alongside agreed KPI’s alongside the administration of these programmes.
You will ensure there is a portfolio of volunteer opportunities that support organisational need and match volunteer motivations and that we review and evaluate the success of opportunities available.
As the first point of contact for volunteer queries, you must be a confident communicator both verbally and in writing. You should be as happy to pick up the phone as you are to write out an email and be able to judge what type of communication works best in different instances.
You will also be responsible for ensuring that all information relating to volunteering is recorded on our database. And that the data is used to help support decisions made within the department.
Above all we’re looking for someone who can get excited about volunteering and champion the benefits of getting involved.

The Diocese of Winchester and the Diocese of Portsmouth are partnering exclusively with Robertson Bell to recruit a Strategic Programmes Finance Officer on a permanent, part-time basis (28 hours). The Diocese of Winchester (WDBF) and the Diocese of Portsmouth (PDBF) support the Ministry in, and the mission of, Church of England parishes in Winchester and Portsmouth and surrounding areas.
Reporting into, and working closely with, the Strategic Programme Managers of both dioceses, you will take responsibility for providing specific financial reconciliations, monitoring and reporting against the Strategic Development Fund (SDF) and Diocesan Investment Programme (DIP) funding received by the Diocese of Winchester and the Diocese of Portsmouth from the Church of England (Archbishop’s Council).
A key aspect of the role will involve financial planning and modelling for future DIP bids. SDF/DIP funding is given for projects within the dioceses that help to achieve their strategic objectives. The role also involves some historic analysis to ensure expenditure is correctly coded to the right project from previous funding.
In this Strategic Programmes Finance Officer role, you will:
- Support the Strategic Programme Managers, liaising with the Finance Team, drafting, costing, and modelling of financial information for future funding/grant bids, ensuring cost recovery for overheads and staff time is included on all projects.
- Prepare regular financial reports for the Strategic Development Team and senior leadership on the financial progress and outcomes of spend to date, ensuring transparency and accountability of the funds received for the various SDF/DIP projects.
- Ensuring any transactions for overheads or contributions to core costs are recorded accurately for costs incurred by SDF/DIP or shared by the WDBF/PDBF.
- Providing information to the Finance Team regarding projects as part of month or year-end processes.
- Support with the preparation of financial reports to Church of England on the funding spend to date at required intervals.
- Review of spend to date on Xledger vs spend expected by SDT to includes comparisons for projects, spend against budget and reconciliations moving forwards.

Our 68-year-old charity is one of the most exciting and flexible employers in the charity sector. During the summer, we launched a membership magazine (PTA Extra), and a popular programme of parent webinar covering such topics as: ‘Supporting your child’s mental health’, ‘Helping your child succeed in KS2 English’, ‘Neurodiversity in Children Matters’.In the autumn began building a fundraising team to support PTAs by fundraising at the national level.In December we launched the highly successful ‘National Parent Survey’ to explore the challenges and concerns parents face. Main purpose and scope of Role

PTA Programme
- Growing our network of PTAs.

Parent Programme

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our Education Team. This role will require the successful candidate to support an integrated and holistic approach to education, health and care, work under the direct supervision of an allocated teacher / senior specialist teaching assistant, support access to learning and provide general support to the teacher in the management of pupils in learning opportunities and to assist the teacher in providing relevant support for pupils with severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and complex therapeutic, medical and health needs.

Role Requirements
STL1 – Provide support for Learning Activities set by Classteacher & Senior Specialist Teaching Assistant
- To support learning activities for individual, groups or whole classes of pupils, leading activities under the direction of the teacher or Senior Teaching Assistant supporting the teacher in their delivery of lessons.
- To demonstrate our School Ethos and Pupil Charter throughout the School day.

The role
The Programme and Evaluation Manager organises our music programmes: ongoing workshop series in detention centres and other settings, performances, special projects. So the role sits at the very centre of our work. Working closely with the Artistic Director, you will make Hear Me Out’s artistic programme a reality.

Burnhope Community Centre is a brand-new, purpose-built facility that opened in 2017. Following Covid we have seen substantial growth of our activities and projects that serve our community. We currently run two toddler groups per week, an after-school Kids Club, carpet bowls, a walking group, Pilates, Zumba, Keep moving and other fitness classes. We run a lunch club, bingo nights and several other activities. We have a much-needed Wellbeing Hub to support and signpost people with health issues. We are a CIO with seven trustees and five part time staff. Our building is new built, with car parking and some outdoor space, next to the Primary School. We have a small gym, a meeting room, kitchen, and main hall.
Our current coordinator has done an amazing job in fund raising and supporting our growth and we are looking for someone who can build on her work.
We are looking for someone with a heart for people, leadership ability, and fundraising skills who can relate well to the community, volunteers and staff, offer inspiration and lead in an agreed direction as we continue to develop our centre.
We are looking for someone who can work 20 hours per week, with the opportunity to do some work from home. Hours can be arranged with some flexiblity. The salary will be in the range £15-£20 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. We comply with EEO legislation.

Main purpose and scope of Role
This role will play key to engaging with and supporting PTAs across the region, as well as a variety of stakeholders such as schools, parent groups, local authorities, potential sponsors or supporters and other organisations as our suite of programmes grows. This role initially focuses on the following, but is subject to change as programmes are launched or evolved:
PTA Programme
- Growing our network of PTAs.
- Supporting PTAs through leadership transition to minimise PTAs closing unnecessarily.
- Organising gatherings of PTAs to enhance the PTA community.
- Providing training and awareness sessions for PTAs.
- Providing community support to PTAs during peak activity periods online or by phone.
- Helping schools establish PTAs and supporting them during their first year through our new PTA Launchpad programme.
- Hosting and co-ordinating virtual webinars/meetings to demonstrate the value of PTA membership and the support available.
Parent Programme
- Raising awareness of Parentkind’s growing programme of support for parents, directly or indirectly through schools or other partners.
- Building relationships with parent groups to support engagement with our growing suite of parent support opportunities.
- Organising events for parents as part of our Parent Programme.
- Building relationships with regional stakeholders to support Parent Programme activities.
Other Programmes/Services
- Encouraging uptake or (when charged) sales of our broad and growing suite of programmes and services.
- Identifying and engaging with local and regional partners for our range of programmes.
- Feeding into programme design.
Wider Stakeholder Engagement:
- Attending appropriate conferences and educational meetings across the region.
